Good morning ,everyone. It`s my great pleasure to stand here to present my lesson plan. It is a reading type lesson. The reading material is from PEP NSEFC Module1 Unit2----English around the World. The topic of this unit is English language, its development and different kinds of English. This passage talks about the development of English, from old English to Modern English.The analysis and rearrangement of teaching materialTo help students understand better , I have made following rearrangement .Since Para.1 and para.5 both talk about the English spread in space. Para.3 and para.4 both talk about the development of English in the time order. And para.4 mentioned the difference between British English and American English in spelling , students will follow to learn another difference in para2, ,which is the different English expression. So the teaching order is not from para.1 to para.5 one by one, instead, firstly, para1 and para5, secondly, para3 and para4 and lastly, para2. With the two clear clue, Ss will understand the passage more logically and easily.The analysis of learning conditionAs the center of my class, my students have already acquired a certain amount of words and expressions , and equipped with basic reading skills, which make it possible to generally understand the passage. While they have learned English for several years, they are still in lack of the background knowledge of the English, such as the history of English , how it changes and why. I will ask them to guess what are they , and lead to the answer that they are old English. I graduated from xinyang normal university in 2001. And in 2007, I chose the central China normal university to continue my study and got my master's degree in education major in English in 2009. I come from Zhumadian Infant Normal college, and his predecessor is the Runan Infant normal school. I have taught English in this school for 15 years. In teaching, I always insist on high standards and take every class and every student seriously. I like my students and my career. In the future, I will continue as always.Now let's come to my lesson. The lesson plan I’m going to talk about is: manners. I will explain how to teach and why to do so in the following 9 aspects.Knowing teaching material well is the basis of giving a good lesson, so at first I will talk about the first part:Part1 Analysis of teaching materialThis lesson is taken from the Speaking part in Unit 2, of Practical English for Kindergarten Teachers, published by Henan university press. The main topic of this unit is manners. This is the first period of the unit, this period focuses on learning about different manners in different areas. It is a new lesson and it will lay a good fresh beginning of this unit. So it is in the important position of the teaching material.Part2 Analysis of teaching objectivesⅠKnowledge Objectives are to enable the students to master the new words and important language points.ⅡAbility Objectives are to i mprove Ss’abilities of listening, speaking and reading by learning and imitating dialogues, so that the students can freely talk about manners that they encountered.ⅢEmotion Objectives are to d evelop the students’ good manners by learning some different manners at different places.Part3 Analysis of studentsAnd I think, the analysis of students is also important. They effect how to choose the teaching methods. The Ss are freshmen in our college. They are active and outgoing and dare to speak in learning, but most of them are poor in English and usually learn English passively. Their oral English also need practice. Therefore, in the teaching process, I'll try to arouse their curiosity of this topic and arouse their intetst in English learning and train the students’ abilities of reading and speaking.Part4 Important and difficult pointsAccording to the above teaching objectives and the feathers of the students, I regard the following as important and difficult points.ⅠImportant points are to guide the students to remember the new words and expressions and important language points, in order to i mprove the students’ abilities of listening, speaking and reading .ⅡDifficult point is to guide the students to learn how to make dialogues and to i mprove the students’ abilities of speaking.I do so because the purpose of language learning is to use language, and the goal of language teaching is to cultivate Ss' abilities.Part5Teaching And Learning MethodsProper methods are quite important for a good lesson. Based on thefeatures of students, in combination with the characteristics of this lesson, I’ll adopt “direct teaching method”, “expository method(讲授法)”“task-based teaching method”and “group discussion method” in my class. As for learning, “Inquiry learning(探究学习)”,“independent study”and “Cooperative learning” are needed.For a good lesson, some suitable teaching aids are also quite necessary.Part6 Teaching AidsI choose multimedia courseware and a blackboard to present this lesson to achieve better effect.All we do before lesson is just for teaching procedures. Then here come to the most important part.Part7 Teaching proceduresI will finish this lesson in six steps. All the steps are around teaching objectives.Step 1. Warming-upThere are two activities in this step and will spend 5 mins on them. First of all, I’ll play a short video about the farce of different customs and habits by direct teaching method. Then,I’ll invite a few students to share what they have encountered. This activity leads in the next part.I do this to arouse the students’ interests in what they will learn. Step2. PresentationThis part is the most importang and it will take 23mins.1.(first of all is) Listening: I’ll adopt task-based teaching method to ask the students to listen to this dialogue and to grasp the main idea,in order to train their listening abilities.2. Fast reading:After listening, I’ll ask the students to read the whole dialogue quickly and to answer some further questions. Through task-based teaching method and the student's independent study, train their skimming and scanning abilities.3. (after fast reading I’ll do)Intensive reading: This part is the important points of this lesson and I’ll adopt expository method. I’ll ask the students to read the dialogue carefully, and to grasp the new words and language points, in order to improve the students’ reading abilities.4.Post-reading(4’):After learning the new dialogue, let the students try to complete another dialogue. Through the students’inquiry learning, train the students’ applying abilities.Step3. PracticeThe purpose of this step is to consolidate the new knowledge.It will take 6 mins. At first, let Ss read the dialogue following the tape. And then let thempractice the dialogue by roles.I do this to let the students further master the dialogue and to improve their speaking abilities.Step4. ProductionThis part is the difficult point of this lesson and costs about 8 minutes. At first, I will ask the Ss to discuss in groups and to make a dialogue by imitating this dialogue.Then Let them act out in class.The main purpose is to improve the students’ speaking abilities, through group discussion method and the students' cooperative learning.Step5. SummaryIt costs about 2 minutes. In order to make the students clear what they’ve learned, I’ll guide them to go over the whole class and emphasize the important and different points again.Step6. HomeworkIt costs about 1minutes. I’ll ask the students to repeated practice this dialogue and make a new dialogue about manners, which will help not only to consolidate the knowledge but also to practice their speaking skill.(After all the teaching procedures, I want to talk about my Bb design. ) Part8 Blackboard DesignI think a clear blackboard design can help Ss to grasp the overall knowledge of this lesson.
