一、课程性质、目的与任务

课程性质 :本课程是海洋化学专业学科通修课程，是海洋化学专业课的重要组成之一。目的任务 :在完成,年公共英语学习的基础上，通过选用原版外文教材和有关课外材料的学习，掌握海洋学和海洋化学专业基本英语单词，熟悉海洋科学科技英语的表达方式，提高阅读海洋科学专业英语文献的能力;通过课文朗读和课堂回答问题，提高英语口头表达能力;完成与教材有关的汉译英练习，提高英语写作能力，为学年论文和毕业论文打下良好基础。二、教学基本要求

着重提高学生的英语阅读能力:选用语言表达简洁、专业内容合适的大学海洋学教程作为教材。该教材内容包括海水组成和海洋药物学相关内容。要求学生通过该教材化学过程部分的学习，了解与其内容有关的英语单词和表达方式。此外，补充课外阅读材料，选用介绍科研成果、专业性更强的期刊文献和专著文章，提高英语阅读的能力。三、考核方式:笔试( 闭卷)
