1. Direction n.

【词性转换】director n. 导演direct v. 指导

【记忆】in all directions 四面八方;各方面; in the direction of 朝……方向

例句:In which direction are you going, north or south? 你准备往哪个方向走,向北还是向南?

批注:让学生回想看电影的时候,在电影开头会播放人员表,导演的英语是什么呀?下次要记得在生中累计英语单词哦~

2. Warning adj. 警告、警示;

【词性转换】warn [w?:n] v. 警告、警示

例句:Because of her warning. I was careful. 由于她的提醒,我很小心。

Let it be a warning to you. 以它为鉴吧。

【知识拓展】warn sb not to do sth

批注:比较warn sb. not to do / decide sb. not to do.

3. Instruction adj. 说明用法的、操作指南的;

【记忆】ask for instruction 请示,give instructions to do something 指挥∕命令(做某事)

例句:Read the instructions on the bag. 看一下袋子上的说明。

4. silence n. 寂静、无声;

【词性转换】silent ['sail?nt] adj. 寂静的、沉默的;

5. useful adj. 有用、实用的、有帮助的;

【反义词】useless ['ju:slis] adj. 无用的、无效的、无价值的

例句:She gave us some useful information. 她给了我们一些有用的信息。

批注:引入词汇联想记忆法,让学生回忆使用(use)怎么说,加上词缀ful猜猜意思,一般都能说出,再总结其他带有ful的形容词,(beauty +ful=beautiful color+ful=colorful)然后让学生猜猜use+less什么意思,总结出带有less的形容词,都表否定。(care+less=careless home+less=homeless)

6. take turns 依次;轮流

例句:Let’s take turns to do it.让我们轮流来做吧。

The children were taking turns on the slides in the play ground. 孩子们在操场上轮流滑滑梯。【知识拓展】turn作名词的用法:转弯例如:You should make a left turn at Daxing Street.

轮次It’s your turn to clean the room.

固定搭配:take turns to do sth. 轮流做某事

turn也可以作动词,可搭配成许多词组。

例如:turn on(打开),turn off(关掉),

turn up(调高音量),turn down(调低音量),

【反义词】take off 起飞

8. miss v. 错过;

【联想】miss v. 想念、思念

例句:He missed the chance of winning a gold medal because of his illness.

批注:格莱美颁奖时,明星一般都会说,I miss my mother………..给学生介绍著名的格莱美获奖明星和曲目,增加趣味性。

9. luck n. 运气;

【词性转换】lucky ['l?ki] adj. 幸运的luckily ['l?kili] adv. 幸运地;

unlucky [?n'l?ki] adj. 不幸的unluckily [?n'l?kili] adv. 不幸地

例句:Good luck to you! 祝你成功!

10. Player n. 选手

【词性转换】v. play 玩,打球。

例句:Let’s play football after school, shall we?

The player made a good performance in the game.

批注:让学生总结play的用法,让他翻译踢足球,弹钢琴等,总结出球类运动前不加the,乐器前加the,需要特别注意的是下棋play chess 打牌:play cards

11. Mean v,意味着

【词性转换】1)meaning n. 意思What’s the meaning of the word?

2) meaningful adj. 有意义的a meaningful class

反义词:meaningless adj. 无意义的

批注:同单词5 useful,less词缀结尾表示没有,为后面总结词缀做铺垫

?好玩的词缀!

让学生自己回忆一下学过的含有这些词缀的词汇。

词组小结:

二、重要句型Important Sentences structures

1. This sign tells us how and where to go. 这个标志告诉我们如何到某个地方去。

This sign tells us how to do something. 这个标志告诉我们如何去做一件事情。

The sign means "no smoking"

What does this sign mean?

批注:疑问词+to do作宾语when to leave, why to go there等

可改写成This sign tells us how and where we can go.

This sign tells us how we can do something.

2. This sign tells things we may want to know. 这个标志我们可能想要知道的东西。

批注:上述句子的划线部分都是定语从句,分别修饰各自之前的先行词things,相当于一个定语成分。

3. if you land on a sign, you must say what it means. 你每落在一个标志上,就必须说出该标志的含义。

批注:land on意为“降落在;着陆于”,可用于表示飞机降落。

例句:That aircraft can take off and land on either land or water. 那架飞机在地面和水面均能起飞降落。

4. The first person to get to the FINISH sign wins the game. 第一个到达“终点”标志的选手获胜。

批注:to get to the FINISH sign是the first person的后置定语,用于修饰the first person,补充说明是怎样的“第一人”。同句2

5. what kind of sign is this?

批注:句型“what kind of+名词”表示询问事物的种类、其中的名词可以是可数名词,也可以是不可数名词。

例句:What kind of people would you like to make friends with? 你想和什么样的人叫朋友?

What kind of food would you like to have for dinner? 晚饭你想吃什么?

6. Good luck! 祝你好运!

详解:也可以说Good luck to/with you!

批注:表祝愿

7. We can park our car here. 我们可以把车停在这里。

We must stop our car here. 我们必须把车停在这里。

We must not fish here. 我们不可以在此钓鱼。

批注:本例中park作动词用,表示停车

本例中的fish是动词,意为“钓鱼”。作动词用

又如:Shall we go fishing this weekend? 这个周末我们去钓鱼好吗?

详解:上述3句句子的意思是有些差别的。首先,第一个句子没有强制的语气,表示可做可不做;

第2/3个句子有强制的语气,表示必须/不允许这么做。

注意:mustn't 表示禁止。

三、语法Grammar

情态动词

详解:情态动词有一定的词义,没有人称和数的变化。

本单元中出现了两个情态动词:can和must。

1.Can

Can表示能力

例如:We can swim across the river. 我们能游过这条河。

I can ride a bicycle. 我会骑自行车。

表示许可 You can (= may) go out now. 你现在可以出去了。

You can (= may) have a rest for five minutes. 你们可以休息五分钟。

用于条件句中 If you work hard, you can pass the exam. 如果你努力学习,你就能通过考试。

If you need a camera, you can use mine. 如果你需要照相机,可以用我的。

表否定猜测:He has gone to London, so he can’t be in Shanghai now.

他去了伦敦,因此他现在不可能在上海。

Her bag is black. This brown one can’t be hers.

她的包是黑色的。这个褐色的包不可能是她的。

2.Must

表示必要或很重要

We must walk on the pavement.

We must obey the rules.

否定式:mustn’t

1) “不应该”,“不许”:

We must not throw the rubbish everywhere.

2) 表示猜测:

The light is on in her office. She must be in the office.

They have been learning English for 7 years, so they are of dif ferent levels. Quite a few students are quite excellent. They do well in both s peaking and writing. They are very active in class. But some students are at a lower English level. However, sometimes they can speak a little in class. What they need is a language environment. Therefore, group work in class is helpful for them to take an active part in the class. 3重点难点 This is ‘more practice’ part of Module One. The topic is A One-day Tour Plan. We have talked about some famous places in the previous period, so the students have learned some expressions.
