高等学校英语应用能力考试 (B级)PRACTICAL ENGLISH TEST FOR COLLEGES 【应用文写作（Practical Writing）1.Personal/Business letters （私人/商务书信）1.私人信函通常包括一下5个部分：a.日期（Date）：通常出现在信页的右上方。

b.称呼语（Opening）：称呼收信者，通常是“Dear”后跟收信者姓名，再加上逗号或者冒号。

c.正文（Body）：写信者要传达的信息，一个或者多个段落。

d.结尾（Closing）：表示礼貌，谦恭，祝愿等的短语（如All the best，Best wishes，或者Yours Truly，Yours Sincerely，Yours Faithfully），后跟都逗号。

e.签名（Signature）：如收信者是熟人，签上写信者的名即可，否则，签上全名（名+姓）。

注：如是商务书信，须在日期前面加上信内地址（Inside address）2. 书信格式：英文书信基本上可以分为三种：板块式，半板块式和缩进式。

a.板块式又成为齐头式（Block style），其特点是所有部分都从左边开。

每行左边上下对齐，成一直线。

但是，在大学英语教学过程中，笔者注意到大部分学生尤其是大一新生不知如何准备高等学校用于应用能力B级考试（以下简称B级考试）。

本文详细分析了B级考试笔试的题型，提出了有效的备考对策和学习英语的建议。

2 高等学校英语应用能力考试概述根据2000年教育部颁布的《高职高专教育英语课程教学基本要求（试行）》的主要精神，高职高专院校要“以培养学生实际应用语言的能力为目标”[2]，“语言测试在考核英语知识的同时，应着重考核学生实际运用语言的能力”[2]。

高职高专院校既要培养学生具备必要的英语语言基本知识，更重要地是强调提高学生实际应用英语的能力。

高职高专毕业生必须具备工作所需的实际应用英语的能力。

PRETCO能够针对高职高专培养目标，检测学生实际应用英语进行日常和业务工作的能力，对高职高专英语教学改革起到了良好的促进作用。

PRETCO分A 级和B级，考试方式为笔试和口试，分别进行。

笔试测试英语语言基础知识和听、读、写、译实用技能。

口试测试学生以英语为工具进行日常和业务的口头交际能力。

二、试卷分析全国高等学校英语应用能力考试（B级）目的是考核考生的语言知识、语言技能和使用英语处理有关一般业务和涉外交际的基本能力，其性质是教学—水平考试。
