STUDY ON URBAN DESIGN UNDER THE CHOICE OF LOCATION SPACE WU Qiang

ＡＢＳＴＲＡＣＴ：　By referring to the theory of economic location, this paper presents that urban design should be a spatio-temporal expression of culture and arts under the choice of location space based on the study on the urban problems. The author argues that start-ing with examination on main body of location de-signers must grasp the correlation and hierarchy of the combination of main body of location and loca-tion space design in order to determine the function,property, cultural quality of main body of location and the integration of spatial form. It suggests that “examination on location space” with both ideologi-cal and methodological meanings can be extend to broader design field and can also serve as an objective standard in design evaluation.
