Mostly I like to find a cool place to sit down and chit chat with my friends in leisure time.

With my friends. We hang out and play video games, watch movies, drink a few beers, do karaoke, and play cards. As long as we are together it doesn’t really matter what we do.

3.Do you think it’s important to have leisure time?

Yes, it’s what keeps people going, and that avoids being burned out. Hard work is a virtue that must be balanced by leisure anyway.

Ya ….like watching movies while eating your favorite snacks…very important to have that… or have

a message…in this stressful life we need to have an outlet. All work and no play makes Jack a dull

boy.

4.How do you usually spend the weekend?

Spending time with my parents, I usually help them with housework and talk to them about what’s going on in my life.

At home with my husband and baby, playing games, watching movies and talking anything. I can’t think of anyplace else I would rather be ….

5.Which do you prefer, Saturday of Sunday?

Actually, there’s no difference for me as I’m a student. I hang out on both.

Saturday, because I can sleep late and stay up late. Sunday is okay, but I have to go to work on Monday, so thoughts of work start entering my head on Sunday evenings.

音乐

1.What kinds of music do you like to listen to ?

Well, I am not too fond of music. But sometimes I do like listening to religious music. It gives peace to my mind and joy to my soul.

hop, jazz, rock, and classica…

2.Do you play any musical instruments?

No, not at all. I am very unmusical! Can’t even sing in tune.

Yes, when I was in school, I learned to play the violin but I don’t play it anymore, and I think I’ve forgotten how.

3.What instrument do you most enjoy listening to ?

Saxophone is simply great, because it can express so much emotion so easily. It can be somber or sometimes playful.

Violin. It’s just so beautiful…it’s soothing and relaxing when played one way and invigorating and exciting when played another way.

4.Is music an important subject at school in China?

Yes it is .Kids started music lessons even at primary school in China. Music is a very powerful subject.

No ,not as important as math or English I’m afraid, although research shows that music is so important and can help in other learning, but yet, it’s not given enough importance in schools.

5. Do you think it’s important for children to learn to play a musical instrument?

It definitely is . music can elicit the imagination of kids. Also, it teaches them how to distinguish beauty from nature.

Sure. By learning how to play a musical instrument, children can learn many things. They can learn self-discipline, determination, and how to appreciate music better.

游戏

1.What games do you like to play?

I’m crazy about computer games, which revives my worn spirits. I’ve collected many PC games like NBA Live 2006, War 3…

My friends and I are a bunch of juniors and seniors in high school. We love playing games at lunch, when we’re eating out. Mostly we play cards or a kind of party game called the Mafia. It’s terribly fun.

2.Can you play this game with friends?

I can but I don’t . it’s a kind of PC or Video game which is available for at least 2 players. But I

normally play it on my own because I like to solve the problems I face in the gae myself.

Sure, like I said, we love laughing and having fun.

3.What games are popular in China?

Actually, computer game is the most popular game in China now. How can you imagine 50,000people are playing one particular game online at the same time?

Video games, online games, party games, ball games ,but I guess board games are the most popular.

4.What benefits do people get from playing games?

As what I said, it revives people’s worn spirits after work of school and also, people are given exercises in brain stimulation, interaction with others and decision-making.

For one thing, playing games is a great stress reliever. Also, it fosters the ability to focus and benefits the brain as some of the games, like chess or jigsaw, are quite mentally stimulating.

5.How have computers influenced the games people play?

I would rather say Internet influenced the games a lot. With the developing of online games, millions

of people can play online and interact with each other. I think gamers have much more adventurous

and fun experiences playing online.

Computers have made games more and more adventurous and attractive. People can even interact with each other online, play the games together and compete with each other. So computer games become more exciting.

2.it depends on how much leisure time I have. Mostly I will read 2 hours a day before sleep. However, it

could be reduced to naught when the final exam is around the corner.

And explain why this is relaxing for you

素材库

1.at the beginning, I thought that was just a fashionable hobby with women in their 20s and 30s,

because Hollywood stars like Julia Roberts, Cameron Diaz and Madonna all knit, they lead the way. I go back home from work, mad and stressed almost every day and after I start knitting I am really into

it and find I am totally relaxed . it helps me clear my head and start fresh. No exaggeration to say, knitting slows down my heart and lowers my blood pressure. I like to knit wonderful purses and scarfs , which is very romantic and colors my life.

