1.0 Introduction

1.1 The purpose of report

The main purpose of this report is to promote the new office energy saving project. And another purpose is to explain a range of ideas and to invite more people take part in the action of using green offices.

1.2 Terms of reference

The report is submitted to the general manager. It is hoped that the general manager adopt measures of this report to make the company greener. The report will cover the background of the company, the ways to save energy and the importance of saving energy.

1.3 Background information

On the development path of industrialization, China suffered the imbalance in economic development between resource utilization and environmental protection. According to statistics, from 2005 to 2006, China's energy consumption per unit of gross domestic product increased by 5.5%. First half of 2007, energy consumption per unit of GDP fell by 2.1% .However, environmental pollution has become a serious harm to the health of people and the factors that affect social stability. In this context, the energy industry in China will have a lasting and far-reaching economic and social impact.

In 2010, China's GDP energy consumption dropped to 1.2 tons of standard coal. During the "Twelfth Five-Year". China reduced 10% emissions of major pollutants. From 2010 to 2005, the state should reduce the amount of 25.49 million tons of sulfur dioxide emissions and chemical oxygen demand (COD) needs to be reduced to 12.73 million tons. The national sewage treatment rate is higher than 70% and the comprehensive utilization rate of industrial solid waste needs to reach 60 %. ❶

A questionnaire was completed by those who were surveyed in the project.

Plenty of books on "Principles and Applications." were consulted.
