Despite its name, the hard-boiled egg should not be boiled. It should be steamed. It is good for several reasons. Since the eggs are placed in a steamer basket rather than a deep pot of boiling water, they're less likely to break. The steam will evenly cook the eggs and won't ruffle(使起伏不平)them around like the big bubbles(气泡) of boiling water.

The whole way is very simple. The best part? Steaming the egg takes the same amount of time as boiling, so there's no reason not to give it a try. Follow the steps below and do enjoy your food.

Step 1: Place 1 inch of water into your pot.

Step 2: Place a steamer into the pot.

Step 3: Cover the pot and bring the water to the boil.

Step 4:Add eggs into the steamer basket, cover and cook for 6 minutes

(soft-boiled) and 11 minutes (hard-boiled).

Step 5: Remove and place the eggs directly into a bowl of ice-cold water.

Step 6: Peel(剥皮) and enjoy!

The trick: Steam them instead of boiling them!

Why it works: Adding the eggs into the steamer basket when the water is hot and steaming ensure they cook evenly. Putting them directly into a bath of ice-cold water makes them peel easily.

A past trip to Malaysia to visit relatives was a very rewarding and fun experience. I was able to meet my extended family, taste the local foods and bask(晒太阳) in the warm sunshine on the beaches. However, when I returned from Malaysia, I found myself wondering if I had made the most of my travel. Because international traveling may not be a common activity for you—it certainly isn't for me —I've since become convinced that having a particular focus or goal in your trip is beneficial.

Since my visit to Malaysia, I've become more interested in learning Chinese, as it is one of the commonly spoken languages in Malaysia and in other parts of Asia. In fact, it has become a goal of mine to explore the cultural and linguistic aspects of the Chinese language. When I start college this fall, I will be taking my first Chinese class. However, a language and cultural immersion(投入) is probably the best way to learn and master the language. For my next international travel, I hope to not only taste the local foods and visit the cultural institutions of the country, but also focus on my goal of learning Chinese. This focus of learning a new language helps me narrow down the possibilities of countries to visit for my next travel.

While my personal focus may be to learn a new language when I travel, other people of course will have different ideas for travel. Traveling abroad can entertain many of those goals because there is so much you can learn by visiting a foreign country or an unfamiliar place. For example, you could volunteer in a hospital clinic in a rural community, or learn how to snorkel(潜水) in a tropical island. Whether for personal growth or leisure pursuits, the possibilities for traveling are truly expansive.

Enjoy your next travel, whether it is this summer or several years down the line. Try the local

cuisine, tour the museums, parks and cultural institutions, and remember to send postcards to your friends and family!

An advertisement is displayed on a school bus for a district in Thornton, Colorado. In 11 states across the country, school buses are now doing more than just transporting students. They're also serving as rolling billboards. These school buses carry advertisements on the outside. Restaurants, insurance companies, banks and other businesses pay for the ads, hoping to attract more customers. And it's a way for the schools to make money as they face deep budget cuts.

“We've seen a lot of income generated by the ads,”Devra Ashby told Time for Kids (TFK). She is the spokesperson for School District 11 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She is also the mother of a third grader. “With the budget cuts we've experienced, we look at any way that can bring money into the schools.”Last year, District 11 made more than $15,000 from school bus ads.

School districts need to ensure that the ads are appropriate for kids, according to Michael Beauchamp, chief executive officer of Alpha Media. This company works with businesses in several states to create ads for school buses. “The districts won't allow ads for things like beer, cigarettes or politics,”Beauchamp told TFK.

But not everyone is in favor of school buses having ads on the outside. That includes Georgia's Department of Education. Spokeswoman Dorie Nolt told TFK, “We strongly believe that advertising on the outside of school buses distracts drivers and children.”

Parents are divided on the issue. “I don't think the ads are a distraction,”said Glenn Herdling of River Vale, New Jersey. His son is in second grade. “And if they can bring in money for the schools and help save some programs, that's fantastic.”

Cindy Tomarchio of East Windsor, New Jersey, feels differently. “I know the schools can use the money, but kids already see enough advertising,”she said.

30. According to Dorie Nolt, ads on the school buses

A. can benefit kids a lot

B. lead to traffic problems

C. have bad effect on parents

D. prevent people from seeing clearly

31. Who would probably agree with advertising on the school buses?

A. Devra Ashby and Glenn Herdling.

B. Dorie Nolt and Glenn Herdling.

C. Devra Ashby and Cindy Tomarchio.

D. Dorie Nolt and Cindy Tomarchio.

Forgiveness is about releasing(释放) your anger, fear and pain and opening your heart to joy,

peace and love. It means that you will no longer allow the past to have a hold on your life, that you are willing to release the hurt and the pain, that you no longer wish to be tied to the past in a negative way, and that you are freeing yourself from the ties that hold you back from living an easy life.

I can say from my own experience that building my own forgiveness skills has been very liberating. I feel very much at peace with my family and friends. Forgiveness should be part of our personality, and should be made a way of life. Here are some tips to develop your forgiveness skills:

●Find time every day to think. Do deep breathing and scan your mind for any anger you are keeping locked in. Breathe in slowly. Imagine it slowly melting away and leaving you feeling light and free.

●Forgiveness does not mean reconciliation(和解). It's not about excusing the other person or condoning(宽恕) the behaviors. Just let go of your own suffering.

●Write a forgiveness letter. If somebody hurts you in the past, writing a forgiveness letter to that person will help. If you do not want to mail it, then throw it or burn it and imagine your feelings of anger disappearing too.

●Rise above it. There might be people who are rude at times. Do not let their negative ideas rub off on you. Move to a higher level of being. Keep your mind and the energy around you free and uncontaminated(未沾染的).

And most importantly of all, remember to forgive yourself, for not being perfect, for not getting over things quickly enough, for... whatever. You deserve the same understanding as everyone else.

32. What can we learn from the first paragraph?

A. Forgiving others is hard.

B. Forgiving makes you comfortable.

C. Forgiving brings you hurt and pain.

D. Forgiving others is actually very easy.

33. The author gets on well with his friends probably because he

A. is an outgoing person

B. has rich life experience

C. would like to help others

D. is ready to forgive others

34. Which of the following may help us forgive others?

A. Trying to make others satisfied.

B. Keeping our anger in our mind.

C. Releasing our anger by writing a letter.

D. Always being kind to the impolite people.

35. According to the text, the author

A. wants to be supported by others

B. likes making friends with others

C. never feels angry or painful in life

D. advises us to learn to forgive others
