英语小故事-The-Monkey-and-The-Crocodile-猴子与鳄鱼(精美彩色插图)

Retold from the Panchatantram by Rohini ChowdhuryOnce there lived a monkey in a jamun tree by a river. The monkey was alone - he had no friends, no family, but he was happy and content. The jamun tree gavehim plenty of sweet fruit to eat, and shade from the sunand shelter from the rain. One day a crocodile came swimming up the river andclimbed on to the bank to rest under the monkey's tree.'Hello', called the monkey, who was a friendly animal. 'Hello', replied the crocodile, surprised. 'Do you know where I can get some food?' he asked. 'I haven't had anything to eat all day - there just don't seem to be any fish left in the river.''Well,' said the monkey, 'I don't eat fish so I wouldn't know - but I do have plenty of ripe purple jamuns in my tree. Would you like to try some?' He threw some down to the crocodile. The crocodile was so hungry that he ate up all the jamuns even though crocodiles don't eat fruit. He loved the sweet tangy fruit and shyly asked whether he could have some more. 'Of course', replied the monkey generously, throwing down more fruit. 'Come back whenever you feel like more fruit', he added when the crocodile had eaten his fill. After that the crocodile would visit the monkeyevery day. The two animals soon becamefriends - they would talk and tell each otherstories, and eat as much of the sweet jamuns asthey wanted. The monkey would throw down all the fruit the crocodile wanted from his tree. One day the crocodile began talking about his wife and family. 'Why didn't you tell me earlier that you had a wife?' asked the monkey. 'Please take some of the jamuns for her as well when you go back today.' The crocodile thanked him and took some of the fruit for his wife. The crocodile's wife loved the jamuns. She had never eaten anything so sweet before. 'Imagine', she said, 'how sweet would be the creature who eats these jamuns every day. The monkey has eaten these every day of his life - his flesh would be even sweeter than the fruit.' She asked her husband to invite the monkey for a meal - 'and then we can eat him up' she said happily. The crocodile was appalled - how could he eathis friend? He tried to explain to his wife that hecould not possibly eat the monkey. 'He is myonly true friend', he said. But she would not listen - she must eat the monkey. 'Since when do crocodiles eat fruit and spare animals?' she asked. When the crocodile would not agree to eat the monkey, she pretended to fall very sick. 'Only a monkey's heart can cure me', she wailed to her husband. 'If you love me you will get your friend the monkey and let me eat his heart.'The poor crocodile did not know what to do - he did not want to eat his friend, but he could not let his wife die. At last he decided to bring the monkey to his wife.'O dear friend', he called as soon as reached the jamun tree. ' My wife insists that you come to us for a meal. She is grateful for all the fruit that you have sent her, and asks that I bring you home with me.' The monkey was flattered, but said he could not possibly go because he did not know how to swim. 'Don't worry about that', said the crocodile. 'I'll carry you on my back.' The monkey agreed and jumped onto the crocodile's back. The crocodile swam with him out into the deep wide river. When they were far away from the bank and the jamun tree, he said, 'My wife is very ill. The only thing that will cure her is a monkey's heart. So, dear friend, this will be the end of you and of our friendship.' The monkey was horrified. What could he do to save himself? He thought quickly and said 'Dear friend, I am very sorry to hear of your wife's illness and I am glad that I will be able to help her. But I have left my heart behind on the jamun tree. Do you think we could go back so that I can fetch it for your wife?'The crocodile believed the monkey. He turned andswam quickly to the jamun tree. The monkey leaped offhis back and into the safety of his tree. 'False andfoolish friend,' he called. 'Don't you know that we carryour hearts within us? I will never trust you again or evergive you fruit from my tree. Go away and don't comeback again.'The crocodile felt really foolish - he had lost a friend anda supply of good sweet fruit. The monkey had saved himself because he had thought quickly. He realised that a monkey and a crocodile could never be true friends - crocodiles preferred to eat monkeys rather than be friends with them.。

老虎袋鼠狮子猴子写一篇英语作文

老虎袋鼠狮子猴子写一篇英语作文

