i have no arms and no legs, but i’m very thankful that i have my little chicken

drumstick. there were times when i sort of looked at my life, and thinking “i can’

t do this” or “i can’t do that”, and you keep on concentrating on the things

that you wish you had or the things you wish you didn’t have. and you sort of forget

what you do have. there’s no point, i believe in my life where i wish i had arms

and legs, i wish i had arms and legs because wishing wouldn’t help. what i’ve

seen in life are just a couple key principles. and the first thing i’ve seem is to

be thankful. it’s hard to be thankful when i was 8 years old, i sort of summed up

my life and thought: i’m never going to get married. i’m not going to have a job.

i’m not going to have a life of purpose. what kind of husband am i going to be if

i can’t even hold my wife’s hands life is life. life is an interesting journey of ups and downs. but how that journey

ends, is up to you today. you see when you fall down, you feel like giving up. when

times get tough, it’s not the end. the question is “are you going to finish strong”

the definition of a disability is something that will hinder you from being able to

do something. i think, though, the greatest disability is not having no arms and no

legs. the greatest disability is your mind, the choices that you make. the question

is: are you going to make the right choices are you going to make the choice, to

have your life in its right perspective are you going to make the choice, to get

up instead of give up are you going to make the choice, to dream big there is no

greater disability that we have in our life than to make the decision to give up.

because once you give up, then there is no hope.

but until you give up, there is that

hope.

my passion is to encourage people, to inspire people to be all that they can be.

i found my purpose, i found my strength, and i want you to find yours. don’t be afraid

of failing, every time you fall down, every time you fail, you learn something new.

you’re ready for the next one, you’ve learned how not to do something, well then,

Part 1“See the Body” Thank you, thank you very much. Good morning everybody. Students: Morning! Morning, how are you doing? Students: Good. You are fine? Students: Yeah. Oh sweet, nice to see you. My name is Nick Vujicic and it’s a pleasure t o be with you. I have a wheel chair over there. It’s my BMW 7 series. I am gonna take it to pimp my ride (翻新)and get some spinning rims on it. And you know those fully pimped cars you know with hydraulic and stuff, you know how they’re downs and around stu ff. I wanna give my wheel chair bouncing. Why? Like i f I can cross the road and go bang bang bang! It’s really cool driving that thing around. I have no arms and no legs and I was actually born this way. And There is no medical reason why this has happened. So I have no limbs, but I have a little chicken drumstick. And we call this chicken drumstick, because first of all it looks like one and second of all sometimes my dog thinks it’s one. And I tell you man so funny he comes up to start biting on that. I have to hit him in the head a couple of times. It’s nuts man. It’s so cool man. I love to swim as well and I actually float like a life jacket. I float upright like this and then I have my little motor down here and I go whirr and that’s right. And it’s so f unny when people see me for the first time. It’s so cool.Kids freaked out. You know what I am saying? I tell you this little boy came up to me and he goes “what happened?” and I went up to him, and I goes:” cigarettes!”. and there was one girl who saw me a nd she goes “mummy! Look, it’s an alien!” So I went up to her and I went:” ah~~” she is like ah~~. I ran after her and said:” I am gonna eat you!” You know,Freak her out! So with my little foot here, I can also write. This is my pen here. I can actually write and type with my foot but I learn how to draw and all this sort of things sot hat’s pretty cool. I learn how to type 43 words a minute on the normal computer. So it’s like a heel and toe heel and toe combination and I am learning sign language with my foot I am learning it.Ready? Peace. Is that cool? Very cool. Anyway, we gonna have some fun today. And I just gonna tell you the funny story of all. It’s so funny. I was in a car one day. When you see me from the outside of the car, you have no idea that I have no arms and no legs right? You just see my gorgeous face. when the traffic lights one day, and this car comes up next to us. And this girl looked at me and I am like:” cool! Let’s have some fun here.” I know that she has no clue that I have no limbs so I looked at her, I grabbed the seat belt in my mouth and loose it like this and did it in the car seat, I just did this and she was like, she was like “you are freaking me out, man!” It’s very cool. Anyway, I have a couple of things to show you. I play dr ums. Do you believe me? Students: yeah! I actually play drums; I get the drumstick in my teeth. I am just joking.

I watched both of the two videos. As I have already seen some of his videos, I admire him very much. As he said in the speech I’m different from the world,” I think having no arms and no legs is not the biggest disability at all, in fact, I think the greatest disability of all is your mind, because some of us can have arms and legs, but you self want to give up, their minds is their disability, their choice to give up, that’s the disability.”, it’s the thing, isn’t it? I think this is the most important lesson that we should think deeply. I’m not very confident about myself, but compared with him, I find that I’m so lucky that I can achieve success much more easily. Happiness does not come from temporary things, because if you want happiness and you go to temporary things, your happiness will be temporary. I love this sentence. We should be happy everyday, but the happiness should not come from the temporary things, and as far as think , it should also not from the virtual world such as computer games. What is the most pleasant thing is that you have a dream and you have been working hard to achieve your dream no matter how hard it is and also this is the true meaning of life. Attitude is altitude. I have learned this sentence in my senior high school. And I think the sentence should be changed into altitude depends on attitude. It’s really important for all of us to take a good attitude such as optimism, tolerance and so on because it’s the must thing to succed.
