在小学低年段初探英语视觉词（Sight words）作者：凌绮菊来源：《学校教育研究》2017年第13期一、认识视觉词Sight words ——视觉词，是孩子无需解码直接能读出来的单词。
视觉词也叫高频词，是英语启蒙读物中出现频率最高的单词。
常用的视觉词表由爱德华.威廉.多尔希博士通过分析当时的儿童读物整理而成，于1948年发表，包括220个单词，这些单词也因他而得名“多尔希视觉词（Dolch Sight Words）”。
这个视觉词表分成了前预备级（Pre-primer）、预备级（Primer）、一年级（1st Grade）、二年级（2nd Grade）、（3rd Grade）共五个级别。
二、视觉词的特点（一）没有实义，意思多变视觉词中有不少意义抽象的虚词，比如，the， of， to等。
这些单词无法用图片或语言来解释，它们的用法非常灵活，在不同情境中就有不同的意思。
例如单词in，它可以作为时间介词in September，也可以用作方位介词in the room，有“在……”的意思。
但它还与很多实义词搭配，如in a white dress， in trouble。
这时，它的意思就完全不一样了。
（二）不符合拼读规则学生不能根据语音规律轻易地掌握它们的发音。
例如单词live，按发音规律，这里的i应该发长元音，但实际上它发的是短元音。
另外，还有the， was， were等单词往往不能通过自然拼读法去掌握，只能通过直接的视觉认知和整体记忆来掌握。
（三）音义接近，容易混淆大部分的视觉词都不像实词，学生不可以通过形象思维结合实物或图片来掌握。
它们又不符合语音规律，因此，学生不能用一个响亮的声音去记住它。
反之，部分视觉词的发音接近，意思接近，学生非常容易混淆。
如here-there-where-their，这些看起来很像的词，常常阻碍着孩子们学习。
三、学习视觉词的意义在孩子的阅读初阶，音素和视觉词扮演了重要的角色，它们是打开英语阅读的重要“钥匙”。

在一般书籍、教材、报纸杂志里所用的字中，大概有50%-70%的字是由这些常用字组成。
如果孩子拿起任何一本读物都必须用自然拼读来解读这些字，未免负担太重且浪费时间。
美国学者E.W.Dolch在经过深入研究之后总结出常用字，让孩子们学习，学到一看能读出这些字，而不用花时间拼读，如此他们只需将时间花在拼读不会的字即可。
