正文来看,首句以HOW引领的问句开头，强调文章的主题同时引起读者更多的注意与思考，并随着作者的分析步步深入探究。紧接着做出If的假设句，如果主队想走得更远，到了东部决赛，碰上迈阿密热火队或者印第安纳步行者队，主队也必须拿起自己防守来捍卫自己的半场。所以，当下对阵76人队的时候，主队的防守也成了不得不提的关键因素。这样自然而然的引出了作者的思想：做好防守。
