《外贸英语函电》课程教学反思 应用英语教研室王成妃 我教授《外贸英语函电》这门课程已经有两轮了,涉及的班级有双专的,也有单专的,还有外包管理学院的。在具体的教学过程中,重点放在三个方面。一是做好相关理论背景知识的讲解。学生在学习过程中会碰到很多专业术语,而对这部分知识的讲解是学生理解外贸信函的基础。二是做好信函内容与结构分析,尽可能用简单的方式为每一种主题的信函抽象出一个结构框架,以使学生能对该类信函了然于胸。三是耐心细致地指导学生完成信函写作实践,以提高学生分析问题和解决问题能力。从实际教学情况来看,这门课程涉及到三个年级的三个不同专业,因此教学的侧重点并不一样。通过两轮的课堂教学,我对这门课程有了深一步的认识。以下是对这门课程进行的一些反思以及教学的对策或建议。 首先,对教材《外经贸英语函电》的教学内容根据课时及重点、难点作了相应的取舍。英文书信是本门课的教学重点。外贸英语函电属于商务信函,商务信函不同于一般的书信,它的组成成分多,成分之间如何排列都有自己固定的格式和范式,有自己的写作原则,向来是学生学习的难点。另外,由于该信函一言一字都代表着公司的形象,因此学好这些知识是写好信函的第一步。虽然主要涉及到进出口贸易实务的各种英文书信往来,但是,鉴于现在电子商务的发展,一方面传统的电传没有退出历史舞台,另一方面,新生的传真和邮件也占了重要的地位。对于这些学生在以后的工作中会经常遇到的东西,它们和信函有着联系和区别,必须加以学习。针对外贸业务环节的信函写作是这门课程的重中之重。在主要业务环节中,把建立业务关系、询盘、还盘、确认、发货、投保、装运、包装以及支付货款、善后的仲裁,投诉和索赔等作为教学的重点,这些是学生在踏上工作岗位之后立刻需应用的。这其中又以还盘、投保、和支付货款为难点,因为这在学生的实际工作中常常会出现各种问题。。这些环节每一步都很重要,需要细细展开来讲述。另外结合课程需要,还需要补充材料,以弥补教材的不足之处。这样,这门课程的任务相当繁重。

外贸函电教材优劣对比分析 以《外贸英语函电(第2版)》与《外贸英语函电》教材为例 教材简介:《外贸英语函电》由李贺、王国石主编,西南财经大学出版社出版,出版时间为2014年4月,是“十二五”应用型系列规划教材。该书通过大量的实例,系统的展示和强化了外贸业务活动中各种商务英语的格式与结构、写作特点、专业术语、常用专业词汇、相关句型和常见表达方式等。该书是应用型教材,所以定位准确,目标明确,目录的设置是一个个章节的学习,让学生掌握在外贸英语学习中每一个知识点,并逐步展开,同时大量的实例的引入培养了学生的实际能力以及在面对真实问题能够举一反三的能力,每一个章节知识点详细且实用性很强,着重培养了学生的专业能力,每一章节最后的练习题能让学生及时巩固所学知识,并且最后一题都是与该章节匹配的写作练习,能让学生掌握并牢固写作能力。 对比分析:作为写作类的商务英语教材,外贸英语函电一直是我国商务英语教学中占绝对优势地位的主干教程,因此大量的外贸英语函电教材出现,但是每一本教材的编写都存在自身的优势和不足。 通过调查研究,最近几年外贸英语函电教材的主要出版社及出版数量的情况如图:

(表 1 ) 我所学专业选用的外贸英语函电教材是由王虹、耿伟主编的《外贸英语函电(第2版)》。 通过学习,我认为该书的优势主要有以下几点: ①每章安排有背景介绍、写作模块等内容,体现了对外贸易发展的实际情况,便于课堂教学和自学。每一章开始的介绍详细地说明了该章节的学习目的、写作对象以及告诉学生应该掌握哪种能力,其中第一章系统的介绍了英文商务信函写作的基本知识,让人一目了然,知道自己学习的是什么,我觉得这对于我学习整本书是很有帮助的。 ②突出基本词汇、句型和格式,学会撰写规范的国际贸易函电。每一章节都附带基本的但是专业的词汇、句型和格式,方便记忆和背诵,有助于我在写出规范的国际贸易信函的过程中有效地运用。 ③每一章节都有几封不同格式的信函范文,且选用的范文都是国际贸易活动的最新材料和实例,让我了解国际贸易活动的商务信函应该是什么样的,通过对不同模板的学习与运用,我知道了如何写出符合国际标准和写作标准的外贸信函。 ④课后的练习题题型多样、内容多样,而且题目是很基本常见的题型,简单但是含金量比较高,考察的不仅是前面所学,还包括英语本身的训练,有针对性,能够让我学以致用。 ⑤这本书的教学设置是以对外经贸商务活动的成交过程为主线,逐步展开,条理清晰,遵循了外贸常规流程,让我很清楚的掌握了一般外贸交易的流程。最后一章还简要介绍了其他常用商务信函的写作技巧,让我学习掌握了不同常用商务信函的写作,我觉得这样的设置是很周到的。 但是该书也存在着不足之处,在我看来,它包括以下几个方面: ①一些范文写的过长,违背了7C原则。例如第二章建立业务关系中,第一篇范文篇幅过长,这在外贸交易中很容易让对方产生烦琐心理,不会想要继续阅读,因为在外贸交易中时间就是金钱,对方不会想要花费太多时间来阅读你写的信函,更何况像那种群发邮件,太复杂的对方可能看都不想看,最好是让对方一眼就能看出你的用意和你的诚意,能够瞬间抓住你的潜在客户的注意力,你和你的公司才能获得商机。
