我为什么要选择武汉大学
今年三月，在这樱花烂漫的季节里，我穿过熙熙攘攘的人群，一步步走进凝聚了深厚文化积淀的珞珈山，心情激荡起伏，久久难以平静。我暗问自己，如果这里不是你向往已久的殿堂，那么她又会在哪里呢？
于是，我决定选择武大。
有太多太多的理由，太多太多的向往。但是，这些我都不想说，我想说的是武大最让我倾倒的东西——她的精神、她的风骨！
1893年，湖广总督张之洞奏请清政府创办自强学堂，从此，?君子以自强不息?的呐喊之声就一直伴随着武大人走过了整整一个多世纪——周恩来、董必武、陈潭秋、罗荣桓曾在这里指点江山；辜鸿铭、竺可桢、李四光、闻一多、郁达夫、叶圣陶、李达等曾在这里激扬文字。一百多年来，武汉大学上演了中华民族近现代史上众多的精彩华章，形成了优良的革命传统，积淀了厚重的人文底蕴。如今的武汉大学仍然以?自强、弘毅、求是、拓新?为宗旨，在新的历史时期创造着更加灿烂的篇章。
我们中国目前的大学教育主要定位在知识教育、技能培养上，但是，实际上大学教育尤其是大学文科教育不仅仅是技能的教育，同时还应是价值观的教育。武汉大学在这一点上具有先天的优势，因为文史哲等人文学科历来都是武大的标志性专业。如今的武大，在改革创新的活水浇灌之下，人文精神之花正在徐徐绽放。据了解，武大的教学不仅注重提高学生的综合能力，而且强调对学生开展关于爱的教育、善的教育、美的教育，鼓励学生体验生活、体验创造，教育学生学会怜悯和感恩，追求自由和幸福。
我决定选择武大，还因为她的宽容氛围和自由意识。百年的历史沉淀了百年的传统，武大人心中坚守的永远是学术自由、思
想自由的办学理念。曾任武大教务长的美学家朱光潜把教育的本质归结为?宽大自由?，他说过：?‘宽大自由教育’必以‘博学’为基，以‘守义’为的。?上个世纪80年代，?自由的武大?与?民主的北大?并列于世，?北有北大，南有武大?，两校彼此呼应。
时至今日，武大崇尚自由精神的优良传统仍得以保留并发扬光大。校园里自由的学术氛围，使得武大学子学无陈规，学无定法，学无止境。
希望有那么一天，我能够站在武大校园中，骄傲地告诉全世界：这就是我的武大！
