各位老师好,今天我说课的内容是必修二第四单元Wildlife protection的Reading

部分。本单元的话题是野生动物保护。随着经济的发展,环境问题越来越突出,人与自然如何和谐共处成为了我们必须面对的问题。作为中学生,应该了解野生动物保护知识,确立环保观念也是非常必要的。各环节围绕这一中心,设计安排了听、说、读、写活动。Reading 是整个单元的核心部分,是上一课时Warming up的延续和升华,另外,大部分的重要词汇和语法也在这个课时中呈现出来。文章介绍了一个叫Daisy的小女孩在梦中乘飞毯看望野生濒危动物的奇妙经历。通过女孩和藏羚羊、非洲象、猴子的对话,学生进一步意识到野生动物的生存环境日益恶化以及保护野生动物的行动刻不容缓。

本课的教学重点是帮助学生深入了解保护野生动物的重要性,思考动物保护的多种方式。教学难点是训练学生获取信息、处理信息、分析思考和解决问题的能力,培养学生带着问题去阅读文章的习惯。

语言知识目标:读准、掌握重点词汇、短语及句型。熟练运用英语来表达野生动物所面临的问题和解决方案。

语言技能目标:能继续巩固速读、概括比较等阅读技能,理解文章,突破固有的思维模式,提出新观点。

情感态度目标:能意识到野生动物保护和环境保护对人类生存和发展的非凡意义,产生保护动物,保护大自然的使命感,热爱生命,关注自然,关注人与自然的和谐。

通过对上一课时Warming up的学习,学生对于熊猫、华南虎等一些比较熟悉的濒危野生动物的现状已经有一定了解,也能举出许多濒危动物的名称,但是还缺乏对相关词汇的学习和对国外濒危野生动物面临问题的了解。另外,学生对于动物保护这个话题讨论的热情度不够,引导他们积极主动思考显得尤为重要。因此在处理这一堂课时,我会在指导学生快速阅

读的同时引导学生相互合作,自己发现本单元重点语言结构,让学生自己发现并感悟相关的语言规律,培养他们的语感。

我将采用多种教学方法,例如question-and-answer activity, fast-reading activity, watch-and-listen activity, free discussion method, pair work, and role-acting activity. 鉴于本文内容会涉及大量的图片信息,我将在多媒体教室上课,借助多媒体的直观教学手段和传统教学方式相结合,上一堂趣味性、知识性融为一体的阅读课。整个教学过程安排紧凑,把课堂的主动权交给学生,教师只充当提问、引导、总结的角色,符合新课标的精神。

具体教学过程如下:

第一:导入:让学生欣赏一段事先剪辑好的视频,青藏高原上奔跑的藏羚羊,非洲草原上成群迁徙的非洲象,热带雨林里各种各样的美丽动物一一呈现在学生眼前,鼓励学生思考问题“what make the world around us so wonderful?”然后,给出大量野生动物图片,提问“what do you think of or know about these animals?”学生可能会给出许多描述性形容词,会提到“They are dying out. They are endangered. ”之类的信息。最后播放一段破坏动物生存环境和猎杀动物的视频,help the students to find out the various reasons why the animals are in danger or disappearing. 这一环节耗时十分钟左右,在回答问题时,学生可以运用die out, wildlife protection, in danger of, habitat, reserve, hunt等新学词汇,在导入新课的同时起到复习上课内容的作用。

第二:快速阅读:在屏幕上给出学生几组由浅入深的问题,问题包含文章的主题、主要线索和主要细节,目的是培养学生捕捉信息的能力。问题如下:

Where did Daisy go?

What three animals did Daisy meet?

Who took her there?

How did the antelope feel?

Why are people hunting and killing the Tibetan antelopes?

What will happen to Tibetan antelopes in three years?

How did the elephant feel?

How did life improve for the elephants?

How did life improve for the farmers?

What did the monkey do to protect itself from mosquitoes?

给出学生五分钟时间快速阅读并找出问题答案,整个环节历时十分钟左右。

第三:深层阅读:播放课文录音,同时让学生细读全文,根据上下文猜测黑体字部分词义,要求尽量用英语表达,并完成课本28页第一题。然后要求学生分小组讨论,把文章分成三部分并简单概括各部分中心大意,完成27页表格。最后提出问题让学生讨论“What did Daisy learn from her travel?”本环节历时十五分钟。

第四:角色扮演朗读:三个大组每组推选两名同学扮演Daisy和与其对话的野生动物,朗读对话内容,本组其他同学朗读旁白,旨在熟悉课文,培养语感。朗读结束后教师纠正学生的语音语调错误。本环节历时七分钟。

第五:最后我留有三分钟的时间布置作业,作业如下:

1、Turn to page 28 and do the vocabulary exercises 2 and 3;该作业目的是巩固课

文中出现的重点词汇。

And there was always WWF… ANIMAL EXTINCTION Many animals have disappeared during the long history of the earth. The most famous of these animals are dinosaurs. They lived on the earth tens of millions of years ago, long before humans came into being and their future seemed secure at that time. There were many different kinds of dinosaur and a number of them used to live in China. The eggs of twenty-five species have been found in Xixia County, Nanyang, Henan Province. Not long ago a rare new species of bird-like dinosaur was discovered in Chaoyang County, Liaoning Province. When scientists inspected the bones, they were surprised to find that these dinosaurs could not only run like the others but also climb trees. They learned this from the way the bones were joined together. Dinosaurs died out suddenly about 65 million years ago. Some scientists think it came after an unexpected incident when a huge rock from space hit the earth and put too much dust into the air. Others think the earth got too hot for the dinosaurs to live on any more. Nobody knows for sure why and how dinosaurs disappeared from the earth in such a short time. We know many other wild plants, animals, insects and birds have died out more recently. According to a UN report, some 844 animals and plants have disappeared in the last 500 years. The dodo is one of them. It lived on the Island of Mauritius and was a very friendly animal. Please listen to a story of the dodo and how it disappeared from the earth.
