走进中考(山东潍坊·2010)

Expo 2010 is held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31.People all over the world are looking forward to it.Here are several golden rules on how to best plan your trip.

Rule 1:Do your homework

Read everything you can before going.Really study the maps.Know the pavilions.Arrive at the entrance nearest to the things you want to see.Have a plan.It will make a big difference.

Rule 2:Allow plenty of time

Expo 2010 is the largest attraction event in the history of the world. It will take many days to see it.Plan to spend from five to eight days or more seeing it.

Rule 3:Pace yourself

Expo is enormous. The distances are punishing. It is better to spend a day seeing a single area than to run back and forth all over the

site.Remember to wear the most comfortable shoes.Never mind what they look like.

Rule 4:Get going in May

At many Expos the crowds are smaller in May and in early June than any other time. And beware the last two weeks.During every Expo, people delay their visits and then in early October they suddenly realize,"Expo will close soon! I haven't seen it!" As a result, the last several weeks usually have the most crowded days of the entire Expo.Rule 5:Find out what everyone else is doing and do the opposite

If you don't like large crowds and long lines,do the opposite. Here is an example:Most people go on Saturdays or on holidays. So avoid Saturdays and holidays.Go on weekdays when most people are at work.Rule 6:Turn up

Expo 2010 is the largest celebration in China's history —an amazing once in a lifetime event. When it is gone and it will never be seen again. So whatever you do,don't miss it!

Before roads needed traffic lights, railways had used signals(信号)

to control train traffic. In early days, these signals included a ball and something that looked like a kite. When the kite was on top,it meant danger;when the ball was raised,it was safe.

In 1841,a developed railway signal was used at the London station. It included a signal arm in the horizontal(水平的) position which meant "stop".The signal was painted red so that it was easy to see and could attract the drivers' attention.

At night, oil lights were added on the top.A red light meant "stop" and a white light meant the drivers could go on.

In January 1876,a train knocked on another train running ahead on the same roads, because the signals were not clear enough.13 people were killed in the accident and the others were badly hurt.

Then people changed the signal. The signal for "stop" became a red light and a yellow light was added to tell the drivers to drive carefully. In 1893,a green light took the place of the white light, because the white light was often mistaken for a street or house light.

2019中考英语阅读理解100篇(一):中考英语阅读理解真题及答案(1-20)(完整版)

中考英语阅读理解100篇:中考英语阅读理解真题及答案(1) Edward rose early on the New-year morning. He looked in every room and wished a Happy New Year to his family. Then he ran into the street to repeat that to those he might meet. When he came back, his father gave him two bright, new silver dollars. His face lighted up as he took them. He had wished for a long time to buy some pretty books that he had seen at the bookstore. He left the house with a light heart, expecting to buy the books. As he ran down the street, he saw a poor family. “I wish you a Happy New Year.” said Edward, as he was passing on. The man shook his head. “You are not from this country.” said Edward. The man again shook his head, for he could not understand or speak his language. But he pointed to his mouth and to the children shaking with cold, as if (好像) to say, “These little ones have had nothing to eat for a long time.” Edward quickly understood that these poor people were in trouble. He took out his dollars and gave one to the man, and the other to his wife. They were excited and said something in their language, which doubtless meant, “We thank you so much that we will remember you all the time.” When Edward came home, his father asked what books he had bought. 中考英语英语阅读理解精选附答案 一、英语阅读理解专项练习试卷 1.阅读理解 Earlier this year, China achieved a new milestone (里程碑) in space research. On January 3, 2019, Chang'e-4 became the first lunar probe (月球探测器) in history to successfully land on the far side of the moon. The Earth's gravity (重力) slows the moon's rotation (自转), matching it to the speed of its orbit (公转). Therefore, the far side of the moon is almost "dark" and has never been seen. It's this sense of the unknown that makes the far side of the moon such an interesting place for scientific and space research. Being blown by solar (太阳的) winds, the far side may have the special minerals (矿物质). For this reason, Chang'e-4 will study the effect of solar winds on the lunar surface and any mineral found by the spacecraft. Chang'e-4 is also carrying flower seeds, potatoes and silkworm eggs to see whether life is possible on the moon. If it is, then the moon will become a possible choice for space travel in the future. However, research of the "dark" side isn't easy. As the far side is blocked(阻断) off from us, radio noise coming off Earth is also blocked. This is why China's relay satellite (中继卫星) Queqiao was sent up in May, 2018. Thanks to Queqiao, the communication problem between Earth and Chang'e-4 has been well solved. Power supply (电源供应) is also a challenge to the task. Chang'e-4 gets energy from the sun through its solar panels. As we know, a lunar day has the length (长度) of 28 Earth days. After Chang'e-4 was sent up on December 8, 2018, it took the probe over 20 days to orbit the moon to be in a position to be able to land in moon daylight and use its solar panels. Luckily, everything goes well, Chang'e-4 has worked on the "dark" side for over 5 months. It has sent back many photos of the far side of the moon and has been used to carry out some scientific experiments. The New York Times used the word "groundbreaking" to praise the task and wrote that "it will offer help to the history and development of the moon". (1)When was Chang'e-4 sent up? A. In May, 2018. B. On December 8, 2018. C. On January 3, 2019.

(英语)中考英语阅读理解专项训练及答案 一、英语阅读(日常生活类) 1.阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C三个选项中选出最佳答案。 If you look at the top of your phone, you'll usually see a little symbol that says 3G or 4G. The "G" stands for the "generation" (代)of your mobile network. But the symbols will become things of the past after 5G networks fully arrive. On March 30, Shanghai vice-mayor Wu Qing made the first 5G video call on a Huawei Mate X Smartphone. Shanghai has also become the first city in China to start testing 5G networks. About 100 times faster than 4G networks, 5G will let people download and upload data(数据) faster than ever before. But 5G won't just bring faster mobile internet. People can use it for many other things as well. For example, 5G will help to make self-driving cars safer. Today's self-driving test cars have one problem-lag(延迟). When the car "sees" an obstacle(障碍物), it sends this information to a data center and receives instructions, However, it will be some time before it sends and receives this information. With this kind of lag, the cars might crash because they don't receive instructions in time. With 5G, this lag will be greatly lowered, making the cars safer. 5G could also be used to power the internet of things (IoT), that is, a large online network that connects all things and people. Fast internet speeds will be the key to developing this technology. The IoT could be used in a lot of ways. For example, with IoT, your refrigerator could automatically (自动地) place an order online for eggs when it finds that there are no eggs left inside. (1)Which city was 5G tested for the first time? A. Beijing. B. Shanghai. C. Shenzhen. (2)What can we infer(推测) according to the passage?. A. 5G is widely used in China now. B. 5G networks will make our lives more convenient. C. There are no symbols at the top of our phones. (3)The writer uses self-driving cars as an example to . A. explain how 5G's fast speed can be helpful B. warn about the possible dangers of self-driving cars C. explain how self-driving cars work (4)What is IoT according to the passage? A.