老虎袋鼠狮子猴子写一篇英语作文全文共3篇示例,供读者参考篇1The Jungle StorytellersI can still vividly picture that sweltering summer day when our English teacher, Mrs. Robbins, announced the assignment that would become the catalyst for one of the most imaginative group projects of my academic career. Her words echoed through the stifling classroom, "For your next creative writing piece, you'll be working in groups of four to craft an original narrative from the perspective of four different animals."Instantly, my mind began racing with possibilities, dreaming up vibrant worlds where creatures could take on human qualities and experiences. Little did I know, this very assignment would unite four vastly different personalities, ultimately forging an unbreakable bond of friendship amidst the chaos of clashing creative visions. Our motley crew consisted of Greg, the resident class clown whose boisterous energy could easily fill any room; Samantha, the diligent overachiever with an unparalleled flair for descriptivewriting; James, the quiet introvert who often found solace in the written word; and myself, an eternal daydreamer forever lost in the realms of my own boundless imagination.Convening for our first group meeting, the air was thick with a tangled blend of excitement and trepidation. Greg, ever the instigator, immediately proposed we embody the jungle's most fearsome predators – himself as the mighty tiger, Samantha as the powerful lioness, James as the menacing crocodile, and myself as the cunning snake.Samantha, however, swiftly interjected with her own vision, one that celebrated the beauty and diversity of the animal kingdom's herbivores. She envisioned herself as a graceful gazelle, James as a towering giraffe, Greg as a majestic elk, and me as a gentle deer.As the debate raged on, I found myself retreating into my own whimsical musings, imagining a world where species coexisted harmoniously, their differences celebrated rather than feared. It was then that I tentatively suggested we each embody creatures from entirely different habitats, allowing our narratives to intertwine in an unprecedented tapestry of adventure. To my surprise, the others gradually warmed to the idea, and after much deliberation, our roles were finally cemented – Gregas the fearsome yet playful tiger, Samantha as the resilient kangaroo, James as the regal lion, and myself as the mischievous monkey. And so, our journey into the depths of imagination began.Greg's narrative introduced us to Rajah, a majestic Bengal tiger whose prowess as a hunter was matched only by his insatiable curiosity and zest for life. His tale transported us to the lush jungles of India, where he embarked on a thrilling adventure filled with narrow escapes from poachers and heart-stopping encounters with rival felines.Samantha, ever the overachiever, crafted a rich and nuanced portrayal of Kendra, a fierce yet nurturing kangaroo navigating the harsh realities of life in the Australian Outback. Her vivid descriptions painted a stunning picture of the red desert sands, the unforgiving heat, and the unwavering maternal bond that drove Kendra to protect her joey at all costs.James, usually so reserved, truly came into his own as Mufasa, the regal lion whose unwavering sense of justice and responsibility guided the pride through times of plenty and scarcity alike. His narrative explored the complex social dynamics of the African savannah, where survival often hinged on forgingstrategic alliances and maintaining a delicate balance with neighboring prides. As for my contribution, I unleashed the mischievous spirit of Cheeky, a curious little monkey whose insatiable appetite for adventure frequently landed him in precarious predicaments throughout the lush rainforests of Brazil. Cheeky's escapades were a delightful tapestry of narrow escapes, unlikely friendships, and valuable lessons learned amidst the vibrant canopies and trickling streams of his tropical home.Week after week, we poured our hearts and souls into fleshing out these characters, each narrative taking on a life of its own yet inextricably intertwined with the others. Heated debates erupted over plot points and character arcs, perspectives clashed and compromises were made, but through it all, an unbreakable camaraderie took root.In those moments of creative friction, we discovered the true power of collaboration, of embracing our differences and allowing them to elevate our collective vision to unprecedented heights. Greg's boisterous energy breathed life into the most action-packed scenes, Samantha's meticulous attention to detail painted vivid backdrops that transported readers into our worlds, and James's gift for nuanced character development imbued our protagonists with remarkable depth and emotional resonance. As for me, I found myself assuming the role of the thread that wove our