1My Amazing Trip to Dali, YunnanLast summer, my family and I went on a really exciting trip to Dali, which is a beautiful city in Yunnan Province in southwest China. Dali is famous for its stunning natural scenery, ancient historical sites, and unique ethnic minority culture. I had so much fun exploring all the incredible places there! The first stop on our trip was Erhai Lake, which is a massive lake right next to Dali's ancient city center. The lake is shaped like an ear, which is where it gets its name Erhai from - Er means "ear" in Chinese. We took a boat tour around part of the lake, and I was amazed by how crystal clear the water was. I could see all the way down to the bottom! Our tour guide told us that Erhai Lake is one of the most pristine lakes in all of China because the government works really hard to keep it clean. On the western side of Erhai Lake, there are tons of small villages where the Bai ethnic minority people live. The Bai people have their own language, customs, and style of uniquethree-sided houses and courtyards. We visited Xizhou Village, which felt like stepping back in time. The village is lined with narrow stone streets and traditional Bai architecture dating back hundreds of years. I loved walking around and peeking into all the little shops and gardens.Another super cool place we went was the Dali Ancient City, which has amazing old city walls and gates that are over 1,000 years old! Inside the Ancient City, the streets are made of cobblestones and the buildings all have beautiful carvings and details. We wandered through the lively markets selling delicious Yunnan snacks and handicrafts. My favorite part was checking out the bundle of small shops selling all kinds of fascinating antiques and trinkets. One day, we hiked up to the Three Pagodas, which are these gigantic ancient Buddhist pagodas perched high on a hill overlooking Dali. Each pagoda is several stories tall and has a unique design. I've never seen anything like them! The pagodas were built over 1,000 years ago during the Kingdom of Dali, and they're still just as magnificent today. From the top, we had an incredible view of Dali's stunning scenery with Erhai Lake shimmering in the background. We also spent a day visiting Cangshan Mountain, which towers over Dali with snowy peaks and lush green forests. We took a cable car partway up the mountain and hiked along winding trails through bamboo forests. At one point, we came across a beautiful hidden waterfall cascading down the mountain. I've never seen a waterfall that tall in real life before! My favorite experience was meeting some of the ethnic minority people who live in Dali and learning about their traditions. One morning, we visited a Bai ethnic village where the villagers showed us how they make delicious fried cheese snacks, weave colorful textiles on ancient looms, and handcraft intricate wooden masks used in their festivals. I even got to try out some of their traditional music instruments like the lusheng (a huge pipe instrument).Later, we attended an amazing performance showcasing the different ethnic dances and music of Yunnan's many minority groups. The dances were so vibrant and energetic, with dazzling costumes covered in tassels, bells, and embroidery. The music was very unique too, with a lot of unusual stringed and percussion instruments I had never seen before. It felt like getting a window into cultures that have been around for thousands of years.Overall, my trip to Dali was truly unforgettable. I experienced so many wondrous natural sights, ancient historical treasures, and rich cultural traditions. Dali is one of the most special, picturesque places I've ever been. From hiking up misty mountains and strolling through cobblestoned streets, to eating fried cheese snacks and watching ethnic dances, I made memories that will stick with me forever. I'm so grateful I got to experience the magic of Dali!篇2My Awesome Trip to Dali, Yunnan!Last summer, my family and I went on an amazing trip to Dali, a really cool city in Yunnan Province in southwest China. I had learned a little bit about Dali in school, but seeing it in person was a hundred times better! There were so many fun things to see and do. Let me tell you all about our incredible Dali adventure! Our first stop was the incredible Three Pagodas. These giant pagodas (which kind of look like super tall temples) are over 1,000 years old! They were built during the Ming Dynasty way back in the 800s. The Three Pagodas are right in the middle of Dali's Ancient Town which has a really awesome old city feel withlittle shops and markets everywhere. We walked all through the Ancient Town exploring the cute stores and stopping for yummy local snacks like crispy fried potato strips.Next up was the incredible Erhai Lake. This enormous lake is so huge it looks like an ocean! The water was the prettiest bright blue color. We took a boat tour all the way across to check out some of the little islands in the middle of the lake. On one island there was a whole village where the houses were built on stilts over the water. That was really cool to see! After the lake, we spent a day up in the Cangshan Mountains. We took a cable car wayyyy up to the top of the mountains which gave us an epic view over all of Dali below. The mountains themselves were like something out of a fairytale with pointy peaks covered in green forests and misty clouds. We went hiking along the trails through bamboo forests and past waterfalls. I saw tons of cool plants and animals I had never seen before. One of the highlights was