H:hi,where are you going?

S: we are going to a concert,could you go with us?

Y: what kinds of music do you like ?

H: I like music that has a fast beat and is lively, like dance music. You know, I go to a disco almost every week. Sometimes it’s too loud though. You prefer classical music, don’t you?

Y: yes, I do. I find it very relaxing. I often listen to Mozart or Bach in the evening after a hard day at study.

X: really? Perhaps I should listen to classical music often. I heard that listening to classical music is helpful in reducing stress.

S: yes. That’s why I like listen to concerts. I love classical music,I usually play it as background music while I’m reading or doing housework.

H:I’ve got a few classical music CD’s. I should follow your lead and increase my brian power.

S: you can find plenty of recording on the internet too. You can listen to samples and then buy them very cheaply if you like them.

Y; that’s a good idea. You should do the same with some music. You might find something you like. Classical music might make you clever, but dance might make you livelier and happier.

X: that’s true. There’s clear evidence that people who listen to lively music are lively people. Music can influence a person’s feeling and character.

H:er...would you tell me something about the concert ?

S:It's a solo concert by Pavarotti. He put on the performance in the Forbidden City in Beijing.

H：i feel so tired today !

X ：Are you going to the movie theater with us tonight? 晚上一块去看电影吗？

X：Yes, trying to keep track of all the characters was quite confusing for me. 是啊, 我总想把复杂的人物关系理清楚,结果越弄越糊涂.

H：I also think that it was much better in the theatre than at home.

H:Another problem for me was the film was dubbed in English with chinese subtitles.

H:I've heard The Hitchhiker would be on next week. I want to see it.

A:when i walk in the street ,i usually see a lot of advertisement ,i think it is a world that full of advertisements.

B;Yeah,It is inevitable for us to live without advertisements because it exist all over the place . Look around and you can see different kinds of advertisements.

C:right,there are many media section for advertisements. Such as television,newspapers,radio,internet and so on.

D:i agree ,in our school,we can find advertisements in the bulletin board,classroom ,dormitory ,and even in the washroom. Some advertisements are from government or other organizations.they are aimed to spread a kind of ideal.some are created by company with the purpose of making money.

A:when it comes to advertisements.i would to share an advertisement that impress me.that is “start ahead”which is for Rejoice(飘柔).when look at this advertisement,it is easy for us to think about our head and then we may think we should wash our hair.

B:Em, maybe it is “just do it”.the sentence is simple and is easy to understand .we can different meanings from different angles. for customer ,it seems as if it stand for their willing that they are willing to to choose Nike. For the advertiser.it look like the word they advise you to choose .Nike.it emphasizes the self-awareness(自我意识)and sport itself.Sometimes we may hesitate to do a thing that kept in our mind for a long time.just do it and we will feel rather relaxed and happy as it is what we really want . This advertisement has a great influence on me not because i bought the product but the word itself.i realize that i should be confident enough and make decisive decision.and C?I am very curious about which advertisement in the world impresses you.

C:if i have to say one ,i would like to say “obey your thirst”.On the surface, it means that when you feel thirsty,you should have a drink just like Sprite(雪碧).in other words,it encourages us to pursue what we want,every want freedom and be happy,but usually under the huge pressure,what we did is just for a high grade or earn much money.. do you have any advertisements in you mind? D:let me think .ur...”Let’s make things better.”this an advertisement made for Philips Electronics （飞利浦电子） .it shows the advertiser’belief that they will make their product better,they will not be content with things as they have now,they want to make progress.therefore, we can trust them and buy their product.from another perspective,it also suggest us that we should make thingsbetter not only in our study but also in our daily lives.we should keep this belief in our mind and things will get better and better.

A:Yes,we should make things better,from the advertisements that impress us,i find that the advertisement which both recommend their product and introduce some positive attitude of life will make an deep impression on us.if we remember the advertisement,we will remember their product and buy it if we see it one day.that maybe the reason why ads work.

B:And ds are often short enough for us to remember,such as “Ask for more.”.it is no wonder that we even use it when we talk with each other.it really enter into our daily life.

C:Ads usually use some trope(修辞)like “Poetry in motion,dancing close to me”(动态的诗，向我舞近)forToyota['t?uj?ut?]( 日本丰田汽车) ．so that when we come across it ,we can imagine the scene we use the product.then we will believe that how nice the product is and i had better have one.

