1.profession (n.) 职业，专业

短语：by profession 以……为职业

eg: He is a lawyer by profession.

practice a profession 从事某职业

the legal / medical profession 法律/ 医疗职业（界）

2.convince (vt.) 使确信/ 相信，使认识到

eg: Maria had convinced herself that he didn’t love her. 玛利亚说服自己相信他并不爱她。

句型：convince sb. of sth. 使某人确信

eg: He failed to convince the jury of his innocence.

他没能说服陪审团相信他的无辜。

扩展：convincible (a.) 可/ 能被说服的

convincingly (ad.) 说话令人信服地

convincing (a.) 有说服力的，使人信服的

a convincing speaker 有说服力的演讲者

4.stimulate

(1) (vt.): encourage; excite 激励，鼓励

eg: The government should do more to stimulate investment in the north.

政府应该采取进一步措施来鼓励在北部的投资。(2) (vt.) 激发（学习新知识的兴趣）

eg: Such questions provide a useful means of stimulating students’ interest.

这样的问题确实是激发学生兴趣的有效手段。

5.distribute (vt.) 分发；分送

eg: The two men were convicted of distributing anti-government leaflets.

7.analysis (n.) 分析(pl) analyses

3.leave out 不包括（某人或某物）；遗漏

eg: You left out an important detail in your report of the accident.
