高校图书馆学习共享空间设计研究——以武汉市为例

Abstract

With the dramatic development of information technology and updating of knowledge rapidly since1990s,libraries were once considered to be obsolete around the world because the acquiring of knowledge has become unlimited.However,a new organic synthesis integrating space,resources and service——Learning Commons——has become popular in academic library during the past20years.It works as a liquid active network system and made academic library in two decades undergone an unprecedented transformation compared to the last two hundred years.Nowadays,people no longer concerned about whether it will still exist or not,but how it will evolve and flourish in this digital age.

Taking Wuhan as an example,the paper present the current situation of the Academic Library in China.This article points out the shortcomings of current stage of Academic Libraries in China and put forward with relevant design strategies through the comparison between China and the world.The thesis starts fromcontain the following five aspects:

1.Expounds the background study of the paper,and points out the current spatial change and precedent research of the academic library.It puts forward the questions on current situation of the Learning Commons in Chinese academic libraries,explains the research objects and the concept of Learning Commons,forms the purpose and significance of the research,and finally puts forward the structure of the paper.

2.Theoretical research of Learning Commons,combing itshistory and origin. According to the influence of the reform of teaching methods on the academic library, points out the difference between the traditional library space and Learning Commons. Based on the function of Learning Commons,putting forward the framework of Learning Commons space rhythm which provides theoretical supports for the subsequent following case studies.

3.Illustrating and analyzingsis of the outstanding foreign academic caseslibraries based on the framework of Learning Commons space rhythm in order to provide reference for academic libraries in China.

4.Showing six academic libraries in Wuhan and divided them into three categories

by Learning Commons:real,nominal and nameless.Evaluating characteristics of the Learning Commonsed from the aspects of user behavior types,space use,space vitality, and readers and librarians'feedbacks.Then evaluating the samples by using the framework of Learning Commons space rhythm.

5.Put forward the design strategy and guidelines,including index of each part of Learning Commons in academic library,the spatial pattern of each quadrant in the framework of Learning Commons space rhythm,and some parts of the design toolbox.
