On freedom

To different people, freedom has its different meaning and sense, I think. It can bring you happiness, because you can do things you like to do, while it can also bring you bad things, for examp le, other’s bad impression of you.

Some people think that freedom is the most important in our life, because they think that they can do things freely if they have the chance of freedom. While there are also many people who think that freedom is not necessary all the time. From my point of view, freedom is important, but absolute freedom is to some extent horrible.

I have seen a movie called “Freedom writers”. It is about a English teacher and his special students. We say they are special, because some of them are members of reactionary gang, and even some of them had just been discharged from the prison. Obviously, it is very difficult to control them for the teacher. They are fighting all the time, fighting for freedom. At last, the teacher use the method of letting the students to keep a diary to help them. Then the students become friends and do not fight with each other any more. Actually, I can understand them. The blacks are often bullied by the whites, and the government also discriminate them. So, freedom is quite important for the blacks

But on the contrary, we must recognize that absolute freedom is crazy, like Roman Roland said. We can take a sensitive question as an example, the people in Xinjiang province. The government gives them many privileges in order to keep national unity. But we can check what they do; they use the inferior meat to make food and do not care if it is harm to people’s body. In addition to that, many parents there send their children to the gang that can train them to become thief. Maybe you will ask, or I think you should ask, “Is this kind of freedom necessary? Is it helpful to give them so many privileges?” In my opinion, it is not necessary! I think we should condemn those unreasonable parents for what they have done. The youth should be the successor and make contribution to the society, instead of acting in a disorderly manner in society.

When I was in junior high school, our teacher also asked us to express our idea about freedom. At that time, I was muddleheaded. I just thought that freedom means you can do what you like to do, eat what you like to eat, and do not need to do any homework. How ridiculous I was! But we have to admit that a child’s dream is always fine.

In a word, freedom is necessary as long as we make use of it in a proper way and make contribution to the society..