D:some ads pay attention to details.for example,”Good to the last drop.”(滴滴香浓，意犹未尽。)（麦斯威尔咖啡）.it tells us that every drop of it is tasty so that you refuse miss the last drop. A:All advertisements are designed to make people buy a product.in most cases,it really affect people’s feeling.people are often buy the product with a good advertisement.

B.that is true.now almost all young people buy the soft drink.because the advertisements are saying “why don’t you buy it ,you can be younger ,modern and trendy too.”.

C:i think sometimes the advertisement don’t tell us the truth or ignore t he side effect of product.we usually buy the things that we do’t need and sometimes the product is not as the ads describe.so we should take care of it .

D:don’t mention the ads , look at your watch .it is time for lunch.let’s go.(赶去食堂)

D:But Keeping a pet is surely a big responsibility .Animals are highly sensitive to how you treat them

C:so we should take good care of them.by the way, A lot of family has single child , they don’t know care others .learning to care for a pet helps a child to grow up into a loving adult who feels

responsible towards those dependent on him

B: Yes,that's true.but which pet is the right one for**?

A: What about a dog? it can protect her from dangers .For example,when a thief breaks into her house,the dog may keep him away at once

D:come on, they pup everywhere, barking every stranger who comes near to them. and you need to make sure they get enough exercise every day.

B: I think the golden fish is the best animal. You don't have to clean them, they stay in the water all day, they clean themselves. Also you just have to feed them once a day, and that's it! They can stay full for maximum ten days! Also, you don't have to walk it, there is no hair on them to bother you.

D:forget it, I have kept a group of goldfish, a few die every day, and finally all dead

B: Hey, C and D, We are talking about the fashion show last night .You didn’t know the people wearing miniskirts at the show.

D: Really? Do you think people can wear that stuff and walk around the streets?

A: Yes, I do, At least, some people certainly can. They wear high-fashion clothes to show off their sense of style and wealth.

B: Well, I still think they‘re dumb. It makes more sense to spend the money on more practical purposes. What do you think of girls wearing miniskirts?

C: Some people believe that good girls should never wear a miniskirts because it is too revealing. On the other hand, there are girls who prefer to break with tradition, play a new ,independent role in society, and therefore they choose to wear something daring and rebellious such as a miniskirt. D: As for me , I’m in favor of the farmer point of view and don’t like those who wear a miniskirt . B: Some people are daring and self-confident by nature. They feel proud of themselves when putting on new, fashionable clothes.

A: That self-confident people is me .I don’t feel shy and on the other hand , I want to be the center

of public attention.

D: Well, I tend to be shy. The last thing I wish to do is to seek the spothight. Naturally, I may feel ill at ease with stylish clothes.

C: As far as I’m concerned, I would feel confident in a new dress, This has something to do with my childhood experience.

B: Do you think fashion shows are necessary in today’s society?

A: Obviously fashion shows have been around for a long time in various parts of the world. This fact shows that they are an indispensable part of the modern culture .

D: However , I ‘d like to point out that the pursuit of fashion should not take up the greater part of our live. After all ,work and study are far more important than fashion show.

A: I agree with you .But do you think people react to you differently when you wear different clothes?

C: Some people do treat me differently according to what I ‘m wearing. They are often called snobs. Fortunately, those people do not represent the majority.

D: Most people judge you by your ability, intelligence and moral integrity rather than by the clothes you ‘re wearing.

X:I think the style is the most important .i only want to buy the things which I like.expecially the one have personal style.

Y:I think only the style is important,the price is also major.though something have petty style,the price is so expensive that I can’t afford it,and it isn’t worth.

X:what is your opinion?H

H:I think to buy something should balance all the factors,proper price,good quality and personal style and I think brand name is also important.it can improve temperament.

S:I agree with your opinion,but famous brand things will expensive.

H:I am trying to think of ways to become rich.if I could get my hands on lots of money.i can do everything I like.i will be really happy.

Y:do you really think so?i am not so sure.

H:of course,why wouldn’t I ?

X:I don’t agree,too.there are plenty of people who have lots of money but don’t happy and are always on tenterhooks what do you say to that?

H:but if I became a millionaire,I can buy everything I want.

X:can you buy true love ?can you buy the moon?

H:maybe not,but I can buy a house with lots of modern conwentences.

S:but look at all the divorces,suicides and murders among wealthy people.

H:maybe there is something in what you said.but nowadays money is really very important.

X:I think so.for example,you want to buy a house in Beijing.it isn’t a not important thing.
