Some people may think that smart computer users in the company will be more cost-effective, but experts from an IT consultancy are obviously more professional and the training may achieve better results. As for participants, I think companies should get as many of their people as possible to participate in computer training, not only those currently involved in the use of computers, but also those who seem to have nothing to do with computers at the moment. With computers becoming more and more popular, computer skills will soon become something very basic for survival in a workplace. In addition, equipping some staff members who are skillful in computers as on-site mentors is also important. 2020年商务英语高级口试试题及答案(卷十)

2020年商务英语高级口试试题及答案(卷十)Questions 15–20Read the following article on negotiating techniques and the question on the opposite page .For each question 15 –20 , mark one letter (A, B, C or D ) on your Answer Sheet for the answer you choose. The Negotiating Table:You can negotiate virtually anything. Projects, resources, expectations and deadlines are all outcomes of negotiation. Some people negotiate deals for a living. Dr Herb Cohen is one of these professional talkers, called in by companies to negotiate on their behalf . He approaches the art of negotiation as a game because, as he is usually negotiating for somebody else, he says this helps him drain the emotional content from his conversation. He is working in a competitive field and needs to avoid being too adversarial. Whether he succeeds or not, it is important to him to make a good impression so that people will recommend him.The starting point for any deal, he believes, is to identify exactly what you want from each other. More often than not, one party will be trying to persuade the other round to their point of view. Negotiation requires two people at the end saying ‘yes”. This can be a problem because one of them usually begins by saying “no”. However, althoughthis can make talks more difficult, this is often just a starting point in the negotiation game. Top management may well reject the idea initially because it is the safer option but they would not be there if they were not interested. It is a misconception that skilled negotiators are smooth operators in smart suits. Dr Cohen says that one of his strategies is to dress down so that the other side can relate to you. Pitch your look to suit your customer. You do not need to make them feel better than you but, For example, dressing in a style that is not overtly expensive or successful will make you more approachable. People will generally feel more comfortable with somebody who appears to be like them rather than superior to them. They may not like you but they will feel they can trust you.Dr Cohen suggests that the best way to sell your proposal is by getting into the world of the other side. Ask questions rather than give answers and take an interest in what the other person is saying, even if you think what they are saying is silly. You do not need to become their best friends but being too clever will alienate them. A lot of deals are made on impressions. Do not rush what you are saying---put a few hesitations in , do not try to blind them with your verbal dexterity. Also, you should repeat back to them what they have said to show you take them seriously.Inevitably some deals will not succeed. Generally the longer the negotiations go on, the better chance they have because people do not want to think their investment and energies have gone to waste. However , joint venture can mean joint risk and sometimes , if this becomes too great , neither party may be prepared to see the deal through . More common is a corporate culture clash between companies, which can put paid to any deal. Even having agreed a deal, things may not be tied up quickly because when the lawyers get involved, everything gets slowed down as they argue about small details.De Cohen thinks that children are the masters of negotiation. Their goals are totally selfish. They understand the decision-making process within families perfectly. If Mum refuses their request , they will troop along to Dad and pressure him. If al else fails, they will try the grandparents, using some emotional blackmail. They can also be very single-minded and have an inexhaustible supply of energy for the cause they are pursuing. So there are lesson to be learned from watching and listening to children.15. Dr Cohen treats negotiation as a game in order toA put people at easeB remain detachedC be competitiveD impress rivals。

2020年商务英语高级口试试题及答案(卷六)

2020年商务英语高级口试试题及答案(卷六)Corporate Sponsorship 企业赞助PART ONE: INTERVIEW(1) What sports events do you think companies should be involved in sponsoring? (Why?)你认为企业应该赞助哪些体育赛事?(为什么?)I think companies should sponsor big sports events, like the Olympic games or national sports games, because these events are great attractions to people all over the world or the country. There will be wide coverage by the mass media. So there will be lots of exposure opportunities for the products they wish to advertise.(2) Do you think that sponsorship is the most effective from of advertising? (Why?/Why not?)你是否认为赞助是最有效的广告宣传方式?(为什么?)Yes. In my opinion, most people find advertising too direct and offensive, they regard advertising as an insidious(诡诈的) form of brainwashing, so people tend to avoid or even resist them. But sponsorship is a much cleverer way of advertising, people have all their attention on the games and don’t seem to realize that they are being brainwashed.(3) Besides sports events, what other kinds of activities or programmes do you think companies can sponsor? (Why?)除了体育项目,你认为企业还可以赞助哪些其他活动?(为什么?)I think companies can also sponsor education. In doing so, they are taking on an important responsibility towards society. This will promote a very positive image and reinforce the company’s position as a good corporate citizen.(4) Do you think that in the future companies will make more use of sponsorship as a marketing strategy? (Why?/Why not?)你是否认为将来企业会更多地把赞助作为一种营销策略?(为什么?)Yes. I think advertisers are going to rely more and more on techniques such as sponsorship in the years to come. Sponsorship can not only help to advertise products, but also create a unique bond between the company and the public. It’s a more effective way of consolidating the existing clientele base and increasing new customer potential.PART TWO: MINI-PRESENTATIONWhat’s important when…?Considering to sponsor a sports event 赞助一场体育比赛需考虑哪些要点?l Target audience 目标观众l Media coverage 媒体报道lWell, in this case, the priority concern is to define the target audience. We cannot assume that everybody will watch the game, we have to narrow down the major characteristics of our target audience. I mean, we have to ask “Are these really the people we’re after?”“Do they make up our targeted market?”Then we’ll be able to match up our product with the event.Next, we have to consider media coverage. Big audiences don’t necessarily translate to good sales. The decisive factor is gaining positive media exposure. If the event you sponsor receives extensive media coverage, it will bring the company and their products within public focus, and enhance company brand, product, service loyalties. Finally, we also need to look at other competitors and make efforts to distinguish our company from other sponsors, otherwise our brand name will be buried in all this clutter of brand promotion. And of course, costs should also be considered.在这种情况下,优先考虑的是明确目标观众。
