I know starting at a new school with a new teacher can be a little scary, but I'll do my very best to make our classroom a fun, safe, and happy place for everyone.First, let me tell you a little bit about myself. I was born and raised right here in our city. When I was a little kid, my favorite things were playing soccer, reading books, and snacking on chocolate chip cookies (which are still my favorite snack!). I loved school from the very beginning. My favorite subjects were always reading and writing. I can still remember the first book I read all by myself – it was "The Cat in the Hat" by Dr. Seuss. After that, I was hooked on reading!In high school, I joined the school newspaper and the debate team. I loved learning about current events and arguing different sides of an issue. That's when I first realized I wanted to become a teacher someday. My teachers had such a big impact on me, and I wanted to do the same for other kids.After high school, I went to college to study English and Education. College was amazing! I made lots of new friends, joined some fun clubs, and of course, studied really hard. One of my favorite parts was my student teaching, where I got topractice being a teacher in a real classroom. The kids were so much fun and kept me on my toes!After graduating from college, I worked as a teacher at a few different schools before coming here. I spent the last five years teaching middle school English, which was a blast. Middle schoolers have such big personalities and crazy senses of humor.
