《小学生英语朗读习惯的培养研究》中期研究成果报告

《小学生英语朗读习惯的培养研究》是全国基础教育外语教学研究资助金项目2006—2007年度立项课题,课题研究经过一年的实践和研究,已基本完成了前期研究任务,已进入研究中期。现将我们前期的研究成

果报告如下:

一、问题的提出

朗读对于学生学好英语的重要性是不言而喻的,作为一线小学英语教师,在日常教学中我们更是深切地

体会到这点,能够说朗读是学好英语的必要手段,但在教学中我们发现学生存有着“哑巴英语”现象,究

其原因主要还是学生的朗读训练不过关,朗读习惯未形成所致。所以在最初参加全国基础教育外语教学研

究资助金项目2006—2007年度立项课题申请时,我们结合西部中小城市小学英语教学的特点,立足于我国基础教育改革大背景,紧紧围绕英语课程标准,确立了以小学生英语朗读习惯培养为研究重点地科研课题。

二、现状调查

在实验初期我们通过制定问卷、口头调查、观察对比等发现学生普遍对英语朗读重视仅限于口头而未付

诸于行动,主动朗读英语的习惯几乎没有,能够做到朗读的部分学生,也是在家长、老师的督促下不得已

而为之,学生英语朗读习惯不稳定,部分学生根本没有英语朗读的习惯,更谈不上准确的朗读方法和技巧了。课题组成员通过研究,结合学校工作的实际,决定从学校、家庭、假日充分利用各种有效的时间锻炼

学生的语言,创设语言氛围,提供朗读材料,具体朗读要求,组织训练及指导朗读等,使得课题研究得以

顺利展开,取得了初步成绩。

《小学生英语朗读习惯的培养研究》经过前期的研究与试验,在学生英语朗读习惯的形成,英语素养的

提升及学生人格的发展和教师自身业务和科研水平的提升等方面都取得了一定的成效。

(一)学生英语朗读的习惯初步形成

实验初期阶段,我们制定了前测试题,并对所选择的实验对象实行诊断性测试,目的在于了解实验起点,收集资料,掌握学生朗读的现状。前测调查显示,有41%被测者不喜欢英语,没有主动朗读习惯。被测者

朗读水平普遍较差。通过研究前测情况,我们掌握了学生当前朗读现状及形成原因,确立了具体的研究策

略及实施步骤。

1.明确目标,任务驱始,形成习惯。

根据前测的调查结果我们各位课题组成员,经过反复的研讨决定结合我校实际制定了“阶段目标朗读法”,即各位教师从自己所带班学生的实际和儿童的心智发展特点出发,选择适合的朗读材料对学生提出具体要求。例如,在确定朗诵材料后教师提出明确要求,先在三天内读会,一周内能熟练、流利朗读。一周后要

向全班同学展示朗读其他同学给予评价。这样经过一个循序渐进的,由被动到主动训练过程,80%的学生在指定的时间内达到了老师提出的朗读要求,学生在完成任务的过程中体验朗读的成功与快乐,这种任务驱

动策略充分体现了以学生为中心的教育理念,从而最大限度地调动了学生的朗读积极性。学生的朗读习惯

逐渐形成了。

2.课内外相结合实行朗读训练效果明显。

孔子说:“不愤不启,不悱不发。”对我们实行朗读教学很有借鉴意义。在学生实行朗读习惯培养的过程中我们在课堂教学中制定了“听—说—读”三步教学过程,首先把朗读材料不看闭上眼集中注意力听一遍录音或老师范读,然后凭借记忆尽可能的复述,再跟着示范读。

放学回到家后,实行“听—读—录”三步复习。即再听录音材料,熟练地朗读后,实行录音与原文比较,这样以朗读材料为中心从大到小逐渐深入,从模糊到清楚,逐渐准确,重视了整体语言水平的训练。经过一年的训练各实验班级的英语朗读水平有了大幅度的提升。

另外,我们还利用课余时间组织多样的朗读表演和比赛等活动,即时地对学生的朗读效果实行检测,也使得初步形成的朗读习惯得以巩固。也极大地提升了同学们参与英语活动的积极性,在咸阳教育电视台举办的“全国希望之星英语风采”大赛咸阳赛区选拔赛中,我校共有30名同学进入决赛,并取得好成绩。