I’m often attracted by the wonderful description and absorbed in a deep thought when I am reading. This is the best way for me to unwind after studying hard for a long time.

Part 3

Relaxing

1.is it important for people to relax?

Yes for sure. People are facing great trouble and a lot of pressure in daily work ,and have been always confused about many things. what should we do to prevent ourselves from this king of condition?

Relaxation prevents stress-related ailments like heart problems, strokes or even insomnia. It also ensures that you are able to keep your level of alertness to a high degree.

Sure. Every one needs relaxation to get refreshed after hard work. What’s more, success at work does not depend on the amount of time you work. It depends upon the quality of work. And the quality depends significantly on how often people refresh themselves through relaxation. So relaxation is definitely important.

2. Compare how young people relax with how older people relax?

For youths, they like to listen to music or go out for drinks with best friends. Youths can do everything they feel relaxed to relax, seriously. Seniors are different, and it seems they always relax with a cup of cinnamon tea and a book or black and white movie. Or sometimes snuggling with their favorite blankets reminiscing the good old time.

To relax themselves, most young people try to seek excitements and follow the trend. Doing aerobics, going to the Karaoke bar etc. are popular with young people. In contrast, older people, because of their physical conditions, tend to be more conservative. They often choose less exciting ways to relax, such as playing chess, drinking tea or taking a walk.

3.Are there any differences in the ways people relax now compared to , say 20 or 50 years age?

There are many differences: people eat out more and go for trips more due to the rise in living standard. People are surfing the net to have fun that did not exist 50 years ago. There are many trends too, from tai chi to yoga.

Absolutely yes, the development of science and technology enables us to have more options to relax compared with several decades ago. Meanwhile, the ways to relax become more scientific, too. For example, in lacking of entertainment facilities, people walked or ran a long time to relax many years ago. However science tells us now that it’s harmful and less people do like that today.

4. In the future, do you think people will have more time than now to relax, or less time?

With the fast pace of life, more and more people are under stress and pressure. If the trend continues, I believe they are having less leisure time than in the past.

Due to the great progresses we make in technology, I think people will have more time to relax than now. in the future, more and more work will be done by machines instead of man. We will have more leisure time then.

Recreation Facilities

1. What are the most popular entertainment facilities in your hometown?

Internet is probably one of the most popular entertainment facilities. People communicate with each other in all kinds of chat room. There are also entertaining pages, academic websites, all of which turn the Internet into the most enjoyable facility for young people, as well as seniors.

Tea house is probably one of the most popular entertainment facilities. Drinking tea is not the only activity there. People go there to have a chat, play Mahjong or some other party games like the Mafia.

2.Do you think employers should provide recreation facilities for their employees?

No. The employers should reward their employees who work hard by paying enough money to pay for their own recreation activities on the off hours. I mean they should pay for a gym membership but not provide a place at work.

Yes, for sure. Any employer does not want healthy staff? Recreation facilities like gym make the employees stay in good shape. Obesity and other things are affecting the work force. What’s more, facility like billiard room contributes to employees working harder or being more flexible with their work schedules.

Describe a new or exciting thing that you did recently.

You should say:

What it was

When you did it

Who you did it with

And explain why this activity was new or exciting for you.

What it was

素材库

1.Skydiving jump. It was the first adventurous activity in my life.

2.I watched a football match of China Super League in the stadium. That match was between the team

of Beijing and the team of Shandong.

https://www.360docs.net/doc/d08875486.html,st Friday Rain held his solo concert at Workers Stadium in Beijing. I went to the concert and met

my favorite pop stat. after the concert, I even shook hands with him. It was a fantastic experience.

When you did it

素材库

1.We made it last summer. It was a nice sunny day when we went to skydive. We took a six-hour course

and were ready to subdue the sky.

2.that was last Sunday, a brilliant and fine day, though it was a little cold . We started out at 4:00 pm and

arrived at the stadium at around 6:00 pm. The match was going to begin at 7:00 pm.

Who you did it with

素材库

1.I went for it with my classmates. I was a little afraid before my first skydiving jump, but my

classmates encouraged and convinced me to do it.

