If your answer i s “yes”, here are some suggestions for you.1. Talk with your pet.Although your pet may not exactly understand your words, he can at least pick up on the tone of your words and your body language when you talk to him. For example, if you speak with him in a stern voice, he might pick up on the fact that you are unhappy with his behavior.2. Use non-verbal(非语言的) communication.Your non-verbal communication is just as important as verbal communication. Non-verbal communication is often used in training your pet to do a certain activity. For example, if you are sitting on your horse, you would use your legs and hands to command your horse to turn around. When you teach your dog to sit, you would actually combine verbal and non-verbal communication (hand signals) to give him the ‘sit’ co mmand.3. Avoid punishing your pet.Punishing your pet is never a good idea. Punishment can make your pet fearful of you and possibly lose trust and respect that he has for you. Things went according to plan for the first two days, with the three spending hours hiking through the beautiful forest and drifting down the river. However, on June 16, Father’s Day, when t he backpackers reached the waterfall(瀑布) of which Whitson had planned for the group to rappel (绕绳下降) down the side, Whitson realized that the water currents were too strong to navigate across. Moreover, the rope he was expecting them to use was missing. Since trekking back the way they had e along was dangerous as well, Whitson and his son tried to seek other routes to get around the waterfall but failed. “It was an unpredictable area,”Whitson said. “It was slippery and just too dangerous to risk. We deci ded it was better to be safe than sorry.” The backpackers knew they would be missed in the near future by their friends whom they were scheduled to meet up with at the campgrounds the following day, but Whitson was concerned that his friends, not realizing the urgency of the situation, would wait a day or two before alerting officials. With food running low and no cellphone reception, the three tried yelling each time they heard voices, which didn’t work, and sending a dated message in a water bottle. After throwing the bottle down the waterfall, they got back up the river to a small beach to camp out for the night. Before settling down, they spelled out “SOS” on a blue cloth using white rocks. To ensure it could be seen at night, they kept the sign illuminated with a headlamp (头灯). Sometime after midnight, the three adventurers were found by a rescue helicopter.Due to the darkness, the three were not picked up until the morning of June 17, 2019, shortly after which, they discovered that two hikers had stepped on their water bottle and, upon seeing the message, reported the issue to the officials at the Arroyo Seco campground. “I can’t thank them enough,” Whitson says.76. They thought it was a trick at first.B. They found it hard to make out the information.C. They both joined the rescue later.D. They took it seriously and reacted quicklyCWhenever I start a presentation about water governance, I ask the audience if they know what the price of a litre of tap water (一升自来水) is. Usually the room goes quiet, and only a few make a guess, usually an overestimate. My next question is about the price of a litre of petrol (汽油), to which I get the right answer from the audience within a split second. In developed countries, with drinking water readily available everywhere, most people do not realize just how important water really is.Water is an important issue, yet at the same time it cannot be singled out as it is part of the wider environmental story which tells us about the interdependences and linksbetween water and other sectors(领域;部门), such as agriculture, energy, forestry, manufacturing, and waste disposal.Effective water governance is therefore necessary for successful climate change adaptation. Water governance describes the steering ( 导向), coordination and decisionmaking processes of actors to govern water, which includes laws, regulations, public participation and education, with policy (政策) makers, regulators, water panies, nongovernmental organizations and consumers each playing a role.Water governance faces challenges. A key issue is uncertainty due to climate change: we simply do not know if and when the potential effects of climate change will happen, and to what e xtent. So we need “adaptive water governance”, meaning water governance needs to be flexible in order to adapt to uncertainties. Laws and policies should not be set in stone, but reviewed at regular intervals to account for the latest research results or practical experience.Another key issue to overe is the “silomentality” — the noncollaboration across policy sectors, for instance among water, urban planning, agriculture and energy — which we often find in environmental governance. Even within water governance, we often find that flooding and drought policy teams operate separately from each other and are not looking at the issue from an integrated point of view.Water governance is challenging, but there’re many positive examples available. For instan ce, in the Netherlands we find “watersquares”, public places shaped like a bathtub that function both as a playground and as a reserve area for water that runs over after a heavy rain event. It is those cobenefits, being good for climate change adaptation as well as performing another function such as recreation, creating