Why are so many people deeply hooked by Wechat? Is it a god –given gift or just a sugar-coated bullet? The answers to these questions vary from person to person. While there are voices of criticism against it, I firmly hold the belief, with more than 600,000,000 users standing on my side, that its advantages outweight disadvantages.
To begin with, instant messaging function of Wechat acts like a golden silk thread between people of the 21st century. Users either send pictures, videos, namecards or positions to one of his contacts instantly, or share them with close friends in a groupchat. With a click at mouse, people are more associated than before.
In addition, great convenience also speaks loudly for Wechat. Specific public account subscribers can use the platform for service like hospital pre-registration, visa renewal or credit card service. Besides, Global Wechat Service has made it possible for people from different countries work as a union to achieve a same goal without taking a phone or spending a dollar.
What’s more,Wechat offers a new way to make “a galaxy of friends”. Select “S ocial”,and then “People Nearby”.Choose one and send greetings to communicate. Chances are that you will find someone who can multiply your joys and divide your griefs.
Consequently, were it left to me to choose whether a society with
traditional social platforms of communicating or a convenient and colorful life with Wechat, I would not hesitate a moment to choose the later. Although disadvantages do exist, it depends on you how to use it wisely.
