Why play games? Because they are fun, and a lot more besides. Following the rules...planning your next move...ac ting as a team member...these are all “game” ideas that you will come across throughout your life.

Think about some of the games you played as a young child, such as rope—jumping and hide—and—seek. Such games are entertaining and fun. But perhaps more importantly, they

translate life into exciting dramas that teach children some of the basic rules they will be expected to follow the rest of their lives, such as taking turns and cooperating (合作).Many children's games have a practical side. For countries experiencing natural disasters or war, an Olympic win can mean so much.

Sports are also an event that unites people. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world. People on all continents play it—some for fun and some for a living. Nicolette Iribarne, a Californian soccer player, has discovered a way to spread hope through soccer. Before Johann Gutenberge developed the printing press in 1436, news traveled by word of mouth. This meant that information was slow to reach the public and that details changed as news spread from one person to the next. Rrinted matter, such as news papers, made it possible for information to be gathered in a central office and for news to be written more accurately. In 1844 Samuel Morse made a system of sending coded messages through electric wires perfect, founding an early form of long-distance communication. The work of communications was developed rin 1858 though the work of Julius von Reuter, who made newspapers reach different countries by telegraphing. Mental and health experts believe personality plays an important part in how we experience stress. personality is the way a person acts, feels and thinks.

Some people are aggressive and always in a hurry. They often become angry when things do not happen the way they planned. They belong to “Type A” personality. Studies suggest that these people often get stress-related disorders. The “Type B” personality is calmer. These people are able to deal with all kinds of situations more easily. As a result, they are less affected by stress.

Studies have also shown that men and women deal with stress differently. Women seem to be better able to deal with stress than men are. For a man, the best way is to rest and forget about daily problems. But a woman suffering from stress needs to talk about her probelms.”

Experts say there are several ways to deal with stress, including deep breathing, exercise, eating healthy foods, getting enough rest and balancing the time spent in working and playing. Exercise is one of the most effective stress-reduction measures, as physical canges from exercise make you feel better. In addition, exercise can also improve the body's defense system against disease.

About this there are two different views. Some students think it provides us with a good chance to communicate with each other and develop our friendship, and besides, we can relax after hard work at school. However, some other students think it's a waste of money and time

and can lead us to getting into the bad habit of trying to keep up with the Joneses, which has a bad effect on our growth and studies.

As far as I'm concerned, it's not easy for our parents to make money and keep us at school for education. So there is no need for us to do like that. We must treasure our parents' labor and put our hearts into our studies.

What do you think about it? I'm expecting your reply.