jobs, or restoring wildlife, that are key.81. What does the example in Paragraph 1 indicate?A. People lack water awareness.B. The price of water is unreasonably low.C. Petrol is more valuable to people than water.D. Water governance is a difficult topic to discuss.82. What do you know about water governance?A. It’s the key to climate change adaptation.B. It requires a diversity of actors to be involved.C. The main approach is making laws and regulationsD. The government and water panies take the leading role.83. How to govern water in the face of climate change?A. Stick to the established practices.B. Keep updating the laws and policies.C. Set different standards for different regions.D. Act based on practical experience instead of laws and policies.84. What is much needed for the benefit of water governance?A. The “silomentality”.B. Public participation and education.C. Policy sectors and teams working with each other.D. Abandoning present policies and looking for new approaches.85. Inspired by the Netherlands’ practice, the author thinks water governance ____.A. should be closely connected to our daily lifeB. should include water reserves for future useC. could take advantage of public facilitiesD. should serve bined purposes。

It was bigger than I imagined, the impact on my body was huge. But every time I felt like giving up,I thought about all the women out there in pain or who still hadn’t been diagnosed. That is why I put myself through this.”Andrea had to swim 23 miles around Lake Annecy, cycle 205 miles with 30,000 feet of vertical climbing around Mont Blanc, and run 105 miles with 4,000 feet of vertical climbing around The Ultra-Trail du Mont Blanc. He wasn’t aware that he might wear himself out or die an early death until he overslept one morning, which was a sort of alarm. And then what happened? He had a week’s leave during which time he read novels, listened to music and walked with his wife on a beach, which has enabled Richard to return to work again. In our modern life, we have lost the rhythm between action and rest. Amazingly, within this world there is a universal but silly saying: “I am so busy.”We say this to one another as if our tireless efforts were a talent by nature and an ability to successfully deal with stress. The busier we are, the more important we seem to ourselves and, we imagine, to others. To be unavailable to our friends and family, and to be unable to find time to relax — this has become the model of a successful life.Because we do not rest, we lose our way. We miss the guide telling us where to go, the food providing us with strength, the quiet giving us wisdom. How have we allowed this to happen? I believe it is this: we have forgotten the Sabbath, the day of the week —for followers of some religions — for rest and praying. It is a day when we are not supposed to work, a time when we devote ourselves to enjoying and celebrating what is beautiful. It is a good time to bless our children and loved ones, give thanks, share meals, walk and sleep. It is a time for us to take a rest, to put our work aside, trusting that there are larger forces at work taking care of the world.Rest is s spiritual and biological need; however, in our strong ambition to be successful and care for our many responsibilities, we may feel terribly guilty when we take time to rest. The Sabbath gives us permission to stop work. In fact, “Remember the Sabbath” is more than simply permission to rest; it is a rule to obey and a principle to follow.46.What’s the function of the paragraph 1?A.To tell us that Richard lives a healthy life.B.To bring up the topic of the passage.C.To give us a brief introduction of RichardD.To tell Richard is a successful businessman.47.The “alarm” in the first paragraph refers to “_______”.A.a signal of stressB.a warning of dangerC.a sign of ageD.a spread of disease48.According to Paragraph 3, a successful person is one who is believed to _______.A.be able to work without stressB.be more talented than other peopleC.be more important than anyone elseD.be busying working without time to rest 49.According to the passage during the Sabbath, what we should do except _____.A.Praying for our family.B.Taking a good break.C.Only working for two hours.D.Enjoying delicious meal.50.What is the main idea of this passage?A.We should balance work with rest.B.The Sabbath gives us permission to rest.C.It is silly for anyone to say “I am busy.”D.We should be available to our family and friends. It’s school time again! You’re probably feeling excited and maybe a little sad that summer is over. Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and even a new school. Luckily, these “new” worries only stick around for a little while. Let’s find out more about going to a new school. Most teachers kick off the new school year by year introducing themselves and talking about all the stuff you’ll be doing that year. Some teachers give students a chance to tell something about themselves to the rest of the class, too. When teachers do the talking on the first day, they o ften go over classroom rules and school rules, so you’ll know what’s allowed and what’s not. Please pay close attention. You might already know a lot of people in your classes on the first day, but it’s a great day to make a new friend, so try to say hello to kids you know and new ones that you don’t. Make the first move and you’ll be glad you did, and so will have your new friends!Seeing friends