I. Read the listening materials and time it.

Now class, I’d like to tell you about your final examination next week. As you know, the test will cover everything we have learned this year from the start of the term all the way until your last unit. That might sound like a lot of material to study, so I have some tips that I will share with you.

First, plan ahead. Don’t wait till the night before the test to start reviewing. That will not work and you will be very upset with your results. We have a total of eight units. I suggest studying one unit every night for the next week. We have ten days until the exam so you will have plenty of time if you choose to do it this way.

Second, focus on studying only the most important topics we’ve discussed. Studying is mostly about using your time well. You cannot possibly remember everything so just review the main points.

The two days before the exam will be review sessions where we review together in class. Please prepare any questions you have for those days. Otherwise, I will be available during lunch and after school for one hour every day until the exam. Good luck and keep a positive attitude. Success is what you make of it.

V. Nothing can be accomplished without norms or standard. Try to follow the following rules.

3. Don’t go to toilet in class unless you are ill.

4. Don’t forget or delay your homework.

5. Don’t do any practice in or after class without paying attention to your handwriting.

6. Don’t hand in any practice in or after class in pieces unless they appear in pieces.

7. Don’t cheat in any way.

VI. Make some preparations before my class.

1. Prepare three exercise books. One for dictation, one for compositions, and a third one for practice

in and after class. 2. Prepare three notebooks. One for notes in c lass, one for accumulation of words, sentences and paragraphs from extensive materials, and a third one for taking down your mistakes or problems.

3. If possible, buy a dictionary for looking up the new words and buy a MP3 or MP4 for listening practice. VII. Suggestions for the new term.

1. Try to be active and speak English in class.

2. Try to read English aloud in morning classes.

3. Try to listen more, speak more, read more and write more.

4. Try to ask more, cooperate more, remember more, review more and accumulate more.

5. Believe in yourself and keep trying until succeed. Don’t give up.

6. Try to follow my rules, requirements and suggestions because good habits benefit all one’s life.
