As far as I know, paper cutting has a long history ( a history of 3000 years) in China, dating back to the Northern and Southern Dynasty. It is used in China mainly for three purposes: for celebration, for decoration and for religion. For example, Chinese people always put paper cuts on doors and windows to express our happiness during the Spring Festivals and to hope for good luck.
