近日，联合国教科文组织保护非物质文化遗产政府间委员会在埃塞俄比亚首都亚的斯亚贝巴召开。当地时间11月30日上午，委员会经过评审，正式将中国申报的“二十四节气——中国人通过观察太阳周年运动而形成的时间知识体系及其实践”列入联合国教科文组织人类非物质文化遗产代表作名录。今天正值大雪节气，而昨天，马盛德、罗微、张玲、巴莫曲布嫫、王应德五位参加保护非遗政府间委员会第十一届常会中国政府代表团成员，讲述了此次申报的过程，并对此后的保护工作进行了说明。而说到过程中最令人好奇的英文翻译问题时，巴莫曲布嫫告诉北京晨报记者“这也是我们很头疼的问题！” 过程：熬夜成为关键词 与以往申遗不同，二十四节气的内容显然比单一项目申遗要复杂得多，外联局国际处处长张玲概括起来是两个字——熬夜！ “二十四节气”是我国农耕文明的优秀代表，影响力覆盖全国，涉及多个学科，这在我国申报历史上是比较少见的。“鉴于申报材料有明确的专业和技术要求，既要在规定字数、时长及数量（10张申报图片）范围内，全面体现二十四节气博大精深的文化内涵、价值及存续与保护的相关情况，又要符合《保护非物质文化遗产公约》的理念和表述习惯，

浅谈中国传统美食的英文翻译 王丽君，朱惠娟，陈梅兰 （中国地质大学江城学院外国语学部，湖北武汉 430200） 摘要：中国的饮食文化源远流长，博大精深，探究中国传统美食的英文翻译在跨文化交流中起着重要作用。做好传统美食的英文翻 译有助于树立良好的国家形象。而传统的菜名翻译方法大多着眼于宏观，缺乏对其文化的传承，笔者通过学习、总结菜名的翻译方 法，将其运用于小吃的翻译，归纳出了相应的翻译策略。 关键词：传统美食；英文翻译；文化 中图分类号： H059 文献标识码： A 文章编号： 1009-5039(2012)02-0160-02 在当今政治经济全球化的过程中，饮食文化已成为跨文化交 流的重要内容，而中国饮食文化源远流长，博大精深，探究中国传 统美食的英文翻译具有跨文化性质和传播文化的历史意义。 据报道， 2011年8月，北京风味小吃将打包申遗，申遗工作 和“北京小吃现状”调查项目已经正式启动。北京小吃技艺精 湛，风味独特，文化底蕴深厚，是非物质文化遗产的重要载体和 宝贵的民族自主品牌，但其品牌价值并没有得到充分地挖掘和 利用。日前，“北京风味小吃”申遗项目已通过区级有关部门审 核，传统美食的保护与传承受到政府的重视。 2011年8月18日，美国副总统拜登访问中国，在美国新任 驻华大使的陪同下，品尝老北京传统小吃。有人对此发表评 论，认为拜登此举属“亲民”行为，美国政治家很善于塑造公众 形象，美国使馆很会做公关传播，值得借鉴。事实表明，中国的 传统美食不仅吸引着外国贵宾前来品尝，而且已成为中国特有 的符号与象征，在政治舞台上扮演着重要角色。
然而，目前中国美食文化的发展并不平衡。在武汉，热闹 繁华的小吃街——“户部巷”里韩国料理、日本料理比比皆是。而武汉另一以夜市闻名的美食街——“吉庆街”也已繁华不再。传统小吃正在遭受外来文化的冲击，传统美食文化的传承 也已刻不容缓。因此，挖掘我国传统美食的文化价值有助于传 播中国食文化，而探究中国传统美食的英文翻译更有助于加强 中西方文化交流。 中国是一个饮食大国，中式菜肴、传统小吃品种繁多，烹饪 技法丰富，命名讲究且具文化内涵。随着中国经济的发展，中 国与世界各国在各方面的合作日益频繁。中国的餐饮文化也 在世界范围内得到了广泛传播。由于2008年北京奥运会和 2010上海世界博览会的召开，中国传统美食的英文翻译问题受 到广泛关注，而现行美食的汉英翻译极不规范，这不仅有损坏 中华文化的形象，影响外国友人在中国的饮食消费，还阻碍了 中国饮食文化的发展以及中国与世界的交流。因此，探究中国 传统美食的英文翻译方法是十分必要的。 1 中国传统美食的英译问题 1.1 拼写混乱 1）单词拼写错误； 2）大小写误用；英文菜名应当遵循实义词首字母要大写， 虚词（如介词、连词等）首字母小写的原则。 3）英译名称冗长繁杂且缺乏统一标准 1.2 语法不规范 1）乱用冠词；在菜名的翻译中常出现漏用或错用冠词的情
