William Shakespeare was an English poet and playwright(剧作家). He is widely regarded as England’s national poet and the world’s top dramatist. Among his works are 38 plays, 154 sonnets, and two long narrative poems. His plays have been translated into many languages and are performed more often than those of any other playwright.
Shakespeare was born and raised in Stratford. At the age of 18, he married Anne Hathaway, with whom he had three children. Between 1585 and 1592, he lived a
