Unit2 using languageInterpretation of my of my lesson planGood morning, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great honor and pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you.I have been ready to begin this representation with six parts:Analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods, teaching aids, the learning strategies, and the teaching procedure and blackboard design.Part 1 Analysis of Teaching MaterialThe content of my lesson is New Senior English for China Book2, Unit2. This unit is about the Olympic Games. Today my lesson is the reading and listening task in using language, namely, the story of Atlanta. By studying of this text, I will help students to learn about the story of Atlanta and motivate the Ss’ interest in learning about the culture of English speaking countries in the world. At the same time, lead the students to write stories with their imagination. (As we all know, reading belongs to the input period during the process of the language learning. The input has great effect on output, such as speaking and writing.) Therefore, this lesson mainly focus on motivating students’interest in reading more English materials and on the reading sills of getting information quickly. In this lesson, I will mainly help students to understand this passage and practice some reading skills such as skimming, scanning and so on.A、Teaching AimsAccording to the new standard curriculum and the syllabus (新课程标准和教学大纲), and after studying the teaching material, I set the teaching aims from three dimensions:1.Knowledge objects (语言目标：语音，词汇，语法，功能，话题)(1) the usage of the important words and expressions:(2) important sentence patterns:……2.Ability objects (技能目标：听，说，读，写)(1) After this lesson, the Ss have a clear idea of the story .(2) Ss will have critical thinking by discussing the end of this story.(3) To i mprove the student’s reading ability, especially their skimming and scanning ability.3.Emotion or moral objects (情感目标：兴趣，自信，合作，爱国，国际视野) By doing this task, we will try our best to stimulate the Ss’ interest in foreign culture and interest in learning English.B、the Important and Difficult PointsAccording to the requirements of the syllabus.The difficult points are how to get the main idea by scanning and understand the text and some difficult sentences.The difficult points: to make the Ss open their mouths to express their ideas.Part 2 Teaching MethodsAs is known to us all, a good teaching method requires that the teacher should help Ss develop good sense of the English language. Teaching plan(2)Good mor ning, respected judges. I’m No.* contestant to apply for the qualification as a senior high school English teacher. It’s really my great honor to stand here and interpret my teaching plan to all of you.I have been ready to begin this representation with five parts: teaching material, students’ analysis, teaching aims, important& difficult points, teaching and learning approach and teaching procedure.1)Teaching materialNow, let me start with the first part- teaching material. T oday’s lesson is from Unit2, Book 2, published by People’s Education Press. It’s a reading passage called “The story of Atlanta”. The text is about a fast-running girl called Atlanta, who was a Greek princess, made a bargain with her father that only the man, who runs faster than her, could marry her. Therefore a boy called Hippomenes began the race. It’s an interesting passage with an end to be finished.2)Students’ analysis& teaching aimsAs for students’ analysis, we all know that students have great interests in Olympic Games and have laid a basic foundation in words and phrases through former study. Therefore, according to this point, I divide teaching aims into 3 parts.a)Knowledge aimThe first part is knowledge aim. In this part, students are supposed to master the future passive voice.b)Ability aimAs to the second part- ability aim, students are encouraged to develop the ability to use 2 important reading skills-fast reading in getting the main idea and careful reading in finding out details.c)Emotion aimLast but the most important part is the emotion aim. By learning this passage, students can have a better understanding of the Olympic’s spirit –to live healthily and thus cultivate their interests in sports3）Important& difficult pointsNext, I’d lik e to present the important and difficult points in this text. The important points include knowing the structure of the future passive voice.Compared with the important points, the difficult points are the ability to find out where the future passive voice are and to know how to write sentences by using future passive voice.4)Teaching& learning approachAccording to the important and difficult points, I decide to choosetask-based language teaching approach and communicative approach as my teaching approach and group working and independent thinking as learning