Beauty in my eyes

Good evening, Ladies and Gentlemen, it is my honor to stand here and deliver a speech about the beauty in my eyes.

The first thing I consider as beauty is nature. Everytime we indulge ourselves in nature, we will gain aesthetic appreciation from bright sunshine, blossoming flowers etc. Besides, we can gain the healing power from nature.Thank nature, is it give us courage, let us pick up the lost confidence, so, I love nature, love its beauty!

（I can still remember my trip to Hainan (The southernmost province in China) three years ago. At that time, I failed in my college entrance examination. I was frustrated and I saw no way out. Sevreral days I spent on sitting along the beach, watching the wave continuously patting the beach in silence. The ocean never talked, yet I am impressed by the spirit of its tolerance and strength. It never turns away rivers, thus making itself wide and deep. It has already been there for thousands of years before I came and seems to remain there forever. Thanks to the sea, I gradually went through that dark period and picked up my confidence again. ）The beauty of nature has taught me to smile at difficulties and embrace challenges dauntlessly.

The second thing I consider as beauty is book. Books are accumulated knowledege and experience of ages; They enlighten our life to overcome adversities and comfort us in sorrow and in suffering; They store our minds with ideas, fill them with good and happy thoughts, and lift us out of and above ourselves. Without fatigue, inconvenience or expense, I can visit famous moutains and rivers within a day. More often I share the same feelings with the characters in the books. I laugh with them when they come acorss funny stories or cry with them when misfortune overshadowed them. It is self evident that the beauty of books will shine throughout the span of time together with human beings.

Well, my love and pursuit for thetwo beautiful things often bring me to the paradise on earth, yet my compassion for miserable people often draw me back to the ground. And that is the third thing I consider as beauty. Just as Alexander Pope once said “To err is human, and to forgive is divine”. Compassion is one of the basic essence of human beings, And it is under this spirit that we offer kind help to our friends even strangers whenever they are in plight. It’s in this spirit that we human beings can unite and join hands to fight against those threats to security, traditional or non-traditional, such as drug trafficing, terrorist activities. People like Martin Luther King, Princess Diana who have devoted all their life to building a better tomorrow for human beings will always be kept in mind.

As a conclusion, nature, book and compassion are closely intergrated and mutually affected. The three things will continue to guide me to get closer to nature, acquire more knowledge and assist othre people as possible as I can.