you haven’t seen for a while can make the first day a good one. You can make the day feel special by wearing clothes that you really like. Maybe you got a great T-shirt on one of your vacations, or a pair of sneakers(运动鞋). It also can make you feel good to be prepared and have all the things you need, such as pencils, folders, and whatever else you’ll be needing. But make sure that you pack them the night before in case you don’t have time in the morning.51.The underlined phrase “kick off” in the second paragraph probably means__________.A.startB.studyC.findD.teach52.The last paragraph mainly tells us about __________.A.what to know about a new schoolB.how to prepare for a new schoolC.what to do on your first day of schoolD.how to spend your first day of school53.According to the passage you usually do everything the first day of school. He would look up and smile when he saw me and pat the chair next to him for me to sit down. He loved to tell me about his lost golden years when he was an excellent baseball player. I was a good listener. After a couple of hours of talking, I would shake his hands and say goodbye to him. I hoped that I brought a little sunshine into Walter's life.I met Walter when I was a high school student participating in a volunteer program with elderly people in a nursing home. It was the first of many such activities, ranging from playing with disabled children to sitting with cancer patients in a hospital. These activitiesseemed to satisfy my desire to be useful and to feel a meaningful connection to the lives of others. My parents inculcated me with a belief that there was no greater human value than kindness, and encouraged me to make helping others and contributing to society important goals in life. V olunteer work provided a way of attempting to realize the truth of these messages.I learned that volunteerism is not a one-way act of helping someone less fortunate. Involvement in the life of another person has enriched my life as well. Seeing how people deal with the challenges of their lives has taught me valuable lessons in courage and dignity. Many of the people whom I have met as a volunteer are an unforgettable part of my life. Perhaps I received far more than I ever gave. This is why volunteerism works — each of us has so much need for human connection and so much to give to others.56.What did the author do every time he visited Walter? Tired of being behind schedule? Here are some important work tips that you can follow to improve your productivity.Focusing on One TaskSome people have the habit of multitasking, which is great, but it might distract you from the bigger picture. Multitasking might help you with different tasks. You might also feel like the jack of all trades (万事通) but your productivity won’t increase in the long run.Focus on one task at a time and this will allow you to complete that task with high standards. When the task is done, you can move on to the next one.Setting Small but Effective GoalsYou will be given large and challenging tasks at work and what matters is how you deal with them. Stress might be the normal response here but you can also play it smart. You can break any large task into small but manageable tasks, which will help you stay productive and will also make the best of time.Think of it like building blocks and you will have to focus on one small task at a time but the end result will be fascinating.Setting Self-Imposed (自己强加的) DeadlinesSetting self-imposed deadlines can actually help you be more productive at work Stress is a bad thing, but self-imposed stress can actually help us focus and be better. You can do really well with open-ended tasks or projects once you give yourself a deadline. Stick to that deadline and you will be surprised by the miracles that you can perform at work.Trying Following the “Two-Minute” RuleSteve Olenski is one of the finest entrepreneurs to date and he has given wonderful advice in the shape of the “Two-Minute” Rule. The “Two-Minute” Rule is basically about making the best out of small windows at work. Olenski tells us that if there is a task at work, and you can do it in 2 minutes, then you do it immediately. When you complete that small task, you don’t actually have to waste more time getting back to it, which also increases your productivity.36.By focusing on one task, you may________.A.feel like the jack of all trades B.finish that task with high standardsC.distract yourself from the bigger picture D.reduce your work efficiency37.What is the author’s suggestion for handling difficult tasks?A.Respond to them tensely.B.Make a plan in advance.C.Break them into manageable ones.D.Focus on the results all the time. 38.You can do well with open-ended tasks or projects if you________.A.learn to take a break B.perform miracles at workC.impose a deadline on yourself D.compare them to building blocks 39.What is TRUE about the “Two-Minute” Rule?A.It involves doing a small task without delay.B.It applies to all kinds of tasks.C.It is criticized by Steve Olenski.D.It requires getting back to tasks. 