如果有人把“风水宝地”宝坻比作一位婀娜多姿的古代少女，那么我会自豪地告诉你，我的家乡——牛道口就是美丽少女的发髻上那根璀璨夺目的珠钗，她随着宝坻经济的飞快发展、日益繁荣，而越发显得熠熠生辉、光彩照人。我的家乡坐落在宝坻区的西北边陲，她养育了成千上万勤劳智慧的朴实农民。
家乡拥有上千亩基本农田，农民们在这块肥沃的土壤上春播秋种，收获硕果累累的粮食。再也没有了“耕牛遍地走”，有的只是隆隆的农机悠闲地穿梭在金色的田野里。站在高坡上，放眼望去，一条宽阔的大河由东向西奔腾而去，清澈的河水好像飘逸的白色丝带，给郁郁苍苍的大片树林绾出清幽淡雅的发型。家乡的水美，人更美，在这方热土上涌现出了多少英雄儿女。在赵各庄战役中牺牲的上百名革命先烈，为祖国东北防护林事业奉献终生的马永顺，他们是家乡的骄傲，是后辈的榜样。家乡的人民会继承他们的遗志，把家乡建设地更加美好。随着宝坻撤县设区，合乡并镇后改革步伐的加快，家乡在各项建设中也取得了骄人的成绩。以牛道口为中心的三辣生产基地，绿色生态园区，天宝经济开发区正在蓬勃发展中。开发区中众多企业的投资生产，为现代化农业生产中解放出来的大批农村劳动力提供了就业的机会；生态园的开放，带动了相关旅游事业的发展，农家院、垂钓园、采摘园的生意日益红火。
现在，家乡的人们不必出门千里，就可以享受到世外桃源般的美景。远离日出而作、日落而息的寂寥生活，农村人的文化生活逐渐精彩起来。文化大院、开心双休日等电视节目走进田家地头，为人民送来文化大餐、精神食粮，提高人民的生活品味。健身小区中众多的体育器材的设置，满足了人民休闲锻炼的需要。
走在家乡的大道上，两旁的商店林立，商品琳琅满目，人们不必为购买日常生活用品而忧愁。劝宝超市加盟店、美容美发店、学习用品店，就连汽车连锁店也开进了乡镇，这些绝不是多年前的人们可以想到的。在新农村、生态村的创建中，宝坻的周良、大白等乡镇走在了队伍的前列，我的家乡也不甘人后，努力争先创优。改造街道环境，摆放垃圾池，冲水家厕等一系列举措实实在在地提高了人民的生活质量。在全区创建现代化中小学校的改革中，家乡分别以赵各庄中学、牛道口中学为中心区，投入大量经费建设现代化教育园区，改善教学环境，提高教育质量。宽敞明亮的教室里传出孩子们的朗朗读书声，教师借用现代化的教学手段传授着知识。