2.I went with a friend who is also a huge fan of football. Actually I got the ticket from her, for free,

because her boyfriend is a journalist who had several tickets.

And explain why this activity was new or exciting for you

素材库

1.Wow, it was fantastic! I can’t express all the feelings of free flight. It was the combination of happy,

frightened, excited, and satisfied feelings. All of there feelings happened at the same time. I could see the earth below me as I flew like a bird with my parachute. I remember I was flying my body with my friends, and was building different formations in the sky. Unfortunately I finally landed in the tree, but it was a smooth landing. I wasn’t hurt at all. that was a good lasting memory and all I can think about now is when I would be able to skydive again.

2.I waited patiently and excitedly before the match began. Finally the team players came out and the

audience began to shout the name of the player they like most. The match lasted for about two hours and that was really an incredible game. The final score was three to two, with the team of Beijing the winner. I am a football fan and that was my first time to watch a match in a stadium. I think it was more real and exciting than watching games on TV, because the people around you made you have a sense of belonging. I shouted and cheered with all the audience and the feeling was just so great and so cool. I even couldn’t calm down when I returned to school. The picture of the match kept hovering in my mind. Indeed, for a football fan, nothing can be more thrilling than watching a match in the stadium.

Part 3

New & Exciting Activities

1. Some people think it’s good to experience new things, such as exploring new places. Do you agree?

Yes, without a doubt. Life is boring if you never encounter or try new things. People will never know what’s really out there unless they explore. I went to Egypt last summer, which was a totally new place to me. The civilization of Egypt did broaden my horizons.

Yes, I can’t agree more. Anyway, life is a process to encounter and discover new things, otherwise life would be quite boring. Experiencing new things makes life exciting and colorful. For example, last week some of my friends and I went to the Fragrant Hill. We went down the hill through a small path that is seldom known to others. And this really rocked.

2 . What qualities does one need in order to be an explorer?

To be an explorer, one should be brave, cautious, friendly and open-minded. The ability to pick up local customs and language easily is also important.

To be an explorer, I believe one has to be brave, adventurous, cautious, determined as well as curious.

Most importantly, passion for exploring is needed, for that’s what drives an explorer to keep going on.

3. Do you think young people can handle new expriences and new activities better than old people?

I will say yes, for the most part. Seniors usually prefer comfort and to dwell in what they have built

for themselves, including daily routine. That’s what we call ”falling into a rut ”. Young people like to

keep on trying and learning new things as they can adapt well.

No, actually I believe that anyone with an ipen mind can handle new experiences and activities well.

Young people are always said to be quick-learner, but at the same time, they lack experiences. So they are more impulsive when dealing with new activities sometimes; while the old are more mature.

What’s more, even old people weill find something new to be exciting and stimulating, so whether a person can handle new things well depends more on personality than on age.

Adventurous Activities

1. Can you give some examples of adventurous or risky activities?

I can list many adventurous activities like: bungee jumping, skydiving, scuba and so on. But

adventurous is totally different from risky. I don’t understand why youths today are doing risky things like driving a car without a seat belt or cutting themselves to see how much it bleeds.

For adventurous activities, I will list sky swing, backing and bungee jumping. Besides the sports activities, driving a car without a seat belt, or drug using is also risky and dangerous. And nowadays, it’s fashionable to take part in the adventurous sports.

2. Why do people like to do exciting but dangerous things?

It’s all about the adrenaline rush. I’m a bit cautious, never done things like that before. I think the main reasons people do exciting-dangerous things are: to build up self-confidence, to relieve stress or to remind themselves they are still alive.

In my opinion, first, people strive for the adrenaline rush and they fully enjoy themselves during the process. Then , for some people, they are looking for something to “remind” them that they are alive and there activities can wake up their bodies and souls. Besides, someone is just addicted to the satisfaction when there activities have been finished.

3. Do young people and older people have the same attitudes towards adventurous activities?

No, they don’t in many cases. Adventurous activities seemed exciting and fun for young people. Old people have more of a sense of danger, for example, they though adventurous things started hurting a bit more than they used to.