(二)丰富了语言积累,提升了英语素养,提升了学业成绩。

英语朗读习惯的形成,促使学生积累朗读材料丰富了词汇,积累了语言知识,训练了思维,拓展了知识的深度和广度,提升了英语综合实践水平。

1.学生掌握了初步的朗读技巧。

在前期调查中我们发现学生对英语朗读的技巧知之甚少,以为朗读就是放开噪门大声喊,还有很多学生在朗读时养成了唱读,逐词读或跳过生词读的习惯,这不但影响文章的整体理解,更不能感受语言的节奏和音韵之美。一篇生动鲜明而具体的语言材料被读得支离破碎而枯燥乏味。

教师通过反复的训练指导,学生初步掌握了节奏,重读、连读、语调的升降等朗读技巧,对于所有语言材料,现在80%的同学能较为标准地朗读了。

2.培养了一定的英语语感。

在课题研究初期我们调查发现20%的同学不喜欢念出声,常以默读代替朗读,因为缺乏口腔肌训练,口腔肌和大脑思维不能协调配合而导致语音、语调、节奏和语义不能自然结合,而语感与口腔肌的训练密切相关,所以这些同学说出的英语缺乏一种味道,是典型的Chinglish,我们通过朗读训练而强化舌部肌肉的方法,坚持以快速、高声、清晰的方式来多读、多识,经过一段时间的训练,口腔自然适合了英语语音语调,从而产生出语感效应。

另外,教师通过范读或播放录音,保持学生的注意力,唤起他们的感知和想象,通过音调的变化产生一系列的声音形象,使学生的听觉、视觉等器官协调地实行活动,这样利用声音的形象也增强了学生的语感。

3.通过朗读,学生感受到了语言的魅力

学生在朗读中通过抑扬顿挫的语调,快慢适中的语速,板眼分明的节奏中体会到“语音”的艺术性。通过朗读习惯的培养,有50%的学生语言使用熟练,能够形成一种直感,在短时间内,对语言能够领悟,有所辨别。优美的语言在朗读的过程中被赋予声音的外壳后最充分地表现出来。学生感觉到美的语言不须刻意雕塑,得体、疏畅、上口便是“雅”,从而有了创雅的意识。

经过朗读训练,学生开始熟悉英语规律,加深对文章的理解,能领悟到文章精妙之处。学生也为作品的内涵所吸引,被作品的情感打动,为作品的意境所陶醉,英语学习的自觉性也逐步形成。

4.促动了学生学业成绩的提升,提升了教育质量

学贵有疑,从产生疑问到消除疑问是学生学有长进的一个历程。朗读使文字和声音相结合,使学习者同时观其形,读其音,闻其声、解其意,调动了大脑神经细胞的积极活动,引发思维。学生初读文章时不理解,不懂的问题,通过自读自想而消除掉了,同时朗读又是记忆的基础,朗读巩固、记忆已学的知识。朗读中涉及的语音、语法、词汇等得以充分地理解。

经过一段时间的朗读训练我们各实验班的学生学习成绩明显呈上升趋势,在2007年咸阳小学英语教学质量检测中我校的实验班级的教学成绩位列榜首。英语教学质量受到当地教育部门的肯定及家长的一致好评。

(三)英语朗读习惯的培养,促动了学生健康人格的发展。

通过朗读习惯的培养,学生的表达意识得到增强,一些性格内向的学生家长反映,自从孩子养成朗读习惯后变得开朗大方了,他们敢大胆模仿,不怕难为情了。能够想办法克服朗读材料中的生词、难句,不知不觉中有了克服困难的决心。朗读使学生突破了自身心理围墙,注意自我改造语言环境,能够敢干开口,不怕嘲笑,不怕丢脸,树立了为说好一句英语而磨破嘴皮的决心,克服了很多有碍朗读的不良习惯,增强学习英语的自信。

(四)教师的业务与科研水平得到提升

参与课题研究的教师在实行课题研究的过程中,集体研究,边实践边研究,通过思考、学习和总结,大家的理论水平和教学水平都有了长足的发展和提升。获得了较好的成绩并得到了各界的认可和好评。