tapestry together, crafting seamless narrative transitions that allowed our tales to converge in unexpected and delightful ways. Cheeky's chance encounter with Rajah in the heart of the jungle, Kendra's harrowing journey across the Outback to seek aid from the neighboring lion pride, and Mufasa's noble decision to offer sanctuary to the wayward monkey – these were the moments that transformed our individual stories into an epic, interconnected saga. Finally, the day arrived for us to present our magnum opus to the class. With trembling hands and pounding hearts, we took to the front of the room, each of us embodying the spirit of our chosen creature through carefully crafted vignettes and vivid character portrayals. As the final words faded into silence, the room erupted into thunderous applause, and in that moment, something profound shifted within each of us. We had transcended the boundaries of a mere school assignment and crafted something truly special –a testament to the power of friendship, imagination, and thecollective strength that emerges when unique perspectives coalesce into something greater than the sum of its parts. In the weeks and months that followed, our bond only grew stronger, fortified by the shared experience of bringing our jungle storytellers to life. Greg's infectious laughter became the soundtrack to our study sessions, Samantha's unwavering determination inspired us to push our creative boundaries ever further, and James's quiet wisdom grounded us when our imaginations threatened to run wild. And as for me, I carried the spirit of Cheeky with me always, a constant reminder to embrace the world with an inquisitive mind and an open heart, ever ready to embark on the next grand adventure that life had in store. Those jungle storytellers may have been mere figments of our imaginations, but the lessons they imparted – about teamwork, perseverance, and the transformative power of creativity – will forever remain etched into the fabric of our beings, a cherished reminder of the indelible bonds forged amidst the chaos and the joy of unleashing our wildest dreams onto the written page.篇2An English Essay by a Tiger, Kangaroo, Lion and MonkeyHey teachers! We're a tiger, kangaroo, lion and monkey who have to write an English essay together for class. We've never written anything like this before, but we're going to give it our best shot! Here goes...I'll start things off, says the tiger. My name is Shere Khan and I'm the biggest and fiercest of this group. I was born and raised in the jungles of India. Life in the wild is no joke - every day is a battle for survival against hunters, other predators, and the blazing heat. Despite the challenges, I absolutely love being a tiger. We are the most powerful of the cat species and feared by all creatures, man and animal alike. With my thick yellow and black striped fur coat, I am able to camouflage perfectly in the dense forests and tall grass. My night vision is extraordinary, allowing me to stalk prey even in total darkness. And my raw power and strength is unmatched - I can take down massive animals like buffalo and wild boars with my deadly claws and teeth. I am the true king of the jungle!Okay okay, let me jump in here, says the kangaroo, letting out a big kick. The name's Rockette and I was born and raised in the Australian Outback. Unlike Sir Stripey Fur over here, us 'roos have to use our brains as well as brawn to survive in the harshAustralian bush. We may look cute and cuddly, but we're true boxers and can kill with our powerful kick-boxing skills if needed.Instead of hiding in the shadows, us kangaroos prefer to laze about in the sunshine, conserving our energy for sporadic bursts of hopping to escape predators and 'roo fights. We 'roos are pretty chill, but get on our bad side and you'll see why we're one of the toughest marsupials around! I've got a mean one-two punch that's stopped many a dingo and snake dead in its tracks. You two need to chill out, the lion interrupted with a huge yawn. Hey humans, I'm Mufasa, the king of kings. You'd better show some respect when I'm talking. As anyone can plainly see, we lions are the most regal, dignified, and noble of all creatures. We are promoted and admired across cultures around the world as symbols of strength, power, and fierceness unmatched.Just look at this luscious golden mane - it frames my perfectly chiseled features that would put any human model to shame. And my piercing amber eyes can see straight through to your soul. You humans have nothing on the perfection and majesty that is the male lion. We spend our days resting and grooming regally while our less impressive