No, they don’t in most cases. When people are young, they feel immortal, as if the rules of life and death and danger don’t apply to them. That allows them to be adventurous and ignore risks: while as people are getting old, they begin to figure out that it’s more comfortable to dwell in their set life routines, and they value security and safety more. For instance, my grandfather was once strongly against my idea to hike, saying that it’s too dangerous.

雅思口语素材汇总之端午节 雅思口语素材:Dragon Boat Festival(端午节) Qu Yuan The Dragon Boat Festival, also called the Duanwu Festival, is celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month according to the Chinese calendar. For thousands of years, the festival has been marked by eating zong zi (glutinous rice(糯米)wrapped to form a pyramid using bamboo or reed leaves) and racing dragon boats. The festival is best known for its dragon-boat races, especially in the southern provinces where there are many rivers and lakes. This regatta(赛舟会)commemorates the death of Qu Yuan , an honest minister who is said to have committed suicide by drowning himself in a river. Qu was a minister of the State of Chu situated in present-day Hunan and Hubei provinces, during the Warring States Period (475-221BC)(战国时期). He was upright, loyal and highly esteemed for his wise counsel that brought peace and prosperity to the state. However, when a dishonest and corrupt prince vilified Qu, he was disgraced and dismissed from office. Realizing that the country was now in the hands of evil and corrupt officials, Qu grabbed a large stone and leapt into the Miluo River on the fifth day of the fifth month. Nearby fishermen rushed over to try and save him but were unable to even recover his body. Thereafter, the state declined and was eventually conquered by the State of Qin. The people of Chu who mourned the death of Qu threw rice into the river to feed his ghost every year on the fifth day of the fifth month. But one year, the spirit of Qu appeared and told the mourners that a huge reptile(爬行动物)in the river had stolen the rice. The spirit then advised them to wrap the rice in silk and bind it with five different-colored threads before tossing it into the river. During the Duanwu Festival, a glutinous rice pudding called zong zi is eaten to symbolize the rice offerings to Qu. Ingredients such as beans, lotus seeds(莲子), chestnuts(栗子), pork fat and the golden yolk of a salted duck egg are often

。。) i don’t know, but my father think that .....(我不知道,但我的爸爸认为。。。) i don’t know, but my friends thinks that .....(我不知道,但我的朋友们认为。。。) 你可以说:i’m sorry, do you want me to talk about xxxxx?

Dangerous Sports

Why do you think some people are attracted to dangerous sports or other dangerous activities? Use specific reasons and examples to support your answer. Nowadays many people attracted to dangerous sports and other dangerous activities. From my everyday experience and observation I think it is a result of dramatic changes in people's life. Just imagine at old times men had to hunt for food, fight, face many challenges and obstacles. Now our days are quite ordinary with a cup of coffee, donut, computer, desk table and TV. Basically, we do not have to straggle every day for our life and we have nutritious meal without any efforts. So, all we have to do is to contemplate out life. However, I must confess it can be boring. All improvements created for the past centuries made our life easier. Nowadays people look for adventure. They want to face a challenge, prove themselves something, conquer the world, etc. Personally, I think that every person sees different goals in doing dangerous activities. Some people want to add some stress and tension to their lives. From the other side, other people want to eliminate stress and tension gained from their everyday lives. They can forget about all troubles and leave them behind. I believe that dangerous activities give one freedom, happiness, feeling of independence and tone. To sum up, I think that dangerous sports and activities are irreplaceable in our life. Without them out life would be miserable and boring.

下面我们来了解一下雅思口语评分细则: 标准一:Fluency and coherence 流利度与连贯性 6分标准 ①is willing to speak at length, though may lose coherence at times due to occasional repetition, self-correction or hesitation。 ②uses a range of connectives and discourse markers but not always appropriately。 这里的connectives指的是逻辑连接词,比如表示列举的firstly, secondly, finally等,表示转折关系的but, however等,表示因果关系的so,thus, therefore等。 标准二:Lexical resource 词汇多样性 6分标准 ①has a wide enough vocabulary to discuss topics at length and make meaning clear in spite of inappropriacies。

比如:well, you know actually I was going to say … / so basically this means … / it is no exaggeration to say that … / to be honest, … 除了常见的be crazy about, be into, be a fan of, be passionate about等等常见的词组短语,是否有约定俗成的、习语的、少见的表达方式呢?
