For, college students, choosing subject is always been a big problem in that it may potentially effect the directions of future lives. Some people belive that students should select the subjects that most likely to lead jobs, while others think interests are always the best teacher. From my perspective, I think students should follow their heart and choose the subject that they most want to study, because interests can give them a higher efficancy and sometimes it is even contradictory with the job selection.

Admittedly, selecting a good job is of great importance for every people, for it determine what kind of lives they will live in the future. Some parents may think Accounting is the best major and because almost every companies have such position. But they fail to consider that even if their child can obtain a job, whether he can perform well in his posisiton if he is not interested in accounting at all. They may make mistakes during their working because of indolence and even be fired by their boss sometimes.

However, if the students choose the subjects that they are very much interested in, they would much likely to spend more time on it and make painstaking efforts to learn this subject well. For example, pianist Lang Lang was considered as a dull boy at his young, and most people think he should learn a easy subjects and find a relatively common job in his future. But his parents found his talent in music and asked him to learn piano. As a result, he successed thanks to the long-lasting interest in piano make him keep practicing almost 12 hours everyday. People vary greatly in their talent and ability, and find the right way is of great significance.

In additon, we can also find that the interest and job are not mutually exclusive. Just like the example mentioned above, when you good at something, it would much likely to become your future's job.

To sum up, although finding a suitable job is important to college students, I still believe that they should follow their heart to choose the area that they may most good at. It would help them in performing good in their future's life as.

In this memo, it author argues that the region of northeastern United States will suffer an increased demand for heating oil during five years. Although the prediction seem to make sense in that some facts have been proposed by the author, close scrutiny reveals that there are many unsubstantial assumptions and logical flaws in the lines of reasoning. These would prevent us from giving a comprehensive evaluation on the author's claim, unless some key questions can be effectively addressed.

To begin with, the author mentioned that people in such region traditionally use oil as the main tool to prevent from cold. However, we should raise some questions to better evaluate the claim. For example, we need to know whether there are new fuels or methods for heating. As the development of technology, people's life can be changed at a very fast speed. If there are some new materials that scientists are focusing and they would show up in the near future, the author's claim will be undermined; on the contrary, if the author can substantiate that oil is the only way for heating in next five years, we would tend to believe author's claim.

Furthermore, another fact raised by the author is about the forecasters' prediction. We cannot know whether the forecasters' statement is tenable. Because even predicting three days' weather is difficult, not to mention for several years. Unless the author can give the examples that there are a large amount historical weather records which shows a similar tendency as this year, we cannot safely believe the author's reasoning according to the forecasters.

Finally, the author believe that there would be more people here because of a fact that many new houses are built in the region. But we may ask whether the population in this region will be grew solely the growth number of houses. If close research find that people only buy houses here as a real estate but would not live in that place, the author's assumption would be untenable in such case. Only a reliable evidence shows that more people would indeed live in such region, the claim can be more believable.

To summarize, although some facts have been raised by the author, the prediction that there would be an increased requirement for heating oil during the next five years is still not convincing, unless some key questions can be adequately addressed.

The debate on technology, including the role it play in humans' life and the effect it brings up, have never ceased and even become more vigor in current society. Some people argue the modern technology which help people solving lots of problems will in turn deteriorate humans' ability and own thinking. However, I am completely disagree with such statement, for human are even facing more challenges compared to the past. And in that way humans own thinking, rather than be deteriorated, would be intensified to some extent.

Admittedly, living in a society with high-speed technology, humans' life have changed greatly and rapidly, and it is true that many abilities have been degenerated. For example, human used to send the paper-based letter to each other, but with the appearance of e-mail, people gradually lose the ability of a good handwriting.

However, from another aspect, new technology also brings people the new challenges like the ability to operate an electronical-based mail in this case. Therefore, we cannot say that humans' own thinking is losing because it is actually changed to other things.

Moreover, the requirement for human to think for themselves will be much strict. We all know the technology not only brings us a slew of useful information, but also a more intense competition. People who wants to have a good job and a better life in the future must learn more things compared to the past. For instance, nowadays more and more parents ask their children to learn some outside-class skills, such as music or painting. Children almost give up their weekends in order to have a better future. What is more important for them is they must balance the school classes and out-school subjects, which is a much difficult thing for children. In this cases, children's ability to deal with different things have been largely improved.

Finally, I am not to say that all things that technology brings to us are benefit. One can easily find examples that many people who addicted with the Internet have largely lose their individuality. Therefore, the only way to keep from being damaged by the fast-speed technology is to keep the brain clear and know what should and should not do. Challenges are always a two-blade sword that only the real adroit people can get benefit from it.

To sum up, although technology which helps us in solving problems may harmful for one's own thinking, we can have more opportunities to practice and improve our abilities if we face this challenge rightly.
