课题来源于义务教育课程标准实验教科书英语初中一年级下册第六模块。
本模块以体育运动为题材,为学生所熟悉,结合2008年北京奥运会的召开,再加上每个班级都有对体育运动比较热爱的学生,因此该话题易于激发学生的学习兴趣。
在本模块的教学过程中,学生利用课本中的语言材料,创造性地充分开展听、说、读、写训练,从而帮助学生掌握用形容词和副词来表达观点及形容词和副词的比较级的用法。
本模块的重点是形容词的比较级及副词的用法难点是用形容词的比较级及副词正确地表达自己的观点。
第一单元为词汇及听说教学。
主要通过Betty 与Daming 的对话来呈现如何用形容词的比较级来表达自己的观点。
(二)教学目标1.知识目标(1)掌握以下单词及短语的基本含义及其在语境下的应用。

如:table tennis is more popular than gymnastics. 乒乓球比体操更普及。
gymnastics is more exciting than swimming. 体操比游泳更刺激。
nothing is more exciting than basketball. 没有什么比篮球竞赛更刺激的了。
可以看出,从句式上讲more…than形式的比拟级与bigger than形式的比拟级没有太大的差异,句式要求一样,只是形容词比拟级的形式不同而已。
运用时同学们要分清形容词的类别,以便采纳适当的比拟级构成形式。
2. 副词〔1〕副词的种类① 时间副词如:ago, before, already, just, now, early, late, finally, tomorrow等② 地点副词如:here, there, near, around, in, out, up, down, back, away, outside等。
③ 方式副词如:carefully, angrily, badly, calmly, loudly, quickly, politely, nervously等。
④ 程度副词如:almost, nearly, much, greatly, a bit,a little, hardly, so, very等。
