雅思 2012年12月作文真题

雅思 2012年12月作文真题

雅思 2012年12月作文真题The issue of climate change has become a pressing concern in recent years, with the potential to have far-reaching impacts on the environment, economy, and society as a whole. This essay will explore the various perspectives on this issue, including the causes and effects of climate change, as well as potential solutions to mitigate its impact. One of the primary causes of climate change is the emission of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide and methane, from human activities such as burning fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes. These gases trap heat inthe atmosphere, leading to a gradual increase in global temperatures, known as global warming. The consequences of this phenomenon are already being felt, with more frequent and severe weather events, rising sea levels, and disruptions to ecosystems and agriculture. From an economic perspective, climate change poses significant risks to industries such as agriculture, tourism, and insurance, which are vulnerable to extreme weather events and environmental degradation. The costs of adapting to these changes and rebuilding infrastructure after natural disasters can also place a strain on government budgets and international aid efforts. Furthermore, the potential displacement of populations due to sea-level rise and loss of habitable land could lead to social and political instability, with implications for global security and humanitarian crises. On a more personal level, the effects of climate change can be deeply emotional, particularly for those directly impacted by natural disasters or environmental degradation. The loss of homes, livelihoods, and even lives due to events such as hurricanes, wildfires, and droughts can have long-lasting psychological effects on individuals and communities, leading to feelings of grief, anxiety, and hopelessness. Additionally, the prospect of a future with uncertain access to clean water, food, and shelter can create a sense of existential dread and despair, especially for future generations. In response to these challenges, there is a growing recognition of the need for collective action to address climate change at both the national and international levels. This includes efforts to reduce emissions through the transition to renewable energy sources, increase energy efficiency, and protect and restore natural carbon sinks such as forests and wetlands. There is also a focus on building resilience to the impacts of climate change, through measures such as improving infrastructure, developing early warning systems, and implementing sustainable land use and water management practices. However, there are also barriers to progress on this issue, includingpolitical and economic interests that are resistant to change, as well as a lack of awareness and understanding among the general public. Overcoming these obstacles will require effective communication and education about the science of climate change and the urgency of taking action, as well as innovative policies and incentives to drive the transition to a low-carbon economy. In conclusion, climate change is a complex and multifaceted issue that requires a holistic and coordinated response from all sectors of society. By acknowledging the diverse perspectives on this issue, and by incorporating emotional elements into the discussion, we can foster a greater sense of empathy and urgency in addressing this critical challenge. It is only through collective action and a shared commitment to sustainability that we can hope to mitigate the worst impacts of climate change and create a more resilient and equitable future for all.。

2012年1月12日雅思写作真题+范文+解析试题大意:>Some people think that the government should establish free libraries in each town. Others, however, believe that it is a waste of money since the public can use the Internet at home to obtain information. Discuss both sides and give your own opinion.两个问题。

The public can still benefit from visiting libraries, even though these days access to the Internet can provide all kinds of information. To enhance the quality of research, it is better to make the most of both modern Web-based and traditional library resources. Establishing free libraries in each town makes sense since the use of a computer at home has its own weaknesses as well as its indisputable strengths. At this information age, the diversified advantages of using the Internet are only too obvious. Online resources can be obtained from all over the world 24 hours a day, seven days a week while a library's publications cannot provide up-to-minute information the way Web sites can. The Internet gives users opportunities for two-way communication through Facebook, Twitter, E-mail, MSN, among other electronic devices. Some sites feature rare books, documents and special collections that traditionally have been only available in libraries. Almost at no cost and merely a few clicks away, the public can read newspapers, magazines, journals and encyclopedias, no matter when or where. Furthermore, the Internet offers a complete multimediaexperience--texts, video, audio, hyperlinks and graphics, etc. all at once, but such advantages often cannot be expected from town libraries. On the other hand, money spent on public libraries is certainly worth it. To start with, knowledgeable librarians can be of practical help when it comes to offering professional advice about research on particular topics. A government-financed library is supposed to use universal cataloging systems that classify and organize all resources so that it is easier for a user to locate specific information without being led to non-productive research. Whereas most Web sites provide materials characteristic of current information, only a library well-funded by public money can house printed copies that date back many decades. In addition, computers in libraries also offer free Internet connection and other electronic resources, such as reference CD-ROMs. Now that anyone can create a Web site, reliability of information on the Internet is not guaranteed, and as such there are cases in which the Internet is no substitute for the library.Money being not the issue, the government ought to have the wisdom of establishing free libraries in each community despite the fact that people can use the Internet at home or elsewhere. For quality research, libraries and the Internet are complementing each other. Were information food for the hungry mind, one might as eat out sometimes as eat at home, and at this point nobody ever ask questions whether to have "free" restaurants in town.。

Some employers con sider social skills as importa nt as good qualification for success in a job. To what extent do you agree or disagree?话题解析步骤一:破题题目不难理解,根据提纲情况确定文章倾向。

步骤二:提纲good qualificatio n1. proof of capacity --> eligible for a duty --c-- difficultsocial skills1. effective com muni cati on --> efficie ncy --if-- tolerated步骤三:语言In troduct ionIn such a competitive society where achiev ing success in a job is in creas in gly sig nifica nt that people attach substa ntial importa nee to their academic qualificati on. But I tend to believe that success in a job requires not only academic qualification but also social skills.BodyQualification is proof of capacity, knowledge or skill that an employer possesses for a job. It is a widely held perception that with good qualification, an employer is more likely to be believed eligible for a duty, whereas a reas on able qualificati on does not n ecessarily in dicate compete nee which is basically fostered through the practice in a job. By con trast, it seems difficult tojudge whether a pers on without a reas on able qualificati on could fulfil a missio n. Therefore, whe n employers recruit ing new members, can didates with fine qualification normally win more favor in comparison with their fellow competitors.Social skills often refer to an array of skills that facilitate people to com muni cate, relate and socialize with others. It is such a host of social skills that could proba bly help enhance employers ' working efficiency, particularly in corporati ons such as New Orien tal Educati on & Tech no logy Group Inc. where thousa nds of people are curre ntly employed and effective com muni cati on is highly dema nded. If employees are lack of such social skills as to speak in appropriately to a situati on, there is a higher possibility for them to spoil bus in ess, thereby being dismissed.Con clusi onTaking all factors into account, I tend to reaffirm my position that social skills are no less importa nt tha n reas on able qualificatio n for success in job and they should be con sidered equally sig nifica nt by employers.(256words)X。