40.What is the author’s purpose in writing this passage?A.To share his work experience with the reader.B.To point out the importance of time management.C.To introduce the ways of achieving goals.D.To offer tips on enhancingproductivity. As she was waiting for her flight at a Chengdu airport, Cai Xiao noticed several tiny dead yellow birds lying on the ground outside an enormous window at the two-story terminal building. Deeply saddened by her discovery, Cai took photos of the dead animals and emailed them to a nationwide scientific survey of bird-window collisions(撞击)that aims to gather data to provide evidence of the existence of this issue in China.Li Binbin, an assistant professor of Environmental Sciences at Duke Kunshan University in Jiangsu province, led the survey, working with several Chinese bird-watching societies starting from March this year. She said that, so far, they have found bird collisions recorded in most parts of the country, and of the 26 species involved, two-thirds were migratory birds(候鸟).In order to pursue the transparency(透明度)of space, mankind has put up countless glass buildings, creating a disaster for birds, which have trouble seeing glass. They see reflections in glass as open space and fly into it at full speed. Sometimes birds appear to recover from their injuries and fly away, but they may later suffer internal injuries that leads to death. In the United States, up to 1 billion birds die each year from hitting windows. Although there is a lack of data, scientists estimate that the number is similar in China, given that thecountry's east coast is on a major migratory route for birds.Li launched the survey after witnessing a dozen bird collisions on campus. In 2018, the scholar and her students delivered a report to the university, recommending that it replace windows where most of the collisions happened. The school authorities worried that such an effort would damage the aesthetics(美观)of the buildings. After several discussions, they finally decided to use stickers to decorate windows and reduce glass reflections, Li recalled. This simple effort resulted in collisions at the site being reduced to almost zero.In the design plan for the future campus project, Li saw that several of her suggestions were adopted: lowering the use of large windows;adding window designs with strips or other patterns to reduce reflections. For those concerned with the issue, the main question is how to raise awareness of the problem. Li said the first step should be to gather enough data. So far, more than 130 individuals and 33 birding societies have reported bird collisions to her survey. 41.According to Para. 1, what happened at the airport?A.Some yellow birds were lying on the ground.B.Cai sent the dead birds to a nationwide scientific survey of bird-window collisions.C.Cai found that some birds had been killed by window collisions.D.Cai missed her flight because of the bird collisions.42.What can be concluded from Para. 3?A.The purpose of putting up more glass buildings is to blind birds.B.All the birds were killed instantly.C.The birds would like to fly into glass to see their reflections.D.Glass buildings could easily cause bird collisions.43.What can we learn from Para. 5?A.Li and her students' report saved a lot of birds.B.The school authorities refused to damage the aesthetics of the buildings.C.Finally, Li and her students used stickers to decorate windows and reduce glassreflections.D.The school authorities replaced windows where most of the collisions happened. 44.What is the main problem in reducing bird collisions in China at present?A.How to draw people's attention to this issue?B.There are too many glass buildings.C.How to reduce glass reflections?D.How to reduce bird collisions without damaging the aesthetics of the buildings? 45.What could be the best title for the passage?A.The Trouble with Glass Buildings B.Ways to Protect BirdsC.A Survey of Bird-window Collisions D.Fly to the ReflectionOne of our biggest fears nowadays is that our kids might someday get lost in a “sea of technology” rather than experiencing the natural world. Fear-producing TV and computer games are leading to a serious disconnect between kids and the great outdoors, which will change the wild places of the world, its creatures and human health for the worse, unless adults get working on child’s play. Each of us has a place in nature we go sometimes, even if it was torn down. We cannot be the last generation to have that place. At this rate, kids who miss the sense of wonder outdoors will not grow up to be protectors of natural landscapes. “If the decline in parks use continues across North America, who will defend parks against encroachment (蚕食)?” asks Richard Louv, author of Last Child in the Woods.Without having a nature experience, kids, can turn out just fine, but they are missing out a huge enrichment of their lives. That applies to everything from their physical health and mental health, to stress levels, creativity and cognitive (认知的) skills. Experts predict modern kids will have poorer health than their parents — and they say a lack of outside play is surely part of it; research suggests that kids do better academically in schools with a nature component and that play in nature fosters (培养) leadership by the smartest, not by the toughest. Even a tiny outdoor experience can create wonder in a child. The three-year-old turning over his first rock realizes he is not alone in the world. A clump of trees on the roadside can be the whole universe in his eyes. We really need to value that more.Kids are not responsible. They are over-protected and frightened. It is dangerous out there from time to time, but repetitive stress from computers is replacing breaking an arm as a childhood rite (仪式) of passage.Everyone, from developers, to schools and outdoor citizens, should help