I watched the whole magnificence of the dawn for the last time, as if it were the first. And then I said farewell to sunlight and set out to become what I became.

He hands the glass to Louis. Louis drinks the blood and stares at it in surprise, then at the dead rat on the fin e lace tablecloth.

女人：你怎么在这儿哭，孩子？你走丢了吗，我的宝贝？

CLAUDIA: Mama...

克劳迪娅：妈妈……

WOMAN: Hush now, don't cry. We'll find her...

LESTAT: Wonderful! Wonderful! Now play something on a more somber note.

LOUIS (V.O.): Time can pass quickly for mortals when they're happy. With us it was the same. The years fly by like minutes. The city around us grew. Sailboats gave way to steamships disgorging an endless menu of magnificent strangers. A new world has grown around us. And we were all Americans now.

路易（旁白）：对于人们来说，快乐的时光总是过得很快。对我们也一样。时光飞逝，城市日渐兴旺，小帆船被蒸汽船替代，大批的陌生人随之到来。一个新的世界在我们身边展开。我们现在都成了美国人。

LESTAT: These filth modern tide! What I wouldn’t give for a drop of old-fashioned Creole blood!

LOUIS: Y ankees are not your taste.

LESTAT: Their democracy is not suiting my palate. Now that is pure Creole. Trust Claudia to have found he r. What’s it? Don’t you want her?
