As for me, what I can imagine about living in the virtual world is that it will exert a negative influence on people’s life. First and foremost, the virtual world has changed the way that people communicate. Deprived of the oral communication in the virtual world, we may finally fail to communicate face to face, which will lead to the perish of woman beings. In addition, with the virtual world separating us from each other, we may become increasingly indifferent and coldblooded, which will do great harm to the maintenance of human relationships.
To sum up, if we want to enjoy our life and maintain good interpersonal relationships, we should realize that the virtual world is totally different from the real one and we should live up to every day in the real world.
My View on E-learning
With the development of science and technology, an increasing number of people prefer to take courses and acquire knowledge online rather than attend school. As a result, e-learning is booming all around the world.
Views vary from person to person on the thriving of e-learning. The majority of people consider it is very necessary to learn online in the future, while others are against the idea. As for me, I agree with the former. As for online learning, it provides learners with many options in term of time, locations, subject and costs. For another, learners can be armed with updated information through online learning. Just by clicking the mouse, any information that you need can be presented to you in on time.
Admittedly, e-learning has many advantages and makes our more convenient and efficient; however, with so much useless and false information abounding on the Internet, chances are that we may get misled. Therefore, it is advisable for us to distinguish the authenticity of information when learning online and make good use of the valuable information.
Robot-an Important Part in Our Life
The progression of technology is inevitable and undeniable, which makes the intelligent machine-robot an important part in our life. As the popularity of robot grows, what will happen to our work and life?
From my point of view, in the future our work in industry will be done by robot, which will raise productivity and cut cost of manpower. Our cooking, washing and cleaning in our daily life will be completed by robot, which will liberate us from trivial housework, and give us more time to do things we like.
However, there is still much real challenge if robot becomes the mainstream of our society. First, the less-skilled people will be out of work as a result of wide application of robot in industry. Second, we will get fatter and fatter with robot doing housework for us.
Based on the above imagination, we may conclude that robot is a double-edged sword. We should draw on the advantages and avoid disadvantages, and make sure that it brings maximum benefits to human beings.
Social Networking Websites and Reading
As we can see from the picture, two persons are discussing about reading. While to our amusement, the boy says his favorite book is Facebook. The picture seems to be humorous and ridiculous but thought-provoking on second thoughts, which intends to inform us that the social network has exerted an important impact on our daily reading.
Opinions vary when it comes to the impact of social networking websites on reading. Some people insist that social network provides large collections of information at a tremendous speed and stimulates their reading interest. On the contrary, other people claim that it is a common phenomenon that a host of youngsters that they don’t have adequate opportunities or time to read traditional books.
There is a saying goes like this, “Every coin has its two sides”. So there is no surprise that there are different opinions about the impact of social networking websites on reading. However, as a college student, I am convinced that it is necessary for us to read on social networking websites, but it is of greater necessary for us to read traditional books, because social networks are just our tools and never can we depend on it in everything.
Useful Information Is Hard to Get
As the picture given depicts, several staff are having a meeting while one of them complained, “We have lots of information technology. We just don’t have much useful information.” What th e picture is trying to present is that even though equipped with advanced devices and information technology, we can hardly obtain helpful information that we need.
A multitude of reasons can account for the phenomenon. First of all, as we are increasingly dependent on various advanced devices, they have brought us a lot of information. However, faced with so much information, we’re actually not competent enough to tell the useful information from the useless one. What’s more, that the network management re gulations are not perfect is a fact that cannot be ignored, which makes it difficult to prevent our life from being lumbered with useless information.
From my point of view, as we are now in a great new era of information, we cannot say no to the benefits that information technology has brought us. However, it’s high time we transferred our focus from obtaining more information to discriminating information. Only in this way can acquire the exact information that we need.
