Chinese wedding traditions reflect traditions from Chinese history. Many Chinese believe that marriage is a major event in people’s lives. Because they spend a lot of money on a wedding celebration. There are many differences between Chinese and the America weddings. People in America go to church while the Chinese celebrate with a feast. Most Chinese like traditional wedding. There are 6 main necessary procedures of a Chinese wedding: match-making, engagement, betrothal presents, meeting the bride, three bows and drinking wedlock wine. Red is the central color for a wedding theme in China. It is signifies love, joy, and prosperity and is used in a variety of ways in Chinese wedding traditions. For example: wedding gowns, shoes, packages, quilts, pillows and door curtain. In traditional weddings the bride usually eat red dates, peanuts, longans and melon seeds. Eating these fruits means the bride and groom want have a baby soon.
