【摘要】科学领域进行国际合作的一个重要形式是召开国际学
术研讨会。一篇好的开幕式汉译英致辞将起到画龙点睛和鼓舞士气
的作用。本文将通过实例探讨常用翻译技巧在国际学术研讨会开幕
式致辞汉译英中的运用，希望抛砖引玉，给各位科技领域从事翻译
工作的同仁提供一些启示，从而促进科技领域国际合作事业的发展。

人类发展过程中所面临的许多共同问题，如粮食和水、贫困和
平等、能源和环境、气候变化等给世界各国政府提出了挑战。应对
上述挑战的唯一途径就是不能再像以往一样得过且过，而是应该积
极寻求解决途径，制定相应的政策，采取必要的措施，鼓励和资助
全球科学家进行国际合作，为各国政府制定政策提供以实证为基础
的科学依据。科学领域进行国际合作的一个重要形式就是召开国际
学术研讨会。一篇好的开幕式汉译英致辞将起到画龙点睛和鼓舞士
气的作用。本文将通过实例探讨常用翻译技巧在国际学术研讨会开
幕式致辞汉译英中的运用，希望抛砖引玉，给各位科技领域从事翻
译工作的同仁提供一些启示，从而促进科技领域国际事业的发展。
一、减词
开幕式致辞的开篇首先要提及参会贵宾。中文习惯是在称谓前
加“尊敬的”或“亲爱的”等形容词，一般英译时应遵循英语行文习惯，采用减词技巧，对这类形容词不进行翻译。
例一：尊敬的本杰明主席、尊敬的帕维尔教授
译文：president benjamin， professor pavel
二、增词
汉语中名词可单独使用，而英语中名词之前通常要放置冠词或
物主代词，也可使用名词的复数形式，否则不可单独使用。
例二：很高兴、很荣幸来参加研讨会
译文：it’s my great pleasure and honor to attend the workshop.
物主代词“my”，定冠词“the”在原文中没有，是译成英文时后加上去的，这样才能保证译文语法正确。
三、词类转译
由于汉英两种语言表达方式不尽相同，翻译时如果名词译名词、动词译动词的逐词对译，就会造成译文不通顺，因此必要时应该进
行词类转译。
例三：首先，请允许我代表xxx单位对研讨会的召开表示衷心
的祝贺，对与会科学家的到来表示热烈的欢迎。
译文：first， please allow me， on behalf of xxx， to sincerely congratulate the opening of the workshop and
warmly welcome the scientists present here.
原文中“衷心的”和“热烈的”是形容词，在译文中转换成了副词，译为sincerely和warmly。原文中“祝贺”和“欢迎”是名词，在译文
中转换成了动词。从而使译文更加通顺和简练。
由于汉英两种语言句法结构不同，有些情况下需要合译与分译。
例四：本次研讨会的主题是气候变化。与会专家将紧紧围绕这
一主题进行深入探讨。
译文：the theme of this workshop is climate change， on which topic the participating experts would hold in-depth discussion.
原文中两个中文短句在译文中通过定语从句连接成为一个句子。
例五：本次研讨会为各位专家在项目指南发布前，寻找合作伙伴，进行充分的学术交流和项目设计提供了一个非常好的平台。
译文：at the workshop， the individual expert could find a collaborator， fully exchange academic ideas and jointly
design a proposal. so it is a very good platform.
原文实际上是两层意思，一层意思说明研讨会的重要意义，另
一层点明研讨会是一个很好的平台。利用分译能够更好的把两层意
思分别表述清楚。分译的好处在口译中特别明显。
五、减少动词的使用
中文重意合，有点像并联电路，句子较短，可连续使用多个动词。英文重行合，有些像串联电路和树形结构，一般只使用一个主
要动词，其他动作含义要幺用分词短语表达，要幺化成介词结构。
例六：希望各位专家能够利用会议间隙到周围历史名胜去看看。
译文：i wish all the experts to tour the historical sites and famous sceneries nearby during the sideline of the workshop.
原文中动词有“希望”、“利用”、“到”、“去看看”等4个，在译
文中只有一个“wish”，其余动作用不定式短语和介词短语来表达。
总之，正是由于中英文的特点不同，在汉译英过程中，绝不可能是一一对应的翻译。因此，学习和熟练掌握上述翻译技巧，并将之用于国际学术研讨会开幕式致辞汉译英的翻译实践，必将有助于提高致辞的翻译质量，从而更好的促进科学合作与学术交流。