visiting the Dali Xizhou Village. This village has been around for over 1,000 years and not much has changed! All the houses and buildings are so old with beautiful courtyards and gardens. We wandered through the little alleys checking out the old architecture. We also saw craftspeople making traditional batik prints and embroidery. Ieven got to try making a batik which was a lot harder than it looks!Another day we checked out some crazy cool temples and monasteries. The Chongsheng Temple was built way back in the 600s and had the biggest praying hall I've ever seen filled with giant Buddha statues. At the Qinghua Monastery we got to watch the monks doing their morning prayers and chanting. It was such a unique experience getting to learn about their traditions and culture. My absolutely favorite part though was the Dali Tie Dye Experience. This place taught us all about Dali's famous tie-dye handicrafts. First, we learned the history of how tie-dye came to Dali. Then we got to go through the entire process ourselves of tying, dying, and setting the designs. I made a shirt, a tote bag, and even dyed a scarf. I'm still wearing my creations to this day!I could keep going on and on about all the awesome stuff we did in Dali. We saw traditional dancing performances, visited museums about the Bai ethnic minority, and explored more markets than I can count. Every day was jam-packed with new adventures and learning experiences.Dali has to be one of the coolest, most fascinating places I've ever been. The scenery is out of this world with the beautifullakes, mountains, and lush greenery everywhere. But beyond just the gorgeous nature, the rich culture and history of Dali is truly incredible. I'll never forget wandering the ancient streets and seeing traditions that have been kept alive for over a thousand years. If you ever get the chance to visit Dali, you have to go! Maybe your family can plan a trip for your next school break. Just don't forget to pack some comfy walking shoes because you'll be busy exploring from morning until night. I'm already bugging my parents about when we can go back!篇3My Amazing Trip to Dali, Yunnan!Hi everyone! My name is Emma and I recently went on the most incredible trip to Dali in Yunnan Province, China with my family. Dali is such a beautiful and fascinating place - I can't wait to tell you all about it!We flew from Beijing to Kunming, the capital of Yunnan Province, and then took a bus for a few hours to get to Dali. As we got closer, I could see the stunning Cangshan Mountains out the window. The peaks were covered in bright green trees and the very tops had snow! Dali is located on a lovely plateau withthe mountains on one side and a big lake called Erhai on the other. The scenery was just breathtaking. Our first stop was the Ancient City of Dali, which is over1,000 years old! The old town is completely surrounded by an amazing stone wall with four gates. As we entered through one of the gates, it felt like we had traveled back in time! The streets were made of blue stone bricks and the architecture of the buildings was so unique and pretty.Everything inside the walls was so quaint and charming. There were tons of little shops selling all kinds of handicrafts like wooden carvings, embroidery, tie-dye clothing and artwork. The smells wafting from the street food stalls made my mouth water - I had to try some fried banana fritters and grilled meat skewers. They were delicious! My favorite part was exploring the residential neighborhoods. The traditional courtyard houses were absolutely gorgeous with their white-washed walls, intricate wooden carvings and courtyards full of colorful flowers. It was amazing to imagine families having lived in these homes for centuries. We also visited the Three Pagodas, which are one of the most famous sights in Dali. These giant pagodas wereconstructed over 1,000 years ago during the Nanzhao and Dali Kingdoms. Each one is a different shape and style but they are equally beautiful and ornately decorated. At night, they are dramatically lit up which makes them look even more spectacular. The next day, we took a boat tour across Erhai Lake which was so much fun! The water was a brilliant blue-green color and we could see the Cangshan Mountain range reflected perfectly on the surface. About halfway across the lake, we stopped at a tiny island with an interesting village and monastery. We wandered through the island's narrow alleys and gardens before continuing our boat ride.On our final day in Dali, we hiked part of the Cangshan Mountain trails. Even though we only went a short way, the views looking back at Erhai Lake and the Ancient City were incredible. The mountain air was so fresh and crisp. We saw wild monkeys swinging from the trees, colorful birds, and beautiful wildflowers everywhere. Hiking in those mountains was definitely the highlight of my trip.I had such an amazing time in Dali - it is one of the most picturesque and culturally fascinating places I've ever been. The combination of the Ancient City, Three Pagodas, Erhai Lake andCangshan Mountains make it a travel destination like nowhere else. The friendly local Bai people, delicious food and performing arts added to the richness of the experience.I feel so lucky to have had the chance to visit Dali at a young age. It opened my eyes to a completely different culture and way of life. The memories of wandering the cobblestone streets, enjoying the incredible scenery and meeting kind locals will stay with me forever. I can't wait to go back to Dali someday and explore even more!。
