英文小故事 口语课演讲用

1.Good morning, everyone. Today I’ll give a presentation for you, and my topic is a lesson from butterfly.

2.One day, a small opening appeared on a cocoon; a man sat and watched for the butterfly for several hours as it struggled to force its body through that little hole.

3.Then, it seems to stop making any progress.
It appears as if it had gotten as far as it could and it could not go.
So the man decided to help the butterfly: he took a pair of scissors ['siz?] and opened the cocoon.

4. The butterfly then emerged easily.

5. But it had a weak body, it was tiny and shrivelled皱缩 wings.
The man continued to watch because he expected that, the wings would open, enlarge and expand, to be able to support the butterfly's body, and become firm.

6. Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawing around with a weak body and shrivelled wings. It never was able to fly.

What the man did not understand was that the cocoon and the struggle required for the butterfly to get through the tiny opening, were God’s way of forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings.
So that it would be ready for flight once it achieved its freedom from the cocoon.

7.Sometimes, struggles are exactly what we need in our life.
Live life without fear, confront all obstacles and evince[i'vins]表明 that you can overcome them.
8.Never lose your heart.
9.Don’t be surprised by so many barriers on your way.
10.And Keep smiling!
11.One day, all of us will be shining stars in our fields.
Thanks for your listening.