lioness wives do all the hunting and hard work. What a life!Ugh, you three are insufferable, the little monkey chimed in while scratching himself. You guys need to get over yourselves. Everyone knows us monkeys are the most intelligent, agile and clever creatures around. While you bozos just sit around looking tough, us monkeys are climbing trees, making tools, and outsmarting every living thing in sight with our crafty wit.We may be tiny, but we've got the biggest brains around these parts. With our opposable thumbs and superior dexterity, we can manufacture all kinds of tools and technologies that you brawn-over-brain animals can only dream of. We monkeys live to have fun - swinging from vines, eating fresh fruits, cracking jokes and playing tricks on dull-witted creatures like yourselves. Who's the king of the jungle now, Rufio the monkey king asks as he lets out a raucous hoot!Hold up, hold up, here comes the tiger again. You all think you're so tough and cool? Well I'll have you know that us tigers have been revered by humans in art, literature and mythology since ancient times. We are viewed as powerful spiritual symbols of passion, sensuality, beauty, courage and indomitable strength. Our stripes are absolutely mesmerizing and exotic. Just ask any human. While you're all goofing around and bragging, we tigers spend our time hunting and surviving like true apex predators. We fearlessly take on creatures ten times our size with razor sharp claws, teeth and pure brute force. That's why tigers are solitary - we're lone powerful survivalists who don't need anyone else. Us tigers represent the harsh, dangerous, beautiful reality of life in the wild. Fear me.Ha! What a bunch of baloney, says Rockette the kangaroo. You tigers are all looks over substance. All that hunting and chasing must be extremely tiring - no wonder you sleep 20 hours a day, lazybones! At least us 'roos are real fighters. We were born boxers who fearlessly take on all comers with a fire &no one&to mess with' attitude. You cats just look pretty. We 'roos are the true rebels and wildones of the animal world. We live life on our own terms, with incredible toughness and a no-holds-barred mentality. You could never hack it in the Aussie Outback, Stripes. You'd be panting in the heat after 10 minutes. Meanwhile, us roos were born and bred in those harsh conditions - so we're the real ultimate survivors around here. Better put some shrimp on that barbie! You monkeys and kangaroos think you're so tough? Please, scoffed Mufasa the lion with a condescending glare. I was borninto true royalty and admired by humans since ancient Egyptian times. My family is the king of the Pride Lands and the rulers of the animal kingdom. We command complete respect and authority over all other beasts. Even the monkey and kangaroo think they're tough - how adorable! As the "king of beasts", we lions are the undisputed top dog of the animal world. Humans have worshiped us as symbols of power since the dawn of civilization. While you peasants bicker over who's the bigger scrap, we regal lions live a life of luxury and comfort while effortlessly keeping all of you in line through our mighty roars alone. Know your place beneath our rule.Know your place beneath lion rule? What a bunch of arrogant baloney!, Rufio the monkey shouted back while jumping up and down angrily. You dumb cats always think you're so superior to everyone else. But you'd be hopeless without your so-called "hunting prowess" provided by the lionesses. Meanwhile, us plucky and clever monkeys manage to survive and thrive in any environment using our incredible intelligence and dexterity.Sure, us tiny monkeys may look cute and harmless. But don't be fooled - when threatened we unleash a furious barrage of teeth, kicks and attacks with our built-in stun guns (you don'twant to get hit by a fired up monkey!). And brains will always win over brawn, which is why us monkeys will inherit the earth long after you dopey tigers, kangaroos and snobby lions have gone extinct. We represent the future! Just wait until we get our hands on some proper weapons and tools. Then you dumb beasts will be shaking in your stripes, tail and mane. Underestimate the small but fearsome monkey tribe at your own peril, roared Rufio as he bared his sharp teeth menacingly.ENOUGH! Shouted a new, deep and booming voice that shook the jungle. Who dares threatens the great Shere Khan?? I've just about had it with all of you foolish beasts running your mouths off about who is the strongest and most powerful animal. Children, please - you are all nothing compared to the true ruler and original king of the jungle.A massive