高等学校英语应用能力考试口语考试

一、考试简介

1.1 考试对象和报考条件

高等学校英语应用能力考试口语考试的报考条件是在校本、专科学生。

1.2 考试形式

高等学校英语应用能力考试口语考试将在语言实验室进行,每场考试都有20~30名考生同时参加。考试不设主考,试题(包括其指示说明)全部录在事先准备好的考试录音带上,考生回答问题也是直接口头回答并通过麦克风录制在考生录音带上。此外,考生在落座之后还会拿到一本包括Part I 以及Part IV题目的试题本。整个考试全部过程约为16分钟,实际考试时间为14分钟,考生答题录到录音带上的答案录音累计时间约为9分钟左右。

在正式考试开始之前,考生有2分钟的“热身”练习。内容包括核实考生身份(由考生通过麦克风把自己的准考证号录入考生录音带),并让考生回答5个诸如天气、家庭、学习、个人兴趣等方面的问题。该练习采取由主控台播放题目录音、考生根据问题回答的形式,目的是让考生熟悉并适应考场环境及考试方式,消除考生的紧张感,进入良好的应考状态。这一部分并不进入成绩计分,考生回答的内容对其考试成绩不会造成任何影响。

在回答完5个问题之后,录音会提示考生考试正式开始。考试由4个部分组成,每个部分之间都有提示音(“嘟”的一声)提醒考生即将进入下一个部分的考试。

第一部分是朗读短文(reading aloud),主要考察考生的语音语调、朗读的准确性、流利度以及一些基本的朗读技巧。这一部分的信息来源包括信件、传真、备忘录、总结、布告、报告等。考生有1分钟的准备时间。在听到回答提示音后,考生开始朗读短文,时间约为1分半钟(约150字,参照标准为大学四级听力标准——每分钟140~160字。所有听力材料的语速皆参照这个标准)。

第二部分是听对话回答问题(retelling & summarizing),主要考察考生在实际工作、生活场景中对信息的摄取以及语言综合能力。在这一部分的指示说明结束之后,考生将听到一小段对话(时间约为1分钟),内容涉及日常交际、一般涉外活动及一般涉外业务。之后考生需在录音提示下对其所听到的对话内容进行总结。在提示问题结束后,考生有30秒时间进行准备。在听到答题提示音后,考生开始回答,时间约为1分钟(约60字,参照标准为英语专业四级《基本大纲》标准——语速为每分钟不低于60个字。下同)。

第三部分是口头汉译英(Chinese-English interpretation),主要考察考生在汉、英两种语言之间进行转换的能力和用英语进行连贯的口头表达的能力,以及考生在不同语境下采用恰当的语体传达信息的口头交际能力。在这一部分的指示说明结束之后,考生将听到4段简短的介绍或对话,内容包括日常交流、一般涉外活动及一般涉外业务。在每道题目的指示说明结束之后和下一道题目的指示说明开始之前,录音带会发出提示音提醒考生开始回答问题以及停止回答。每道题目之间的时间间隔约为40秒(约40字)。

第四部分是看画面进行描述(picture-cued presentation),主要考察考生用英语进行连贯、有条理的口头表达的能力,以及描述信息并进行适当综合等口头交际能力。在这一部分的指示说明结束之后,考生将看到一幅或一些图片或照片,内容包括广告、产品/公司介绍、信息发布、业务交流等。考生有1分钟时间进行准备。在听到回答提示音后,考生需对图片或照片的内容进行描述并作适当的综合评论。时间约为2分钟(约120字)。

高等学校英语应用能力考试口语考试要求考生参与不同场景下、不同形式的口头交际,其语言能力将根据其在考试中的表现进行测定。考生需要掌握的语言交际功能包括:

I.日常交际

A.课堂交流

B.日常交际:介绍、问候、感谢、致歉、道别、指路;天气、学习、爱好、饮食、健康等。

II.业务交际

A.一般涉外活动:包括迎送,安排日程与活动,安排住宿,宴请与迎送会,陪同购物、游览、就

诊等。

B.一般涉外业务

1面试;

2介绍公司/工厂:历史、现状;

3介绍产品:类型、性能、规格、市场等;

4业务洽谈:合作意向、投资意向、签订合同、人员培训、专家待遇、议价、折扣、佣金、订购、付款方式、交货日期、保险等;

5主持业务交流会议。

1.3.2输入信息

高等学校英语应用能力考试口语考试主要运用以下三种形式的输入信息来产生信息差:

I.文字提示;

II.声音提示;

III.画面提示(如图片或照片等)。

1.4 评分标准及评分描述

高等学校英语应用能力考试口语考试的评分围绕内容、语法词汇、语音语调、准确性和流利度等几个方面(根据每道题目的不同特点略有调整)采取总体给分的办法,由两位评分员独立对考生每个部分的表现进行评分,该生成绩取二者给分的均值。若两位评分员对每个题目的给分相差超过1分(包括1分)的话,将由第3位评分员再来评分,该生的成绩取三位评分员给分的均值。评分员在评分时使用的各部分评分标准如下:

1.5 口语考试成绩与证书

高等学校英语应用能力考试口语考试评分分为优秀、合格以及不合格三个等级。

高等学校英语应用能力考试口语考试成绩合格者由考试委员会发给统一的证书。证书分为两个等级:优秀和合格。考试成绩不合格者不发给证书。

韶关学院外语学院是目前韶关市唯一举办“高等学校英语应用能力考试(口试)”的考点。2007年6月2日,在广东松山职业技术学院、韶关学院医学院和韶州师范分院,及韶关学院各院系的大力合作下,我们成功地举办了首期“高等学校英语应用能力考试(口试),通过率为74.15%, 优秀率为8.05%; 之后本考点又顺利举办了各期考试,通过率及优秀率逐渐上升。(证书复印件附后)。