regain for our kids some of the freedom and joy of exploring, taking friendship in fields and woods that cement love, respect and need for landscape. As parents, we should devote some of our energies to taking our kids into nature. This could yet be our greatest cause.46.The main idea of Paragraph 2 is that ________.A.kids miss the sense of wonder outdoorsB.parks are in danger of being gradually encroachedC.Richard Louv is the author of Last Child in the WoodsD.children are expected to develop into protectors of nature47.According to the passage, children without experiencing nature will ________.A.be less healthy both physically and mentallyB.be over-protected by their parentsC.keep a high sense of wonderD.change wild places and creatures for the better48.According to the author, children’s breaking an arm is ________.A.the fault on the part of their parentsB.the natural experience in their growing upC.the result of their own carelessness in playD.the effect of their repetitive stress from computers49.What does the underlined word “cement” in the last paragraph mean?A.Weaken.B.Strengthen.C.Lower.D.Decease. 50.In writing this passage, the author mainly intends to ________.A.blame children for getting lost in computer gamesB.encourage children to protect parks from encroachmentC.show his concern about children’s lack of experience in natureD.inspire children to keep the sense of wonder about things aroundLack is a matter of preparation meeting opportunity," said the American talk show host Oprah Winfrey. I've never watched her show, but when a self-made billionaire gives life advice it' s probably worth listening to.Her point is that blind luck is very rare. You may have to be lucky to find a good job these days but that does not mean you should sit at home waiting for the opportunity to come to you. If you're a Chinese, you may already be familiar with the tale of a farmer waiting by a tree stump(树桩)for a rabbit to run out and break its neck.Richard Wiseman, the UK psychologist, conducted an experiment as part of his studies. First he divided volunteers into two groups: those who said they were lucky in life and thosewho said they were not. He gave everyone a newspaper and asked them to look through it to count how many photographs it had inside. On average, the unlucky people took about two minutes to count the photographs while the lucky people took just seconds. Why? On the second page of the newspaper, a command, "Stop counting There are 43 photographs in this newspaper," was written in big letters. The unlucky people mostly did not spot the message. It's easy to compare this situation to a young person looking for jobs in a local paper. They might search so hard for one type of position that they miss an even better opportunity. People who are "lucky", in fact, keep an open mind and don't go through the same routine every day.I first came to China in 2002 when it was considered a rather strange thing to do, Like many foreigners, my plan was to teach English for one year. Seven years later, and still here, I've had many great opportunities such as writing for newspapers and magazines. I did not dream these would have been possible. I've also never been sick, had an accident, got into a fight or had problems with the police. Coincidence? After reading about Professor Wiseman's studies I think not.As Wiseman advises, I usually trust my own judgment. Your friends and parents may give you advice based on rational(理性)thinking, but it's important to consider how you feel about each choice you make. Your feeling acts as a warning for a potential problem. Finally, try to turn bad luck into good. Even if you do fall down and break a leg, the time spent at home can be used wisely to study English.51.What do you know about Oprah Winfrey?A.She is a good organizer of a talk show in America.B.She became famous through her family background.C.She was lucky and seldom fell flat on her face.D.She became successful entirely by her own effort.52.The writer quoted the Chinese tale of a farmer in order to show________.A.luck is in your own handB.bad luck can turn into goodC.you can't wait for an opportunityD.man can conquer nature53.From the experiment Wiseman drew the conclusion that________.A.lucky people are quick-mindedB.unlucky people are slow to readC.lucky people often have an open mindD.unlucky people are not routineers54.The underlined word "spot" is the closest in meaning to "________”.A.recognize B.mark C.make D.receive 55.Which of the following proverbs most agrees with the writer's point?A.Make the best of a bad situation.B.Rome was not built in a day.C.All is not gold that glitters.D.A good heart conquers ill fortune.四、阅读表达阅读下面短文,按照要求用英语回答问题。

