On January 18, a 12-man Chinese team landed on the Antarctic icecap peak(南极冰盖最高点). They are the first people to reach the peak of Dome A(冰穹A). It is 4,039 meters above sea level（平面）.
The team built a station there to study the changes of the weather, to get ice samples(标本) from 150 meters t0 200 meters below, and to do other studies. So far, the team has got nearly
100-meter-long ice samples from a place about 300 meters under the icecap peak.

Edith Cavell was born in a little English village. She was a clever, hard-working girl and did well at school, especially in music and French. After she left school, her first job was to take care of the children of a rich family in Belgium(比利时). The language they spoke was French, so she found that her school studies were useful.
