有过的柔光,以及那深深波影;

回想它们昔日浓重的阴影;

那柔美的光芒与青幽的晕影;

爱你日益凋谢的脸上的衰戚;

发出之柔光,以及深深暗影;

爱你变化的容颜蕴藏的忧伤;

When you are old When you are old and grey and full of sleep. And nodding by the fire, take down this book. And slowly read, and dream of the soft look Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep. How many loved your moments of glad grace. And loved your beauty with love false or true. But one man loved the pilgrim soul in you. And loved the sorrows of your changing face; And bending down beside the glowing bars, Murmur, a little sadly, how Love fled And paced upon the mountains overhead And hid his face amid a crowd of stars.

Dear Linda, I'm very glad that you'll come to China to watch the Olympic Games. I know it isn't easy to learn a foreign language, but I have some ideas that may help. Firstly, it's very important to listen to the teacher carefully in class and make some notes so that you can go over your lessons later. Secondly, try to catch every chance to practice speaking, both in and out of class. Don't be afraid of making mistakes. Then try to listen and read more in Chinese. What's more, you'd better plan your time well and study it regularly every day. Above all, you should be confident in yourself and don't give up whenever you meet with difficulty. I'm sure you will succeed through your hard work. Best wishes and looking forward to meeting you in China. Yours, Li Hua

The appreciation of “When You Are Old” This poem chooses from the poetry "rose" of Yeats, which is written in 1893, it is one of the representative early works of Yeats, addresses to his heart goddess, who is also the most important woman in his life. “Whe n you are old and gray and full of sleep, a nd nodding by the fire”, the poet starts with a pencil like painting a picture which interlaces the shadow with light , no vivid color, atmospheric background and lingering characters’ move, only a quiet life fabric of old age. Although at this time, Yeats was only 29, his lover was only 27 years old, but the "white head", "Sleep giddy" , "snoozing by the fire", a simple image, but let time rapidly move forth to the future of her. At that time, she lost the charming appearance, lost fresh youth; maybe the readers can't help asking: what kind of emotion is the poet for her at that time. “Take down this book, and slowly read, and dream of the soft look; your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep”, very

when you are old 英文诗评

A Brief Introduction of the Poem When You Are Old is one of the most famous poems of the Irish poet William Butler Yeats, and it published in his 1893 collection The Rose. Yeats met Maude Gonne in 1888 and developed a deep affection with her beauty and outspoken manner. But unfortunately, this was an unrequited love and Maud rejected his proposal several times. Although their relationship didn’t reach a happy ending, Maud did have a significant and lasting influence on Yeats’ later life and his poetry. When You Are Old is just one of the poems which Yeats expressed his unchanging love to her. Analysis of the Poem Basically, When You Are Old is written in iambic pentameter. However, in several lines there are some feet doesn’t weaken or stress, and this arrangement gives some changes to the whole poem, makes it more attractive. Especially the tenth line, it is trochee and the first word “murmur”is emphasized, we can know that the poet is trying to describe a wordy old lady and it is indeed vivid. By using not totally same rhythm, the poem has a lonely and chill atmosphere, meanwhile reminds the lady subtly that she should seize the opportunity and not let the true love slip away. As for the rhyme, the poem is masculine rhyme and reads follow the form “abba, cddc, effe”. This rhyme shows delicacy and solemnity, also is easy to read and remember. What is more, the vowel /ou/ often appears in this poem, such as the word old, slowly, soul, sorrows and so on, the pronunciations of these words are longer, so they make the whole poem more moderate and romantic. With the excellent use of rhyme, the poem seems to have been dashed out at a heat.