silverback gorilla crashed through the trees, beating his chest furiously. You are in the presence of Tublat, lord of the apes and gorillas! We gorillas are the reigning heavyweight champions and strongest, most powerful primates in existence. While you all bicker like little babies over who gets to claim king status, us almighty gorillas were built like literal tanks and armed with the brute strength of 20 men. With a single swing of my arms, I can break every bone in your scrawny bodies. My canine teeth are like jagged serrated blades that can rip through flesh and bone. Forget about your silly tail swats and kicks - just one punch from these fists of fury would put you all into a coma. We gorillas are the TRUE apex predators around here, and we don't just talk the talk. At 500 pounds of pure chiseled muscle, I back up my unstoppable power through sheer size and overwhelming force.Did I mention our raw appetite for violence as well? If any of you mouthy little runts want to keep chirping about being the fi篇3A Composition by the Tiger, Kangaroo, Lion, and MonkeyHey there, teach! We're the crew of animals who have been tasked with writing this essay for your English class. I'm the tiger, and with me are my buddies: the kangaroo, the lion, and the mischievous monkey. We've put our heads together (well, except for the kangaroo, whose head is a bit too high up) to create an epic tale that will surely earn us an A+!We decided to write about our adventures in exploring the human world. It all started when the zookeeper accidentally left the gate open one night. Being the daring souls that we are, wecouldn't resist the opportunity to stretch our legs and see what lies beyond the confines of our cages. The first stop on our journey was the nearby town. Let me tell you, the humans sure do love their bright lights and loud noises! The kangaroo was particularly fascinated by the glowing rectangles that seemed to captivate the attention of so many people. "What sorcery is this?" he exclaimed, his eyes wide with wonder. As we ventured further into the town, the lion couldn't resist the alluring aroma wafting from a building labeled "Steakhouse." Being the king of the jungle, he insisted on leading the way inside. Needless to say, the patrons were quite startled to find a pride of animals sauntering in, demanding their share of the delectable morsels. While the lion was busy scarfing down every piece of meat in sight, the monkey and I decided to explore a little further. We stumbled upon a peculiar establishment called a "school." Intrigued, we snuck inside and found ourselves in a classroom filled with human younglings. The teacher, a kindly woman with spectacles perched on her nose, didn't seem too fazed by our presence. In fact, shewelcomed us with open arms and invited us to participate in the day's lesson. Who were we to refuse such a gracious offer? Thus began our foray into the world of education. The monkey, ever the mischievous one, couldn't resist causing a bit of chaos during the history lesson. He swung from the chandeliers, reenacting famous battles with remarkable accuracy (or so he claimed). The kangaroo, on the other hand, excelled at mathematics, solving complex equations by bouncing on his powerful legs.As for the lion and me, we found our calling in the realm of literature. The lion's booming voice was perfect for dramatic readings of Shakespeare's plays, while I lent my poetic prowess to dissecting intricate lines of verse. Our time at the school was a whirlwind of learning and laughter, but alas, all good things must come to an end. As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the day, we bid farewell to our newfound human friends and ventured back into the great unknown. Our next stop was a towering structure that the humans called a "mall." We were immediately dazzled by the vast array of shiny objects and tantalizing scents. The monkey, ever the opportunist, wasted no time in raiding the nearest clothing store, emerging with an ensemble that would make even the most fashionable human jealous. The kangaroo, drawn by the alluring aroma of fast food, hopped his way into a bustling restaurant. To the shock of the patrons, he proceeded to devour every last morsel of food in sight, leaving a trail of empty wrappers and bewildered faces in his wake.As for the lion and me, we found ourselves captivated by the glittering displays of jewelry. The lion, ever the regal creature, insisted on trying on every crown and necklace he could find. I, on the other hand, was more drawn to the intricate carvings and gemstones, admiring the craftsmanship of the human artisans. Our mall escapades。