African grey owners often report that their greys oftentimes talk in context and can understand their people’s emotions. The African grey parrot is not just a top talker — this bird is also known for its extreme intelligence, which gives it the name “The Einstein s of the bird world”.The bird is medium-sized, dusty-looking and almost pigeon-like. It has a bright red tail, intelligent orange eyes, and a stunning scalloped (扇形的) pattern to its feathers. Its diet in the wild consists mostly of nuts, seeds, fruits, and leafy matter. At home, African greys need plenty of toys that challenge their intelligence, such as food searching and puzzle toys. Nutri-Berries by Lafeber Company are a perfect choice, which, with a balance of grains, seeds and other nutrients in the shape of a berry, encourages African greys to hold, bite off, and even do other things, just as they do in the wild.African greys seem especially affected by stress and disturbing noise in their environment and can be put more at ease by placing one corner of the cage against a wall compared to in the middle of a room.African grey parrots are more likely to suffer from lack of vitamin A/beta-carotene, and therefore benefit from eating vegetables high in beta-carotene, such as cooked sweet potato and fresh kale. Lack of vitamin D is another concern, especially for greys on a poor diet. Offering a balanced, pill-shaped diet, such as Nutri-Berries, helps prevent vitamin and mineral shortage.23.Why are African grey parrots called “The Einstein s of the bird world”?A.Due to their talking ability.B.Because of their brain size.C.Owing to their rich emotions.D.On account of their intelligence.24.What can “Nutri-Berries” probably be?A.A type of round fruit.B.Puzzle toys for birds.C.A brand of bird food.D.Wild intelligence games.25.What is the characteristic of African grey parrots?A.They are smart and love to have fun.B.They are dusty-looking with blue eyes.C.They seldom get ill despite the lack of vitamin.D.They prefer to stay in the middle of a room.26.Where can we most probably find the text?A.In a travel guide.B.In science fiction.C.On a shopping website.D.In a wildlife magazine.Take a look inside a high school classroom. You will most likely find a teacher at the front of the class and students sitting at their desks. Yet, look closer, and you might notice a familiar scene: many of these students are not paying attention. Instead, they are dozing off (打盹) or even completely asleep.Today, the majority of high school students are not getting enough sleep. This is a serious problem, especially as students are doing more than ever with their time. They come to school early, spend hours listening to teachers and taking tests, then run off to practices and meetings, and come home to be faced with even more work. And the homework load these days is not light; teachers give hours’ worth of homework each night. Most kids need at least nine hours of sleep per night in order to function properly. Yet the period of this nine hours shifts as a child gets older. After puberty (青春期), the body’s internal clock changes so that it is difficult for teens to fall asleep before 11 p.m. So even if a student falls asleep at eleven, they would need to sleep until at least 8 am, to get a full night’s sleep. Considering the time at which most high schools in this country begin, those nine hours are clearly being shortened. Few high schools start after 8 a.m.However, there are schools that have paid attention to this research and pushed backward the start of their school day. In schools where the start time is after 8:30 in the morning, the teachers believe that there has been a real change in their students. They note that the students miss class less, pay more attention in class, perform better in class, and report lower levels of depression. The researchers of these studies say that the results are quite important and that more schools should consider pushing backward their start time of their school day.27.Which of the following would the author agree with?A.High school students must go to bed before 10 p.m.B.High schools should begin their school day at a later time.C.Most schools should push forward the start of their school day.D.Kids should shorten their sleep time gradually as they grow older.28.The second paragraph mainly discusses ________.A.why high school students should get more sleepB.what’s life like for college students at presentC.why high school students feel sleepy in the classroomD.how to lighten high school students’ homework load29.The underlined word “shifts” probably means “________”.A.arrives B.reduces C.increases D.changes 30.How do the teachers probably feel about the results of pushing backward the start of their school day?A.Disappointed.B.Satisfied.C.Puzzled.D.Surprised.三、完形填空I come from a long line of farmers. I have for as long as I can remember. I always had ardour in reading, sometimes reading up to three books a day as a child. Stories were like air to me and while other kids played ball or went to parties, I lived out adventures through the books I checked out from the library. My first job was working at the Ukiah Library when I was 16 years old. It was a dream job and I did everything from shelving books to reading to the children for story time.As I became a mother, the library took on an added meaning. I had several children and books were our main source of entertainment. It was a big deal for us to load up and go to the local library, where my kids could pick out books to read or books they wanted me to read to them. It was a special time to bond with my children and it filled them with the wonderment of books. Now, I see my children taking their children to the library and I love that the excitement of going to the library lives on from generation to generation. As a novelist, I've found a new relationship with libraries. I encourage readers to go to their local library when they can't afford to purchase a book. I see libraries as a safe haven (避风港) for readers and writers. Libraries, in their own way, help fight book piracy (盗版行为) and I think all writers should support libraries in a significant way when they can. Encourage readers to use the library.
