今年12月开考的考近日在接受学生和家长报名，而最起劲的要数小学一、二年级的家长了。
在“考星现象”愈演愈热的情况下，一线英语教师提醒家长，报班考证是一柄“双刃剑”，家长切不可操之过急，盲目跟风，而是要根据孩子的具体情况，在学有余力的前提下进行理性选择，否则反而只能讨得一个事倍功半的效果。
[名词简介] 何谓考试由上海市通用外语水平等级考试办公室和上海市青年文化活动中心联合开设的上海市通用少儿英语口语考试(原雏鹰章)，是一项旨在培养少年儿童英语听说能力，并集性、科学性、趣味性为一体的考试。
自2008年8月起，考试增加了采用计算机平台进行测试的四考试，考察学生的英语实际应用能力和社交能力。
2008年8月起，又增加了笔试，分二、三、四星三个级别。
这一考试由易到难分为一、二、三和四。
一星对应于小学低年级，二星对应于小学高年级，三星对应于初中，四星则是对应于初中毕业或高中低年级。
[教师观点] 低龄孩子超前考证有利有弊一师附小的英语王老师告诉记者，家长让孩子参加考试的最终目的，无非也就是在升学的时候增加一个砝码。
以前的英语等级考试取消以后，通用少儿英语的证书就成了众矢之的。
不过记者注意到，学生参加考试正呈现出逐渐低龄化的趋势，许多孩子在家长的“督促”下，还未踏入小学就已经开始了预热，甚至有不少幼儿园中班、大班的孩子已经通过了二星甚至三星口语考试。
但是低龄孩子超前考证究竟是利是弊呢？阳浦小学的英语教师
范玉斌认为，首先，学龄前儿童在入学前打下一定的英语基础，对今后的学习肯定是有好处的。
学生在课堂上碰到的单词、句型，可能之前通过社会上的培训班，已经接触过甚至掌握了，那么从积极方面来看，这无疑能够促进学生在课堂上的学习积极性，学生会乐意自信地表现自己。
但从另一方面看，学龄前儿童的学习理解能力还具有一定的局限性，同样的内容，可能接受起来就要花更多的时间和精力，这也意味着孩子报了培训班之后要跟上学习进度就得学得很辛苦。
进一步来看，有些东西即使孩子学会了，也只是依葫芦画瓢，对一些细节上的东西并没有真正理解。
