关于exam, test和quiz的区别
exam, test和quiz的辨析
很多同学经常分不清exam, test和quiz这三项测试的含义。很多同学经常将exam和test当作同一种测试，以为他们是同义词，其实不是这样。现将这三种测试的区别简要分析一下。
先说exam吧，我们可以将其称为“考试”，牛津高阶的解释是这样的“a formal written, spoken or practical test, especially at school or college, to see how much you know about a subject, or what you can do”。既然是测试对一门subject（课程）的掌握程度，那当然是在该课程学完之后了进行了，所以加方课exam的时间一般是每年的1月或6月。一门课程结束时，所有学习该课程的同学都统一参加exam，一般在东报告厅或西报告厅举行。（exam的时间在student planner上有，在第4页，同学们可以查的到）
再说test，我们可以将其“测验”，牛津高阶是这样解释的“an examination of sb’s knowledge or ability, consisting of questions for them to answer or activities for them to perform”。每一章结束时都会有test。Test是随堂进行的，考试题目和时间都由各老师根据自己班上的实际情况自行安排。期中考试也用test。
最后看一下quiz，我们可以称其为“小测验”。看看牛津高阶的解释“(especially NAmE) an informal test given to students”。Quiz也是随堂进行的，这种小测验的灵活性比较大，可能测一个概念，一个定理，几个单词等等，quiz的题量比较小，一个题，两个题的很常见。quiz 所用的时间也比较短，可能几分钟，十分钟或二十分钟就完成了。
与中国学校考试成绩的“一考定音”不同，加拿大学校的学生成绩是由很多部分组成的，比如平时作业，课堂活动，小测验，测验，考试等。我们接下来看一看exam, test和quiz在学生最后总成绩中所占的比重。Quiz的比重小，test的比重比quiz大一些，exam所占的比重最大。我一起上课的老师中，据我的了解，exam一般都占到总成绩的50%-70%。在这里小小的插一句，我们国际高中的中方课现在也是由平时成绩和期末考试成绩组成的，这样可以注重学生平时的表现。