杨路英老师的论文《在开放式英语教学环境中注重学生个性发展》和《浅谈校学英语四大关》分别在《中国教育杂志》和《陕西省课改教研》上发表;吴妮老师的《打好英语朗读的基础》在咸阳市教育教学论文及学术成果大赛中获二等奖并在《教师报》发表;邹晓玲老师的《浅谈校学英语教学遵循的原则》也在咸阳市教育教学论文及学术成果大赛中获二等奖;张婉丽老师的《朗读——小学英语教学的重要环节》在《咸阳日报教育周刊》上发表。同时,在2007年咸阳市校学英语教师技能大赛中我校杨路英、吴妮、张婉丽三位教师获得了较好的成绩。

四、后续的研究

通过以上说明,我们通过课题研究取得了初步成效,为我们后期的深入研究打下了一定的基础,但进入后期研究阶段我们仍存有大量需要解决的问题。

首先,我们要继续研究读与说的关系。虽然,通过朗读大量的信息输入并通过内部语言系统理解、吸收了,但要要把这些材料经过转化变为外部语言,能够自如地表达还是我们需要深入思考和研究的方向。

其次,继续巩固和强化小学生已建立的英语朗读习惯。小学生的年龄特点和所处的环境都会对已形成的英语朗读习惯构成影响,所以,我们需要持续地给学生输入准确的信息,使得良好的习惯得以保持。

最后,各位参研教师还要在朗读方法、技巧、素材积累、语言环境的创设等方面多下功夫,实行指导和协助,以期达到理想的目标。

谈谈我对小学英语朗读的训练方法 工作十几年多了,个人觉得英语教学中听说读写不可缺少,尤其是读和说很重要。《外语教学与理论》一书中提说:“学外语主要靠‘经历’(experince)培养语言交际能力,而不是靠教师的讲解或理性的分析。”小学英语教学也是如此,各种朗读训练是增加这种“经历”的有效方法,加强小学英语的朗读训练,在英语教学中,引导小学生声情并茂的朗读,不仅可以使小学生在各种朗读中感受英语的语音、语调和节奏,使小学生的听觉能力和思维能力在朗读中得到培养,更可以给人以美的享受,使小学生想读、爱读,进而爱说、爱学。 一、小学英语朗读训练的必要性与紧迫性 目前我班上的学生在英语朗读时存在诸多问题,如:很多学生在读英语时唱“仰脸歌”,拖音很重,毫无感情;有的学生不敢读,表情僵硬,声音很轻,害怕出“洋相”……小学只是英语学习的启蒙和起始阶段,这种拖音和不敢读现象,不仅影响到教学质量的提高,而且对小学生以后的英语学习非常不利。因此,加强小学英语的朗读训练显得非常必要和紧迫,探索有效的朗读训练方法对于激发小学生的学习兴趣,促进英语教学质量的提高,有着举足轻重的作用。 二、小学英语朗读训练的具体方法 1、针对心理特点,激发学生的朗读热情

激发小学生的英语朗读热情是探索朗读训练方法的首要一步。依据小学生的年龄、心理特点,可以从两个方面着手:①教师的良好示范。英语教师的朗读水平对学生产生直接影响,教师声情并茂的朗读会给学生以美的享受,从而引起学生的朗读欲望。学校组织的英语天天读活动中尽量自己带读或找语音语感很好的同学来带以免误导。②多种形式的课堂朗读训练。不要将课堂的英语朗读仅仅当作检查小学生是否完成朗读任务的手段,而是要采用形式丰富的朗读,如:分角色读、“开火车”读、小老师领、小组赛读、男女生赛读等,给学生提供展示的机会,满足他们的表现欲望。 2、开展朗读比赛活动(今后努力的方向),培养学生的学习兴趣 各种丰富多彩的朗读活动,对学生的心理有潜移默化的作用。当朗读比赛活动成为英语学习生活的一部分时,学生就会表现出对朗读的极大兴趣。例如:在班级中设立“英语朗读明星”、“每周朗读一星”等。我今后在任教的二,三年级两个班争取每月开展一次“英文朗读比赛”,评选出“英语朗读明星”,将照片帖在英语角里。这样一年下来,学生对英语的朗读有了独特的兴趣,朗读水平也有了很大的提高。 当然,朗读时也有很多学生在模仿教学磁带发音时,对西方人朗读时表现出的升调、降调和节奏变化,感到难为情,比如很多学生对“th”的发音方法都清楚,但就是不愿意正确发
