书是人类进步的阶梯，每个人都要读书，如果你没有知识也就好比鸟儿没有翅膀一这样。我向大家推荐的书是―《恐怖的龙卷风》。这本书出自于湖北长江出版集团。这本书的作者是美国的玛丽·波·奥斯本，他是美国著名的文学作家，迄今已作二十余年，作品上百本书，并获得许多奖项，而且担任过两届美国作家协会的主席。这本书的翻译者是篮葆香早年毕业于京外国语大学英语系，曾任黄冈师范学院校长，教授。

这个故事讲述的是八岁的杰克和她七岁的妹妹安妮爬进了一个树屋，发现里面堆满了书籍，聪明的杰克和安妮很。快的发现了那间树屋里是有魔力的。它能把任何人带到想去的地方，只要指着书中的图片说想到哪儿去就能如愿以偿了。一次超棒的时空探险！就这样拉开了帷幕。

他们接受了树屋的任务，树屋把她们带到了一望无际的大草原，他们的任务本就艰难，再加上大草原上时不时刮起的恐怖龙卷风，前进的步伐就更加艰难了。

他们一共有三个任务，第一件任务是，可以遵循的东西，第二件任务是，可以发送的物品，这两件事情她们以经完成了，她们还剩最后一件任务，也是最难完成的。可以学习的物品，这是他们要完成的。杰克的理性冷静喜欢看书，他将他看到的，遇到的，都记录在一本书上，一个多么聪明可爱的孩子呀！安妮也是聪明可爱活泼，她喜爱幻想与冒险，这次的冒险她非常的高兴，个性截然不同的兄妹，她们在大草原上遇到了龙卷风，但是他们不畏艰难，勇敢面对恐怖的龙卷风，她们逃过了龙卷风完成了任务，就回到原来的树屋里面，树屋又把他们安全的送到了家里。

两个聪明的孩子不畏艰难，勇敢，大胆的性格，是多么值得我们学习的呀！