approach.As for the teaching approach, I think it important for students to develop the ability in working out the given tasks with the help of others. The reason of my learning approach is to encourage students to think up the answers independently and develop a sense of team work by listening and sharing.5)Teaching procedureBasing on what I’ve listed just now, I’d like to move to the most important part-the teaching procedure. This part consists of 5 steps: Lead in, while-reading, summary, discussion and homework.1.Lead in (5-7mins)In this step, I will play a video about Atlanta and then I will ask some volunteers to do the role- playing in front of the class and I will be the narrator.Purpose of my design:It’s an efficient way to arouse their interest in learning the text as well as leading in the text.2.While-reading (18-20mins)In this step, I will lead students to use 2 important reading skills: fast reading and careful reading.① Fast reading (3-5mins)First,I’ll give them 2-3 minutes to find out the main idea of each paragraph and the whole text, which will help them think independently. Second,students are asked to do 3 single choice questions to check their understanding of the whole passage.Third, I will check whether their answers are right.By doing this, they can trained the skill of getting the main points within a small amount of time .② Careful reading (13-15mins)Task 1: Before careful reading, I’ll explain new words and diff icult sentences listed on the blackboard.Purpose of my design: It’s an efficient way for students to understand the text easily.Task 2:I’ll also list T/F questions on the blackboard and one question to think about while reading “What do you think the end will be?”Students are supposed to read through the text and find out the answers within 5-6 minutes.After reading the passage carefully, I will guide the students to work in groups of 4 and discuss their answers and opinions.And I will check their answers and play the rest of the video to the students to tell them the end.Task 3: Each student is given a chart about the text with blanks on it. Iwill guide the students to listen to the tape and fill in the blanks. After listening, students can check their answers by looking at the text. Purpose of my design:In this way, they are trained the skill of finding out the information by reading the text in details.3.Summary (5mins)I’ll invite several students to look at their notes and make a brief summary about the text and then I’ll make a supplement.Purpose of my design: Students can consolidate what they have learned.4.Discussion (10-15mins)I’ll ask students to discuss 4 questions listed on the blackboard. Each group is given 7-8 minutes to discuss and select one student to present their ideas. The rest of the students will be the listeners. If anyone has a different opinion, he/ she can raise his/ her hand and speak it out. Purpose of my design: By doing this task, they will benefit a lot in their spoken English. Most students can take their parts in the activities, especially for those who have trouble in English study.5.HomeworkIn the last 1-2 minutes, I’ll assign the homework. Students are required to finish the exercises after the text.Purpose of my design:Homework is important and necessary for students to master the knowledge they’ve learned after class. It will check whether they achieve the teaching aims or not.。

1.地位和作用：本课位于人教必修二第二单元。
是关于奥运会的话题，而这个话题又是高中阶段的一重要话题，所以和奥运有关的词汇和短语就成了高考大纲的重点词汇。
本节课是本单元的第二课时语言知识课，主要是给学生讲解本单元阅读部分的重点单词、短语和句式，通过本节课内容的学习让学生达到语言运用的目的。
给以后的写作打下基础。
2.学情分析：学生通过阅读课，学习了重点单词、短语和复杂句式，所以通过老师的讲解学生语言运用能力会有所提高，但是缺乏在语境中熟练运用的能力，所以这节课的目的就是通过学生归纳、老师适时点拨并以多种形式的练习让学生学会并提高语言运用能力。

Unit2 using languageInterpretation of my of my lesson planGood morning, ladies and gentlemen. It’s my great honor and pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you.I have been ready to begin this representation with six parts:Analysis of the teaching material, the teaching methods, teaching aids, the learning strategies, and the teaching procedure and blackboard design.Part 1 Analysis of Teaching MaterialThe content of my lesson is New Senior English for China Book2, Unit2. This unit is about the Olympic Games. Today my lesson is the reading and listening task in using language, namely, the story of Atlanta. By studying of this text, I will help students to learn about the story of Atlanta and motivate the Ss’ interest in learning about the culture of English speaking countries in the world. At the same time, lead the students to write stories with their imagination. (As we all know, reading belongs to the input period during the process of the language learning. The input has great effect on output, such as speaking and writing.) Therefore, this lesson mainly focus on motivating students’interest in reading more English materials and on the reading sills of getting information quickly.
