O VERVIEW概述:

It is expected that SAM’S Club International Operations will triple our sales over the next 5 years. In order to prepare ourselves for this growth we must have a consistent Management Structure that is supported by Training and Developmental Programs.

The objectives of establishing a consistent management structure are important, and require the understanding, execution, and support of our Country Managers and Directors of Operations to be successful.

Improve communication between the Bentonville Home Office, in-country Home Offices, and our clubs.

After completing the MIT program, an assistant manager will be promoted to Receiving Manager. They will remain in this position until they have demonstrated the necessary knowledge and leadership abilities to be promoted to the next level in the career path (Operations Manager). All promotion decisions will be by the club GM and the Director of Operations.

When you have a position open to fill, you should not necessarily promote candidates available from just within the club, but within the region or country.

Example: If you have a Marketing Manager position open to fill, you should evaluate all current Operations Managers and offer the position to the manager who is the best performer, even if it requires they transfer to another city.

It is important to use extreme discipline and follow the structure 100% - success demands consistency in Assistant Managers’ experience in every position and level of development.

Any time an Assistant Manager has been selected for a position that requires “skipping” a position or level of development (i.e. promoting from Receiving Manager to Marketing Manager), approval MUST be given from the Country Operations Directors AND the Human Resource Director.

Clubs with annual volume over $60 million will be authorized for 2 Merchandise Managers (Food and General Merchandise)

The Fresh Department Assistant Manager will report to the Merchandise Manager (see Fresh Department structure, next page).

Clubs with weekly meat sales over $100,000 and bakery volume over $25,000 will be authorized 2 Fresh Dept. Assistant Managers.

S UPPORT T EAM支持队伍:

Each club should have an hourly support team member that can assist in the absence of management. (Details on the responsibilities of this position will be available later.)
