口语应用试题是近年来中考测试中以书面形式考查学生是否具有初步运用英语进行口语交际能力的题型。它是九年义务教育新教材使用后中考出现的新题型。九年义务教育全日制初级中学英语教学大纲和教材把培养学生“为交际初步运用英语”的能力作为初中四项教学内容之一,要求学生掌握和运用所学《日常交际用语简表》中规定的30个日常交际项目的表达用语进行简单的交谈。修订后的大纲还具体列出十六个话题项目。由于在大规模的统一考试中进行口语测试,具体实施上还要解决许多问题,所以通过设计一定的语境,在书面考试中突出交际功能的考查就成为必然。现在各省、市中考试题已将口语交际能力的考查放在重要位置上。根据教育部对中考改革的意见,可以预计今后中考中测试考生英语交际能力的比重将越来越大。江苏省和昆明市等也已率先在中考中加试口语。所以在英语学习和中考复习中突出交际能力的培养是非常重要的。考生要熟悉日常交际用语中的各种交际功能,特别要熟练掌握表示问候、道别、感谢、道歉、邀请、请求允许、询问、征求意见等常用的口语句型和习惯表达法,必须掌握借书、打电话、购物、问路、看病、就餐、谈论天气等情景中连贯对话的表达形式,并在日常俩俩对话中经常练习、反复实践。进行对话操练时要注意中西

方文化背景差异的影响,避免母语的干扰,要学会用英语习惯表达方式去思考,减少汉语思维定势造成不符合英语习惯表达的失误。考生还要注意不同场合、语境中口语表达的异同,要对同一功能的口语表达做出系统的归纳,这样才能使对话表达正确得体。

一、题型分类与特点

口语应用试题根据对话的基本形式是一问一答的特点,通过提供一定的语境,将语言放在交际的实际情景中去考查。它所涉及的内容多是初中英语课本中出现过的与学生学习生活相联系、实用性强的内容。它既考查特定交际场合使用的表达方式,也通过语境考查词汇和语法知识的运用。中考中口语应用的基本题型分四类:补全对话选择题、补全对话填空题、补全对话配对题和对话顺序排列题,其中难度最大的是补全对话填空题。

(一)补全对话选择题:该题型的特点是在情景应答和对话中,抽出其中某些问句或答句,然后提供若干个备选项,要求考生根据情景,选择备选项中正确的形式来补全对话,它主要考查特定情景中某些口语的固定表达形式。这类试题有的是把一段对话中抽出的若干个句子打乱顺序后放在一个方框内提供给考生,要求考生根据上下文内容,将这些句子重新返回原位,使对话完整。这类试题难度虽不大,但必须认真仔细方能保证正确无误。有的试题为干扰考生,在抽

出的句子基础上再掺入若干个语法正确、语言通顺且内容也与对话有关的干扰句子用以迷惑考生,意在测试考生的鉴别能力。有的试题给对话的每个空格提供四个备选项,形式上类同于完形填空,但它提供的是完整的句子

,考生必须从中选出符合特定语境和情景的正确答案。

(二)补全对话填空题:该题型的特点是给出一段不完整的情景对话,要求考生根据对话的主题及上、下文问答的逻辑关系,填上对话中所空缺的单词或句子,使对话前后意思连贯、语法正确、符合英语习惯表达法。这类试题不重点考查语法概念,也不重点考查词义的差别,重在测试语言意义。考查考生整体理解对话、全面接受信息的能力,并在此基础上填入符合情节内容的词语,做到既要达义又要形式正确。

(三)补全对话配对题:该题型的特点是将对话的问与答分列两行,打乱顺序后,要求考生从右栏中找出左栏各个句子的正确答语,主要考查各类功能项目的基本表达形式。它属于难度较低的题型。这类试题分为对等配对题(左栏与右栏的句数相等)和不对等配对题(右栏的句数多于左栏)两种,对等配对题相对更容易些。

(四)对话顺序排列题:该题型的特点是把一组对话的几个句子前后顺序打乱,然后给出这些无序的句子,要求考生将这些句子按逻辑先后排列,重新组成原来的一组对话。

这类试题考生一般无须自已给对话排列出正确顺序,只要根据试题提供的四个已排列好顺序的选项,从中确定一个正确的答案。

二、解题思路与技巧

例1、从下边方框中选择恰当的句子完成对话,每个句子只能用一次。

解题时先通览全文,了解该对话是涉及“借东西”的交际情景,然后根据语境,细读方框内选项,选择恰当的句子完成对话。确定选用的句子时要通盘考虑,先易后难,根据意义和句法试填。第1空:联系下句的“Yes”是回答一般疑问句的,故选取B无疑。第2空:要依上下文意思而定,上文是问句“What

again?”所给选项中能做答语的只有C,它符合上、下文意义上联系。第3空较难,一时难以确定,可先往下看,留待最后决定。第4空:根据下一句“About four o’clock”很容易确定选E。第5空的选项剩下A和D,用A意思明显不通,只有选D才会文通意顺。这样最后剩下的A应是原先第3空的答案了。选定答案之后,将完整的对话再通读一遍,结合上下文的内容,验证所填句子是否确切。

补全对话选择题的一般解题思路是:

1、通览全文、领会大意、揣摩话题。解题时应先跳过空格通览全文,了解对话大意,根据对大意的把握,判定语境,揣摩话题。

2、根据语境、细读选项、选择答案。在把握话题和语境的基础上,针对对话的每一空白处,细读所提供的选项,认真分析它们之间的异同,依据对话有关情景内容,选择正确的答案。

3、通盘考虑、前后联想、先易后难。要从对话整体理解出发,依照上、下问答的逻辑顺序来考虑所选择的答案,不可不顾前后顺序,孤立地就上句就补下句,这样可能出现所补句子符合上文而不符合下文的情况。要先解决有把握的、容易的,再回头补选较难的。

4、通读对话、义形结合、验证答案。将对话补全之后,再将整段对话通读一遍,逐一验证答案。所选的答案不仅语义上要符合语境,而且要保证语言正确,做到说话得体。

做补全对话选择题时要注意如下几点:

1、所补全的对话内容必须能使上、下文连贯一致,因而必须瞻前顾后、全盘考虑,不能仅看上一个问句就选择答句,或仅根据下文中的答句就补全它的问句,否则容易造成逻辑错误。

2、做题前应注意试题前面有否中文或英语的背景提示。这些背景提示是确是话题内容的重要依据,不可疏忽带过。

3、在选择过程中考生应注意把已选出的选项划去,避免重复选择的错误。

4、做题时要先易后难,一时难以确定不要勉强先做,否则易造成连锁错误。
